Foot valve home well

Common Questions and Answers about Foot valve home well

foot

Avatar f tn It could be a bacterial skin infection like Cellulitis and the split on the toe is a likely entry point of the bacteria. The red line makes me suspect a spreading infection (away from the toe and toward the heart - not the other way around). You should have this checked asap in order to avoid any potential complications. Best wishes.
144586 tn?1284666164 I shut the valve off, run to the second floor (nearby stairway) remove the fifty-foot length of hose on that valve (there is a spanner there), bring it down and add another fifty foot. The fire department has still not arrived. When I have a hundred foot of line tightened I turn the water on again. The Mexicans have disappeared. More people in the lobby fleeing! I blast another hundred of them, men, women and children. "You moron!" one of them screams. "Idiot!
Avatar f tn He can do plantar flexion and dorsiflexion of his recovered foot. It is like pressing the foot downward and extending it upward keeping your leg straight during sitting position. He can move the foot side wards also keeping his leg straight. You have to start this only after full recovery and getting a go ahead from his orthopedician.
Avatar f tn It is a common heart valve abnormality, affecting 5% to 10% of the population. MVP is especially common among women between 20 to 40 years of age. Chest pain with MVP is usually sharp but not severe. Unlike angina, chest pain with MVP rarely occurs during or after exercise, and usually will not respond to nitroglycerin. The PFO may not be medically significant and that depends on the degree of shunting.
Avatar m tn I am currently doing weekly INR testing at home. It is working well. I bounce a bit between 2.5 and 3.0 but I stay in the range for the most part. For some reason my INR has never settled down. Not sure why but no sense crying about it. Since I currently have a pacemaker running continuously (had AV node ablation to isolate ventricles from fibrillating atria) and need to protect against clot formation.
645800 tn?1466860955 The only reason I found out the I had cut my foot was that several hours later I notice bloody foot prints all over my home. While in the hospital a simple Pr1ck of my finger for a glucose test had me bleeding profusly for about 5 minutes and when they removed the IV needle from my arm I ws bleeding for about 20 minutes even with constant pressure. I also had one bad experience with one of the nurses while in the hospital.
Avatar m tn 77 year old man, 150 lbs., history of chest pain, coronary calcium score of 12.21 ascending aorta is enlarged to 44mm. Is this considered an aneurysym? What is normal for a person of this size? left foot and ankle stayed grossly swollen. MRI stated that COPD is "suspected". Any thoughts on this?
Avatar m tn Well after the first surgery started to get foot numbness. More in left foot than right, but some in both. Left foot numbness is in toes, on bottom, and creeps into ankle. I'm a hiker, so this is an issue, as it affects balance. Anyone else get the numbness well after surgery? As a note, I do get a partial return of feeling from aggressive hamstring stretching. Thanks in advance....
Avatar n tn I have been told over years, I have heart murmur, leaking valve, or not so, but have been on Lanoxin for over 20 years and finally switched to Verapamil as Toprol gave me nightmares or vivid dreams for two months. I recently developed a steady low weakening feeling of pain in my left arm and tingling in left hand and foot as well. I've experience these feelings before and went away, but now it is staying with me for last 3 months.
Avatar f tn I had an aortic valve replacement on April 14th. About a month afterward I developed severe edema in my right foot and now it's in both feet and lower legs. What could be causing this, and how can it be remedied? I've been taking diuretics daily for over a month with no visible improvement. Neither my cardiologist nor internist has an explanation. They have tested me and ruled out fluid in lungs and blood clots. Thank you.
Avatar m tn There are social and medical help available for home bound patients as well as supervised cardiac recovery programs that is covered by medical insurance...if you live in community that provides this service (usually larger cities).. Some people are genearlly in good health and recover normally, others not so well. I'm not as old as you are, but my furture may be the same as your present circumstances.
Avatar m tn I have been diagnosed with Mitral Valve Reg and Pulmonary Hypertension and a stiff heart. My doctor says the pressure in my heart is high due to the mitral valve leakage. They did the echo card found that the leak was not that big but when they did the cardiac catherization that's when they found the pressure was high behind the leak. I am now on my third medicine Isorsorbide and HCTZ. I have stopped taking the medicine. What would happen to my heart.
Avatar f tn Looking for an opinion on performing both mitro and arotic valve (valve-in-valve possible?) replacement on a heathly 90 year old white female. She had mitro valve replacement approx. 10 years ago and recovered extremely well. No other health issues- very active, not diabetic and mentally sharp (taking care of bed-ridden husband and 97 year old sister in her home-does all shopping, paying bills, setting up home care, etc. Suffering from adema and shortness of breath.
553516 tn?1255867219 should i be worried? I have been told that i have a biscuip heart valve and mild angina. I am getting the pain now even at rest. Will I have to have the the valve replaced at some time and can the pain come from the valule the was no real signs of coranary arites blocking up. Will i know if the vavle gets worst what do i look for symtom wise . My g.p has told it might get stiff soon and i may need it replaced . He has put me on a gtn spray and staitian tablets but my lipids are not that high.
Avatar n tn Finally, they did an echocardiogram to rule out bicuspid valve. This report said that the valve is tricuspid and mildly thickened. Mild 1+ aortic valve regurgitation. Now, I feel so confused. When I went to see the CT Surgeon a month after these tests, he said I only have a dilated ascending aorta, at 4cm, and made no mention of the 4.7cm that the catheterization found. He said he didn't need to see me for 2 years.
Avatar f tn A mechanical valve is usually recommended unless the patient is on the older side....over 70 yrs. That info came from my cardiologist. I was 37 when I had my valve replaced. The problem with having one replaced at a fairly early age is the risk of having to have it replaced again. My mom had her valve replaced when she was 62 with a mechanical valve. She will soon be 80 and doing well with it but she has Alzheimer's and is in a nursing home. She also has problems with her protime/inr.
Avatar n tn With the valve replacement I was in the hospital for 4 days, it was no picnic, but it was not unbearable. My worse pain came from the fact that I was a smoker (didn't quit until I walked into the hospital), I coughed terrible afterwards. They tell me that it was my lungs clearing out and healing from all the years of smoking. Thankfully, I had my husband to take care of me when I came home, was very weak. The best thing is to be well informed beforehand so that you know what to expect.
Avatar m tn Has anyone within this community undergone aortic valve repair? If so, what post operative symptoms have you experienced?
Avatar m tn 3. get an echocardiogram to look at the mitral valve and exlude things like a leaky valve (regurgitation). I would then make a decision on whether your body could take it living at a higher altitude. Good Luck.
1569696 tn?1295732552 I am seriously thinking about having the tissue valve instead of mechanical valve. I know there is a possibility of having to have the tissue valve replaced in the future. But there is a less invasive surgery that hopefully can be done at that time. My surgeon thinks the tissue valve will be better for me because of my history with coumadin. The valve is being replaced because of calcification.
Avatar m tn My dad was diagnosed several months ago with Mitral Valve Prolapse & after several tests was told his mitral valve needed to be replaced. A little background...He has been fighting fluid buildup over the last year. He will build up alot of fluid & gain about 30 pounds then have to go into the hospital, get put on a higher strength diuretic & a catheter & drain the fluid. He gets sent home for about a month, then start the cycle all over again.
