Avatar f tn Six months later I was diagnosed with fractures in both heels and have been in two casts, crutches and another walking boot. I am still in pain! I just had an MRI that shows Marrow Edema in four bones of my foot. What does this mean? I do not see the Dr. again for two weeks! I can't be on my feet for any length of time with suffering excruciating pain!
Avatar f tn After 7 months of casts, crutches and Cam walker boots, the pain does not seem to be any better. New MRI shows Marrow Edema in four different bones in my left foot! I have not gotten any info from my doctor yet, but I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts. I can't be on my feet for more than a couple of hours with out having really bad pain and limping. I am very frustrated to say the least!
Avatar m tn I am having all sorts of pain in my foot and leg and can't seem to get a diagnosis. So far, I've seen two podiatrists, neurologst, PCP, and will see an orthopedic surgeon in about a month. Last year I rolled over my big toe with a pallet jack that had a pallet on it at an old job. Well at the time it didn't break my foot or cause any bruising or any type of problem that required medical attention so I let it go.
Avatar n tn Is it regular edema or pitting edema? Pitting is when you press on an area and it stays depressed for a few minutes. In non-pitting edema, which usually affects the legs or arms, pressure that is applied to the skin does not result in a persistent indentation. Non-pitting edema can occur in certain disorders of the lymphatic system such as lymphedema, which is a disturbance of the lymphatic circulation that may occur after a mastectomy, lymph node surgery, or congenitally.
Avatar f tn Does edema from hepatitis happen on both feet or can it happen with just one foot? My right foot is swollen with no obvious sign of injury.
Avatar m tn I had pain in the second toe which I think is causing pain at the ball of the foot too. I went to an orthopedic and he recommend an MRI as the XRay didnt show anything. I was asked to wear a custom made orthotics with a metatarsal pad but that does not seem to helping in relieving the pain either. What can i do to heal the foot? Below is the MRI report.
Avatar f tn Seven weeks ago my left foot and ankle suddenly became swollen with pain, mostly when I try to put on shoes or plantarflex my foot. This is pitting edema of my left foot and ankle with no injury, no bug bite, and no discoloration. Elevating my foot helps some but not much. I have tried compression stockings, but it causes pain to the top of my foot and ankle. Gout has been rulled out, and there is nothing to suggest an infection.
Avatar f tn What can I do beside rest?
Avatar f tn My left had traces of edema but now its catching up to the R foot. I figured it was because I put more weight on my r side then my left when I stand.
Avatar n tn He is having a great deal of groin pain, and difficulty walking on his leg. He also had foot edema. Is this a common side effect. He is very lethargic. The good part is the atrial fibrillation is gone.
Avatar n tn For the past two years, my right foot gets swolen, when compared to my left foot. My regular physician, and she is an excellent one, had an ultrasound and mri done along with xrays. I also had an EKG done as part of my physical. She informed me that she didn't find a problem; I should accept it as part of the growing old process. (All my life, my right foot has always been bigger (!) than my left foot). I am still concerned. I would appreciate your advice. Thank you.
Avatar n tn In February of this year I broke my ankle. It required ORIF with plate and screw. After 8 weeks the cast was removed revealing an almost black to purple foot and ankle. The Doc diagnosed it as RSD and sent me to see a neurologist. I received 4 nerve blocks, and the color was returning to normal, the swelling was decreasing. The pain remained significant, but I rode it. The Doc then sent me to Therapy.

Avatar f tn what can cause feet with edema caused from right sided chf to become very red?
Avatar f tn You should consult with your doctor as you have multiple issues (dysphagia, chest pain, abdominal pain, and foot edema), and it is difficult to tell if these are related or separate issues without a detailed clinical history and physical examination. Regarding dysphagia, consider tests such as barium swallow, modified barium swallow, and/or upper endoscopy.

Avatar f tn I was having a lot of foot and hip pain also and just figured it came with pregnancy but I then seen a chiropractor and he said my pelvis was twisted which is common in pregnancy and was causing the extreme pain in my hips and foot. He recommended I see a reflexologist to correct before baby comes because it will make labour much more painful if I deliver with a twisted pelvis.
Avatar f tn massages, acupuncture, special socks, drinking lots of fluids, contrasting showers, putting feet up, no hills naturally, but nothing seems to help. It was mainly her right foot that swells, but recently, her left foot started to swell very fast, and the swelling does not go away. Moreover, she started feeling pain in her feet/legs when walking fast. Does this mean her condition worsens? What is the worst scenario that could happen?
Avatar f tn I had a total hip replacement 12/09/2010 and have had foot and ankle edema since. Within the last few months, I have developed foot and ankle edema in the left foot as well. I do not have any liver or pancreatic disease but just found out that I do have a gallstone. I have no symptoms pertaining to the gallstone. I have Hypothyroidism and am on Levothyroxin 100 mcg Monday through Friday, 50 mcg on Saturday and none on Sunday.
Avatar f tn The ankle does not discolor when elevated, however the pitting edema does not go away when the foot is elevated, even after being elevated all night. Do you still consider this normal? Also, the comment his doctor made about it being normal for the ankle to still do this as far as 8 or months out, do you feel this is accurate? Thank you again.
Avatar f tn Yes, perpheral and/or lung edema is most probable the result of heart failure. I experienced edema as a sign and symptom of heart failure. Lung edema will cause a dry cough, and when lying down there can be a sensation of not getting enough air and cause hyperventilation. Also, edema can indicate disease of the heart, liver, thyroid, lymphatic system or kidneys (causing salt retention).
Avatar m tn I just had 3650cc removed and I was in such bad pain it was unreal. Also my ascites did not effect my foot and ankle edema..for that I take lasix and potassium. As far as making your Mom dehydrated from the ascites removal..I also had problems..they gave me 3 infusments of saline with potassium and magnesium added because they were critically low. Each infusment took any where from 4-6 hours....it has to be a slow drip.
