338416 tn?1420045702 I've been trying to lose weight the last few months, and it's been very difficult. Every time I lose a pound, I seem to gain it back the next day. So I started running again. At first I started running about seven minutes, until my foot started dragging and I was out of breath. I'm definitely out of condition! Right now I'm up to fifteen minutes before my foot starts dragging. Then I walk the rest of the way.
Avatar f tn I am 21 and i am not the fittest person ever, but i am not awful, i have recently started running again (as the weather is nicer) and i have found that after a shorter and shorter length i time i start to get a stabbing pain in the right side abdomen area, once i stop running then the pain stops but as soon as i start again it comes back. I am easing myself back into running quite slowing i don't run too fast but the pain is really starting to get annoying.
Avatar m tn pain in foot in the morning & from bed while putting foot on the floor heavy pain
Avatar n tn I rolled my left foot in a hole while running in July '09. I have had pain in the left side of my foot in the heel area. I can apply pressure massaging the heel area and feel a sharp pain. I had mornings where my first step out of bed was agonizing pain. The more I walked the more it hurt. I have used ice/heat/ibuprofen and nothing has helped. I started wearing my running shoe to bed on my left foot. I believe it has kept my foot straight at night and allows for healing.
Avatar f tn You can try an ice or cool pack to your feet before and after running, foot powder to help, a foot spray for athletes foot. These things have been known to help. New shoes and socks or these methods does often solve the problem for runners. One other note on shoes is that maybe your feet have grown a tiny bit and so your shoes still fit but are tight, all of them. Too tight shoes can cause this. If that doesn't help, I would say that you need to see a doctor at this point.
Avatar m tn Is back pain from walking or running everyday normal and if not how can i stop the pain because sometimes when i walk Ok r run my lower and upper back starts to hurt
Avatar m tn Anyways, if anyone can chime in I would greatly appreciate it. When the pain pops up, I have to take at least a few days off from running and it is messing with my training. I have my first race coming up on June 9th and am hoping to be able to run in it, while keeping in my mind that I will still have 3 more races to go over the next 3 months.
246923 tn?1249154300 a few weeks ago (1 week and a half) I had a little accident at my school during P.E class, while I was running I twisted my foot and fell down, the whole day was torture since it was really hard to walk...days passed and the pain wouldnt go away, my friend gave me a massage with Bengay (I think that's how it;s called) but the pain won't go away... it is really uncomfortable to walk and very painful...my foot isn't swollen but the pain is not decreasing... My question is...
Avatar m tn I'm a runner and recently got a pain on top of foot, as if my laces were too tight 9they may have been!) recently been doing a lot of off road running on uneven hard surface. it seems to be in the Extensor Hallucis Brevis area and there is a squashy lump the size of a smallish coin in that area, which isn't really painful to touch. If I loosen my laces in that area I can walk and do a bit of running without too much discomfort.
Avatar n tn Hi all. Quick question... Why in the world does my left foot/ankle area hurt EVERY morning when I get out of bed. I had a simliar post about a "weird foot problem" a month or two ago, and it's still bothering me--only worse now. It's like my ankle on that side is so weak. I fell in the flower bed a couple of days ago, and running around the yard with my niece is a scary ordeal because my ankles feel so weak.
Avatar n tn I have plantars fasciitis and for me the pain is at night when I sleep it wakes me up. In the morning or when I walk it is ok, or somewhat painful. The pain is on the bottom of my foot at the heel just near the arch in the daytime and at night at the back of the heel when I am laying on my back. I bought some walking shoes for plantars fasciitis and they have running shoes at orthofeet.com. You need to stretch your achilles tendon basically too.
Avatar f tn t be on my feet for more than one hour before the pain gets horrendous! If I have to be on my feet for longer, I am limping in pain. And when I sit down and get back up, I can't walk on the foot because of the pain! I do not have the typical morning pain associated with PF. Did I mention that I work in a garden center and am usually on my feet for 8-9 hours at a time! I do not know what to do anymore!
