Common Questions and Answers about Foot ulcer heal

I am a 34 year old male, my general health is good, six years ago I had an injury in my left foot resulting from a screw, the ulcer did not heal easily, I did several operations to ensure the absence of any foreign body. After doing the last operation (last July), the doctor had asked me to walk on my heel to prevent any pressure on the ulcer. The ulcer had fortunately healed, but another ulcer has developed in my heel.
) I am concerned about this non-healing foot ulcer. In diabetics, wounds heal very slowly, or not at all, because of poor glucose control as well as poor blood flow. Your husband is at high risk for another amputation unless very aggressive care is taken of his toes/foot. Please seek out a wound specialist as well as a vascular surgeon as soon as possible to have this evaluated and treated appropriately so that hopefully you can avoid any further surgeries or amputations.
I have a friend of mine in bad health right now. On top of that, he has this "hole" in his foot on his left heel. The heal is all hard and callused, with a hole in the middle of the callus almost 1/2 inch deep and 1/2 inch round. The inside looks very raw like a raw piece of meat. Can I get some help as to what this is and how he can treat it? Thank you!

have severe drop foot on right foot, all 10 toes removed, ulcers just won't heal and have had 8 foot surgeries. My right foot constantly points down making walking down stairs & up hills almost impossible. Had a z-plasty, I think just made things worse. After over 2 years I am TIRED of all the surgeries, the drop foot and the PAIN! Have a wonderful daughter who needs a better Mommy, but I am stuck in bed from pain & exhaustion every day. I really want my right foot completely amputated.
To be honest, I think he's dead right bc it feels exactly like a very large ulcer! LLMD is in agreement for me to stop doxy for a while while I heal. The pain is so bad that I can not eat. I can barely swallow water. GI prescribed a liquid med to coat the ulcer. I have lost more weight. Now down to 91lbs! This ***** as I was doing so well for a while!

I got in a fight with the ice last week and the ice won! My foot went one direction, but my knee went another. Just before I hit the ground, I felt and HEARD a 'pop'! My MRI report reads: "The menisci and cruciate ligaments are intact. High grade proximal medial collateral ligament sprain. The medial retinaculum is nearly completely torn from its femoral attachment. Articular cartilage ulcer at the medial patellar facet.
Hi Thanks for the post. Your husband probably has a diabetic ulcer, which is an ulcer in diabetics that does not heal and is more pronounced if the diabetic is a smoker too. I think you should convince him to see a doctor soon. Please get his blood sugar checked both fasting and 2 hours after food. These ulcers are due to low blood supply to an area and hence do not heal by antibacterial and antifungal creams. Hope this helps. If you need more help, please feel free to contact.
I have some questions Can a Red or Purple Line under my toe where it meets my foot could be the beginings of a Diabetic Ulcer? How Long does Diabetic Foot take to devolope? I am sadly overweight and dont any exercise because I am suffering Agoraphobia and Anxiety! I FEEL I AM GOING MAD SOMETIMES! Please Give me some advice?
B, Diabetics have decreased sensation to their feet due to years of peripheral neuropathy, sometimes the cause can be out of control blood sugar levels. May diabetics can have a huge sore or ulcer to the underside of their foot and not feel it at all. The sensation is gone. It is part of diabetic teaching to do a daily foot check and look any such cuts or places that look worse the next day so antibiotics can be started.
Even favorite sports can cause pressure on nerves. The numbness you feel may be neuropathy (injured nerve) Your doctor is right, you need a break from cycling to see if this will relieve the numbness. If it is from the cycling and you continue to abuse the sensory nerve, you run the risk of permanent damage. Permanent numb butt. Are you male or female? If the tingling in your feet does not relieve pretty quickly - say a week, I would request an MRI of your lumbar spine.
I tried not to feel like that against him but it's hard a couple of years back I had been in and out of the hospital with an ulcer and had several blood transfusions he didn't come to see me or when he did it was only for a little while cause he had to work or he was too tired and please don't get me wrong I knew he had to work it was just his attitude when he was there like it was a bother somehow I've kept it in all this years but now that the shoe was in the other foot he wanted me to be th
When my cat's eyelids close, air gets to a horizontal sliver of his eye where the eyelids meet, and a dry lesion has appeared on one eye which has developed into a keloid scar horizontally across that eye, from blood vessels attempting to heal that dried part of the eye. We must constantly keep both eyes moist with eye drops and special salve to keep them from getting worse.

14 days after sex itchy spots I was floating in the legs and hands, covered with water spots appear, it can not see. they heal after 7 days, just days after an ulcer in your mouth, circle, ring red, the yellow pus. 7 days is not healed. You think I could have HSV 1 and HIV. I'm scared and worried.
My daughter was hit by a car about 10 yrs ago and broke both tibias. One didn't heal because she developed a strep infection in the bone marrow. She has had many surgeries, rods of all sizes, plates, etc. She had her last surgery about 6 mos ago and was told that her leg will never heal and that the rod will have to stay. She complains that the rod hurts her at the knee. Other than pain medication is there something that she can do so that the rod doesn't bother her so much.
I also feel the insides of my body like blood going through my veins. I also have a peptic ulcer but I'm assuming that the later on the famotidine pills i'm taking will heal it, which doesn't worry me too much(only just the growling at night). My right eye feels kind of weak or dizzy or some kind of pain going on.
It does sound like Herpes Simplex 1, (cold sores). This virus fluid will spread by opening them like you say you do. People think these cold sores/fever blisters only happen on the lip. It is contagious during the spread stage & also effects gums, mouth, & also can transfer to cornea of eye. I will delicately say, also in some forms of sex. A cold sore on your lip can heal & 10 yrs activate in the exact same spot. Low immune, injury to tissue, kissing will do this.
Wear loose clothing,no socks, shoes around the house.I got the odd mouth ulcer and was given Gelclair for them to heal. I didn't get any sickness, didn't lose my hair and was usually tired in the 2nd week, but I felt really good on this chemo. My neutrophils took a bit of a battering and my chemo was quite often delayed for a week. You will find your CA125 will probably jump after the first Doxil then start to come down.

Creating a sense of well-being, it helps provide relief from problems due to stress and tiredness. It helps the body heal its injuries, increases blood circulation, releases muscle tension and reduces back pain. That's weird that you say that about your foot, I was just talking to my husband about mine. My son jumped on my foot about 6 months ago when it was sideways on the floor (I was laying on my side with my foot out). To this day it still hurts to put pressure on it. He thinks I am crazy.
Wounds in characteristically well-perfused areas, such the face and neck, may heal surprisingly well despite unfavorable circumstances. Conversely, even a minor wound involving the foot, which has a borderline blood supply, may mark the onset of a long-term nonhealing ulcer. Hypoxia and excessive tension on the wound edges also interfere with wound healing because of local oxygen deficits.
Anyway long story short I have been to the docs many times and ENT at the hospital so far to no avail, my symptoms are oral thrush (tongue mainly) that seems to come and go, its not major, headaches, dizzy spells and an increase with my athletes foot problem which all point to a candida problem. I have had a recent HIV test (again) which my docs kinda wanted me to have, they didn't say it but I could read between the lines so to speak, and it was negative so HIV is not the issue.
Weeks 6-8 I was probably on regular Advil but I tried to only take on an as needed basis to not risk any ulcer-like complications. I was just about fully off the Norco but I keep some at my side always just in case. But haven't needed it in quite sometime now. I'm able to get through my full day of work and things at home with no difficulty now sans the hand issues but those are slowly getting better. As for outside of work, I am actually a competitive air hockey player.
