Avatar n tn When foot pain occurs under the ball of the foot, the medical term is metatarsalgia. Foot pain can be caused by increased pressure on the metatarsal heads. This can be due to constricting foot wear or high heel shoes. Other conditions that can cause foot pain include ligament injuries and joint irritation. These problems can also be relieved with more accommodating footwear.

Avatar f tn Nearly two years later, I am not able to walk properly or much without pain in that there is a callus under the foot in the I think "third metatarsal" area. The operation was on the 2nd toe, the toe next to my big toe. It was a small hammer toe. The result of the failed Weil is: floating hammer toe, the toe is much shorter than the other toes, so I am walking on only four toes.
Avatar m tn I am pretty sure I have a severe case of Metatarsalgia on my right foot. I went to see a specialist and he recommended aetrex memory foam Orthotics and some Physical Therapy. Physical Therapy is treating me for Plantar Fasciitis. They also recommended I wear Metatarsal pads, which I have tried. Without a metatarsal pad and using memory foam insoles the 3rd and 4th toe on my foot feels tingly every time I walk.

Avatar n tn Burning feet are a common complaint and can be caused by a number of conditions - some are local and minor, and some are more serious. Burning feet can keep people awake at night and be a source of continuous pain. It is more common in those over the age of 50 years, but a burning foot can occur in younger age groups. Burning feet are more common in those with diabetes as part of the neuropathy (nerve damage) that can develop.
Avatar n tn Hello, I am someone who loves to workout, and I tend to train pretty hard. I'm 31, 6'4" tall, and weigh about 245 lbs, but a lot of that weight is muscle. I've been into body building for the last 10 years or so. I usually run 3-4 miles daily on a treadmill and lift weights about 5 days per week. A little over a month ago I was doing a jumping program to increase my vertical leap but stopped suddenly because I having some pain in my feet... but more so in my right foot.
Avatar f tn Hi, For a couple years I've had chronic pain in my right toe joint, I've been tested for a bunch of things including gout and have been to physio, and they said it was injured, however I did not do anything to injure it at all. I am waiting on a bone scan but I really don't think it's going to show anything, since it doesn't feel like there's anything wrong with my bones, it's seems to be coming within the joint and then the whole area around it gets inflamed.
801285 tn?1518720867 painful soles indicate metatarsal head pain "metatarsalgia". there is supposed to be fat padding beneath this area. when people yo-yo diet, they lose fat to the plantar feet. however, when they gain weight..it doesn't gain back into the plantar feet. when there is less fat padding to the soles, the metatarsal heads hit the ground harder.

Avatar f tn This knot does not hurt. Could this be the source of my pain? My foot actually hurts more toward the outside and where the heel starts. The heel itself is not really painful. Also, my foot feels like it is going to get a cramp in more now. Is the knot any cause for concern? Thanks for your advice.
Avatar f tn Has anyone had foot pain, as if the whole bottom of your foot is bruised. I also have Type 2 Diabetes but tested negative for neuropathy a couple of years ago. Do have painful feet, mostly at night until recently. Stood 2 days to cut out patterns and now every time istand for any time, it gets worse again. If I soak it in warm water, is better until I stand again. This is mainly in the left foot.
Avatar n tn Hi, I'm 15 years old and I've been having foot pain on the middle top part of my foot for about 2 years now. The foot pain is only present with strenuous exercise, especially after a long period of rest. When there is pain, some burning feeling is also present. I think that this pain started when I either dropped some textbooks on my foot or when I jumped down on it too hard. There is no swelling or redness.
470872 tn?1207414069 Can Osteoporosis cause severe foot pain? I am finding that both my feet are very painful to walk on and have swelling in the mid foot area. I also have pain in the ankles. I have had an MRI scan a few weeks ago but have to wait until the end of August for my results appointment with the Orthopaedic Consultant. An untrasound did not show any sign of damage to the plantar fascia.

315737 tn?1407298997 Thank you for the interest. I still have foot soreness but my numbness has mostly gone away and the foot pain is not as pronounced. I think that might be a combination of personal care, and taking some supplements prescribed by my doctor. I take Vitamin D and Folic acid. I have borderline gout blood work which is what this was prescribed for.