Avatar m tn Patients with Achilles tendonitis usually experience the most significant pain after periods of inactivity.Patients will also experience pain while participating in activities, such as when running or jumping. Achilles tendonitis pain associated with exercise is most significant when pushing off or jumping. Arch pain early in the morning is due to the plantar fascia becoming contracted and tight as you sleep through the night. X-RAYS and MRI help in making diagnosis.
2026060 tn?1328918475 If you develop a side stitch when running, stop running and place your hand into the right side of your belly and push up while inhaling and exhaling evenly. As you run or swim, try to take even, deep breaths. The stretched ligament theory would argue that shallow breathing tends to increase the risk of a stitch because the diaphragm is always slightly raised and never lowers far enough to allow the ligaments to relax.
Avatar n tn Do you have any instep problems?? My foot rolls out when I walk and this was giving me problems in my knee when I walked. I went to a 'propper' athletics shoe store and actually spoke to someone who knew the ins and outs of all the shoes. They fited me with a pair of joggers that counteracted my rolling out and I immediatly noticed the difference in my knee while walking.
Avatar n tn I have been getting a searing hot pain in my heal when doing push ups in the morning before running and I'm not sure what it is?
Avatar f tn I woke up about 5am this morning with a sharp pain in my toe next to the pinky toes . The pain is so severe i screamed out in pain. About 2 weeks ago i did purchase new running shoes but i havent tested them out at the gym yet. Ive been wearing them everyday at work though. The pain occurs every 5 mins and just as painful as the first time. My foot seems normal no swelling or discoloration. Please help.
Avatar n tn Many years ago while playing softball I jumped and pulled a groin muscle. It felt and was diagnosed as a hernia. But it was not. It turned out to be a pulked tendon in the groin. I had tremmendous pain and it took months for it to heal. This could be your similar problem. They are difficult to diagnose and takes a long time of careful walking to heal. Good luck.
Avatar f tn It is literally just localized to that one are and it is not my whole ankle or foot. When I walk on just the upper part of my foot there is no pain as well as sitting and twisting my foot around there is no pain. As I stay off of it it does not get worse and it actually felt a little better this Thursday morning. Although the pain increases on it as I use it more. I am very concerned and I am running a half marathon this coming Sunday.
730826 tn?1317943334 I am not sure what other symptoms you may have, or what correlation there is to running, but when I put tongue pain into the new Medhelp symptom tracker, the 7 possible causes were: tongue problems, Glossitis, iron deficiency anemia, folate deficiency anemia, Pernicious anemia, Megaloblastic anemia, and Chlorine Poisoning. Most of these are one form or another of anemia. You may want to see your doctor about checking levels in your blood.
1017324 tn?1390936445 Over-straining the foot as in running could be the cause. Foot pain can also be due to arthritis. Faulty foot wear is another cause: the top portion of the foot could be rubbing against the shoes. Since a confirmed diagnosis cannot be given on net please consult your doctor regarding this. Hope this helps. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you.
1470596 tn?1286713970 I had this problem and realised thanks to my physio, that I overpronated when running. This can cause knee problems which is why I needed to buy shoes with arch support which stops the foot rolling inwards. For walking you can buy orthotic insoles but I would not recommend running with these. I use Adistar Salvations to run. A good running shop will check you for pronation before you buy. Also this might seem obvious but are you stretching before and after running.
Avatar m tn I have a strange intermittent and recurring pain in the front right part of my foot ie directly under the toe. When the pain starts I can feel a muscle propping up in the same area.Pain becomes excruciating if I try to run(only when I use the front part of the foot and don't land on my heels).I have to appear for a physical exam for admittance in the army in January. Please help!!!
Avatar f tn ve been out all day running errands and walking too much. My original pain and reason for Percs was b/c of a foot injury. Then I just started lying and saying my foot was still hurting when it wasn't so I could get HIGH. Well, today it is in pain just b/c I've been on it too long and have snow boots on (not much support) Anyway, just took 3 Ibuprofen. Woooo hoooo...party on Motrin. LOL .
Avatar m tn Its definitely more intense in my right foot (the one with the bubble) then my left. But there is only pain when running/jumping. Sometimes I slightly feel it when walking down the stairs but its very light, maybe its even in my head. Help.
