333672 tn?1273792789 I guess I'm on a roll with the posts tonight. Just wondering if anyone has any experience with reflexology or knows anything about it. As far as I can tell, it's a kind of foot massage where stimulating different points on the foot is supposed to have different effects. I have a friend who's studying reflexology and needs people to practice on so she wants to use my husband and me as guinea pigs.
Avatar n tn Is any body suffering from severe pelvic pain at 36+ week. I am suffering its like hell cannot even walk without crutches and also swollem foot. Do anybody know any remedies.
Avatar f tn I didn't like reflexology. My feet were in pain for a while afterwards, because the CFS made me sensitive. My guess is for you that the physical stress from the pain of the reflexology triggered up the cfs a bit. It doesn't have to be a lot of pain to trigger. A cfs's body's reaction to pain & changes is not normal (studies have actually shown this).
1979418 tn?1432135441 ) Looking at reflexology.... always been a big believer in the ancient healing arts. Been dealing with foot cramps this year (hey not the horrible crippling leg spasms of last summer, so no complaints!!!), and my hubby has been helping with foot and calf massage. Couple times he has hit a few spots where you literally can feel the nerve connection up to almost my eyeballs.
7557112 tn?1399509472 I hear walking...we walked my cousin through the mall and got her this foot massage (reflexology) that was suppose to help with contractions. It worked! Just 7 hours later she went into labor. But keep in mind, people can be 1 cm for awhile so don't get too frustrated.
Avatar f tn Unlike your presentation, bowel movements do not follow pain episodes closely. Could pain in my gut somehow be cross-wired to my left foot?
230972 tn?1224470126 Reflexology to induce labor If you need help getting your labor started, the answer may be in your feet. Reflexology has been shown to help induce labor and reduce pain during childbirth. In fact, more and more nurses are beginning to learn this specialized type of foot massage and are using it in delivery rooms around the world to ease their patients’ discomfort and reduce the length of labor.
Avatar f tn Google images of foot reflexology, and hands too for the fun of it. They are the nerve endings and you will see the root of your problem.
Avatar f tn I alleviate this with Chinese foot massages. Try them. Reflexology works. They work the soles of the feet and on up through your central nervous system and pressure points. I don't like using medication. I do have a little heart murmur and I use to faint a lot. I try to keep my stress level low and reflexology helps. Try it!
8026978 tn?1396325900 My cousin got some type of foot massage (I think it was called foot reflexology or something like that) last year that is suppose to bring on labor. She got the massage at noon by 6pm that evening she went into labor. She swears by it! LOL!
398532 tn?1231463960 ve heard a lot of people say that you should not have a foot massage during pregnancy... I tried to find some information online and I can't seem to find any real proof... What do you ladies think? Has anyone ever told you its bad or could cause contractions? Is it only the first trimester or the entire pregnancy? My over bearing mother-in-law is driving me crazy about it...
Avatar f tn In my opinion contractions feel like cramps that last longer. The pain starts off mild (I think I feel something) then it begins to increase (oh boy this must be a contraction) wow this is intense, and then it slowly fades out..
Avatar f tn Hi I have an appointment to have some foot reflexology. Currently 37 weeks pregnant. Has anyone tried it and does anyone know if it brings on labour?
Avatar m tn Herbs can be used for any pain and a cranial osteopath should be consulted with. Having said that reflexology has produced miraculous results having Reiki alongside will speed things up.
Avatar f tn Hi! I was in a car crash in May 2013 and got whiplash, I was taken to the hospital in an ambulance, they did tests and said I was ok but noticed that I had 2 fused vertebrae from a previous car crash about 10 years before. Ever since this recent crash I've had nerve problems, from the top of my head all the way down to my hips hurt, then turned into a kind of 'itchy' feeling for a week and then into 'pins and needles'.
Avatar f tn So had my reflexology and although it has eased the pelvic pain slightly still no sign of anything starting
Avatar f tn I've booked in for labour inducing reflexology tomorrow at 2.. I was wondering if anyone has had it before and if it did anything? I know it's not 100% but I was gonna go for a massage anyway haha!!
Avatar f tn I've heard that foot reflexology can have an effect on inducing pregnancy, that there's certain pressure points within the feet. (Is that why it's unadvisable for women in their late third trimester not to have pedicures?) Maybe she should have a pedicure! Seriously though, I think this is an old wives' tale, so this is not true advice. I wish her all the luck at birth and congrats!
Avatar f tn The stuff I use is called reflexology foot massage with tea tree oil, wild mint and lavender...
Avatar f tn another thought, go and get a foot massage/reflexology done and get then to concentrate on your points for your uterus or go and get some acupuncture done
Avatar f tn I have had 4 sessions of reflexology over the last 2 months and am currently on day 24 of my cycle. Started using the CB monitor this month and was surprised to get 2 peak days on days 21 & 22?! As my phase Inbetween O day and visit from AF is 14 days (previously using standard ovulation tests) i am expecting AF to arrive in 14 days so around cycle day 35 which would be a significant shorter cycle than usual!! Has anybody else had success with reflexology shortening cycles?
Avatar f tn I was going to massage therapy school but had to drop, and be careful of foot rubs, getting into the reflexology part of it we learned there is a spot on the side of the ankle that relates to the overies and uterus and can send a woman into labor.
Avatar f tn You could also try acupuncture or a really firm foot massage/reflexology let the know your overdue and to concentrate on the uterus points :)
237053 tn?1258828426 I had forgotten about my 'massages' - just rang a bell when I read 'skarey's' posts - the lady that does/did my massage said exactly the same thing - tight neck/head/chest muscles - she actually said 'your body feels stiff ' - and advised me to drink plenty of water.
Avatar f tn Acupucture and/or a foot massage with them doing your pressure points (reflexology) should help if your ready to go :).
