Common Questions and Answers about Foot ulcer hospital

foot

Avatar n tn The doctor who discovered it said he might have to get this foot amputated as well. His medical center is the VA hospital and they think his diabetes may be caused by Agent Orange[which he was exposed to during Vietnam.] He's had a prosthetic leg for almost a year now also. My question is, has any one else had a problem like this and any suggestions that could help it or know of a specialist or doctor who could help? Any suggestions would be extremely appreciated.
Avatar n tn Hello, I cannot confirm anything without examination but it can be a blood blister or a diabetic foot ulcer. It is a type of blister that forms when subdermal tissues and blood vessels are damaged without piercing the skin.Elevate the foot, give rest to the part, apply cold compresses, soak the blister in Epsom sale and keep the foot bandaged so as to avoid its rupture. If the blister breaks, quickly rinse the area and apply an antiseptic such as neosporin.
5374556 tn?1367071943 Hard to say from that picture. Only things I can think of are bruise or scrape. If the skin's breaking down, then it could be a pressure ulcer forming from shoes too tight over the area. Your foot and ankle look swollen too. If this isn't going away within a few days to a week, you should ask a doctor about it.
Avatar m tn Tell your friend to get to his doctor immediately! He has diabetic foot ulcer and if it gets infected, he could have to face amputation of the foot and possibly his leg. Don't mess around with waiting for an appointment either! Get him in or take him to the emergency room.
Avatar m tn The fracture clinic wrapped my foot well with roll gauze between each toe to separate them from each other before putting my foot back in the boot and the ulcer was able to dry out and get better.
Avatar f tn I have RA and OA For several months I have been having a reoccurring problem with my foot. I had it on both feet but not at the same time. My left foot seems to be the one that gets it more and worst. It will start with a burning sensation, then later a horrible itch, on the sole of my foot. Then when the itching stops it leaves a perfectly round circle that hurts to walk on or touch. The more I keep my foot raised seems to help.
Avatar n tn Stable glicemic index with an ulcer on diabetic foot but today this white goo apperead inside the ulcer. Someone knows what should I do as it's very complicated to make an earlier appointment with my doctor.
Avatar f tn Monday night, I felt what I thought was a mosquito bite on the side of my right foot, I was sitting at a dinner table so I just moved my foot out of my shoe and scratched it with the other foot, not looking at it. It continued to itch and when I looked at it, I noticed a blister. I went home and examined the blister and ended up popping it. It mad a lesion/ulcer, not sure the term, but I was not a superficial blister.
Avatar m tn m not sure if this is a DVT question but it was a DVT that caused the problem I need help with. I have been dealing with a stasis ulcer on my right ankle for years now. It heals up for a time then breaks open again and it is very painful. I have tried everything from just staying off it to wound care specialists. I normally get it to heal with promogan prisma & Silver alginate but not this time. I wear compression hose to help with blood flow when the ulcer allows.
Avatar f tn she started running a low fever and then it spiked to 103.2 I took her to the quick care hospital I just thought she was running a low fever because she is teething, when the doctor examined her he said she has A1 strep throat! All that night and the next day her fever was up and down. The next morning I was brushing her teeth and i let her hold the tooth brush so she could chew on it!

About 6 weeks ago her eyelid was swollen and a bit red on the outside and it went down within a few days. The coloration has come back on the outside so we looked under her lid and discovered this ulcer looking thing. It will be a few days before we can get to a doctor. Are there any home rememdies we can try for now?
Avatar f tn Pack a couple outfits for baby, pacifiers, infant nail clippers (just in case nails are long), baby book for foot prints, car seat. Hospital usually provides dispers, wipes, and diaper cream. For you a couple outfits and something to go home in, shower stuff, pads unless u use hospitals but there usually bulky. Any medications, cameras, iPad or computer for your use, don't forget charging cords, toothbrush and toothpaste, makeup if needed, hair dryer and hairbrush.
Avatar m tn - stomach cramps / gastric pains below the ribcage at the center area -slightly bloated -gassy, need to burp and pass gas frequently -occasional diarrhoea, very seldom, mostly bowel movements are normal but stools are a bit greenish At first I went to a GP, she prescribed ranitidine, hyoscine butylbromide and eviline forte suspension. However it was not much of a help and I went to the hospital that night for severe stomach cramps/gastric pains.

4939681 tn?1361299299 t reach it with laproscope, so he sent me directly to a GI. GI scheduled an endoscopy to be sure but he believes that it is an esophageal ulcer caused by the multiple abx, most likely doxy. He said most likely I didn't swallow enough water after taking it and it caused a painful ulcer. To be honest, I think he's dead right bc it feels exactly like a very large ulcer! LLMD is in agreement for me to stop doxy for a while while I heal. The pain is so bad that I can not eat.
Avatar n tn I am surprised that your vision is so good. Usually with a bad ulcer, the vision is extremely poor. As long as your ulcer is a bacterial ulcer, you will most likely do well because you are on excellent antibiotics. The problem comes in when there is a fungal or mycobacterial or amoebic ulcer or herpetic. They can be very hard to treat. All I can tell you is that you should see the specialist if the ulcer is not responding to the current treatment.
Avatar f tn That does not sound normal....pregnant or not. I am a director at a hospital and work with ALOT of physicians.....I've never known throwing up blood to be normal. If it were me....I'd go to the ER immediately.
