I have a friend of mine in bad health right now. On top of that, he has this "hole" in his foot on his left heel. The heal is all hard and callused, with a hole in the middle of the callus almost 1/2 inch deep and 1/2 inch round. The inside looks very raw like a raw piece of meat. Can I get some help as to what this is and how he can treat it? Thank you!
I am not a physician, but the mom of a type one and the daughter of a type. I can tell you that my mom has had a sore on her foot that has taken 5 years now to heal. What has helped the most is a wound specialist and skin graphs. I would suggest you get a good second opinion and find a wound specialist and endocrinologist that can help your dad.

m not sure if this is a DVT question but it was a DVT that caused the problem I need help with. I have been dealing with a stasis ulcer on my right ankle for years now. It heals up for a time then breaks open again and it is very painful. I have tried everything from just staying off it to wound care specialists. I normally get it to heal with promogan prisma & Silver alginate but not this time. I wear compression hose to help with blood flow when the ulcer allows.
If there is no sexual activity, it will heal. For example, if we have sex, the ulcer will open and then heal 4-7 days after sex if we abstain from intercourse during that time. My bf and I tried abstaining from sex for 6 weeks, but as soon as we have sex.. the ulcer bleeds and is open and raw again. So in that case, the ulcer was healed and not noticeable after about a week, then we waited another 5 weeks for good measure, but sure enough..

Is it possible that if I had severe gastritis or even ulcers form, that they are not yet healed and this is why most foods are still causing this violent queasy reaction? How long does it take to heal an ulcer (gastric or duodenal?)
Is it possible that I have yeast overgrowth in my stomach?
stomach ulcers need to be treated by your gp with anti ulcer drugs, avoid aspirin and any other drugs that can irritate the ulcer, eg, anti inflamatories, ibuprphen etc. my ulcer took months to heal, avoiding certain irriitants did help, spicy food, alcohol, and acid foods such as citrus fruit. i found that sipping milk slowly eases sudden ulcer pain, however dairy products can cause acid build up in the long run, so do take prescribed medicines.
Hello. I have this really bad mouth ulcer on the inside of my mouth in my cheek. It is right where my teeth is so it's being touched and getting angrier every time I chew etc. it's the first time I have had an ulcer on the inside of my mouth and have noticed on the same side my jaw under it is sore too touch. Could they be related? Someone I work said possibly and I did a quick google search though I didn't click the links.

From what I read u can also benefit from eating the cabbage as well.
before i know it is become an open wound like or an ulcer. i went to the dr on 2 occasion, swabs was taking from the ulcer but all the lab test came back negative. is been 8 months now and ulcer is bigger than a pnney, is very painful, it keeps me awake at night, it made my life measurable. my dr prescribed antibiotic for me but this didn't help me.

I have RA and OA For several months I have been having a reoccurring problem with my foot. I had it on both feet but not at the same time. My left foot seems to be the one that gets it more and worst. It will start with a burning sensation, then later a horrible itch, on the sole of my foot. Then when the itching stops it leaves a perfectly round circle that hurts to walk on or touch. The more I keep my foot raised seems to help.
ve had a small (3mm or so diameter) oval sore on my scrotum for about 4 years. It never seems to heal properly. Its not painful and sometimes its not very noticeable depending on the elasticity of my scrotum. It sometimes resembles a very shallow ulcer - sometimes reddish color and often white/dry skin - but there is a tiny lesion in the middle. If I stretch the skin a bit or exfoliate the lesion weeps a tiny amount of clear fluid.

My mom was recently diagnosed with Hep C associated cirrhosis. She has had some complications, including esophageal varices and ascites. She remains fairly well compensated and does not exhibit symptoms such as fatigue or confusion.
During an endoscopy her doctor also noticed an ulcer and tested her for H pylori (which was positive). He's prescribed Prevpac to kill the bacteria and heal the ulcer.
Monday night, I felt what I thought was a mosquito bite on the side of my right foot, I was sitting at a dinner table so I just moved my foot out of my shoe and scratched it with the other foot, not looking at it. It continued to itch and when I looked at it, I noticed a blister. I went home and examined the blister and ended up popping it. It mad a lesion/ulcer, not sure the term, but I was not a superficial blister.
