Avatar f tn What other symptoms do you have? apart from sciatica (leg and foot problems) do you have pain in your lower back, bum, groin, hip ? Can u bend forward touch your toes for instance ot does that bring the leg pain on? No harm in a second opinion, but I would NOT have surgery without knowing where the nerve was impinged.

Avatar f tn For the past week or 2, IV been getting really painful shooting pain in my lower back (left side mostly). It happens only when I'm walking barefoot and I step with my left foot. It's not constant, it's just like IV stepped on a certain area (heel) of the foot that then sends the pain up to my lower left side. Is this something I should worry about or is it normal?
405614 tn?1329144114 Soon, my whole foot was aching, and pain was radiating up my calf. Went back to room and iced the ankle, and from the limping I did, ended up icing my lower back and my knee. Oy! I'll keep putting the Arnica and ice on today, and will be gentle with it when I go to watch a soccer match tonight. I see my PCP on Tuesday, so if it is still bothering me, she can decide if I need an X-ray. Aside from that, it was a good trip!
Avatar m tn For the last year I have had episodes of severe pain in my right buttock with foot and leg numbness occuring about once a week. For the past 6 months it occurs every morning. My surgeon tells me it is caused by weak back muscles. I've been through a physical therapy program 3 times, My back pain does subside some but doesn't totally go away. I perform back excerses twice a week with little or no improvement. I also have leg heaviness when standing or walking.
1270838 tn?1270571561 I was considering asking my GP for another MRI to see if the damage has changed or gotten worse, as the symptoms this time have been very different from the ones I had last August when the injury first occurred. What is an EMG study? I haven't heard of this yet, I don't think. Does it involve eletrical current? The maim thing that is scaring me is that I don't want this nerve pain to start ascending from my foot into my leg.
Avatar f tn I went to an othro 2 weeks ago who specializes in foot/ankle he sent me for an EMG to look for tarsel tunnel, the neurologist did the EMG from hip to foot and found nothing. He suggested I next have an MRI on lower back to look for a pinched nerve. I don't have any lower back pain except when I bend over and stand up and the back is stiff. Am I wasting my money and time having an MRI on lower back? The neurologist said 2nd thing he would do would be an MRI on brain.
Avatar m tn Difficult in walking because pain when twisted the foot inwards to the legs. The pain comes from the back side of my foot. What do you think is my problem? The pain is almost 2 months already. Thanks for the help.
Avatar m tn I have continuous pain in my foot, it is consuming my life. Can anyone tell me where to get help?
645390 tn?1338555377 She thinks lots of my symptoms (leg, foot pain, hand/arm tingling, poor gait/mobility) are still from the cervical spondyl Myelapathy. I had the surgery 2 months ago now, but she feels it may take a long time for these symptoms to get better. She wants me to go to physical therapy for strengthening and stretching my leg and foot. It is spastic, and needs some therapy. The surgeon told me NONE of these symptoms are from the cervical spine, and felt I need to go see a neurologist again.
Avatar n tn My friend suffers from Left Foot Drop due to a back surgery of his left L3-L4 and L4-L5 disks. He has the following history: • 02/15/2000-CT of Lumbar • 02/22/2000-EMG: Positive on lumbar L4-5 root compromise bilaterally. • 02/25/2000-EVALUATION: Lower back pain, RIGHT leg pain…CT shows large herniated disc, L4-5, with some stenosis.
Avatar f tn Thanks for your response. I have seen many doctors, but I can't seem to find someone who will really give me the time to look at the whole picture. Two years ago they said that it was plantar fasciitis(normal x-Ray but MRI showed some mild plantar fasciitis, had shots and months of PT and Home stretching and icing. Months later I went to another doctor who did another xray and on scan that showed fractures in both calcaneus .
Avatar m tn I have been having back pain and spasms just above my right hip with pain down the front of my leg. That comes and goes with tingling in my right foot. Now today I have tingling in my left fingers. Went to ER and the xrayed my back and told me I had a compression in #12 disk and had to do a mri. So they did an mri and another doc came in and told me it was an old injury and my back wasnt causing my pain ???????

Avatar f tn I was involved in a car accident back in May 2010 and have had low back pain and sciatica ever since. I had an MRI done in May that showed everything was normal... My spine hurts to touch and have pain all the way to my toes on the right side. I have tried many things and if anything it feels like it is getting worse. Sometimes when walking my foot goes numb and I will fall ect. I do not understand if everything is normal why does it hurt so bad? PLEASE HELP!

176495 tn?1301280412 So, I went to the doctor yesterday due to my recurrent back pain (which got me on vicodin to begin with you may or may not recall)..I'd gone to the ER 2 weeks ago and they gave me ultram and skelaksan (sp?)..which helped some, but yesterday turned out to be a particularly painful day to where I was feeling pain down my right leg and across my lower back..
Avatar n tn If you had foot drop you would have to physically pick up you foot and drop in back down or drag it and you would probably be tripping over things. Can you heal walk? I have an L5/S1 herniatioin also, i have alot of paresthesias in my lower extremities and was experiencing not being able to heal walk for awhile, but not quite foot drop. I think this is the L5 nerve and the S1 is the toe walking if im not mistaken, maybe kitty will see this and correct me if im wrong.
457721 tn?1256640798 Hello. I am a 23 year old with SEVERE, chronic back pain. About 5 years ago I was involved in a car accident that I never should have walked away from. As a result, I have a slipped disc in my lower back. On top of all this I have minor scoliosis. For about the past two months I have had the most horrible lower back pain that I have had since my car accident. I have been unable to bend over and have had to squat at the knees just to pick my daughter up.
Avatar n tn Hi, I'm 15 years old and I've been having foot pain on the middle top part of my foot for about 2 years now. The foot pain is only present with strenuous exercise, especially after a long period of rest. When there is pain, some burning feeling is also present. I think that this pain started when I either dropped some textbooks on my foot or when I jumped down on it too hard. There is no swelling or redness.
