Avatar m tn I even had sinus tarsi debridement surgery in my right foot. I have tried chiropractor, physical therapy, and I am now going for Active Release Therapy. I was wondering if anyone had a similar case out there. I am desperate for answers. My ankle never swells. I just have a deep ache. I've also had blood work to rule out rheumatic diseases, but that also is normal. Any advice anyone could offer would be greatly appreciated.

Avatar f tn t working together properly, either. So in addition to the vestibular therapy, I had therapy for Convergence Insufficiency. When an object was within a certain distance from my face, my eyes wouldn't work together to keep the object in focus. There are other issues related to convergence where the eyes don't work well together. Good luck to you. That's great that you'll have an eye exam with someone experienced with head injuries. Avatar f tn Hi Nita, You should use cold therapy and compression therapy to get swelling and inflammation down, this will help relieve a lot of the pain and allow blood to flow unconstricted to the ankle to repair the damaged tissues. Give your ankle lots of rest and increase blood flow as gentle as possible without risking reaggravation. I used the blood flow stimulator in the link below as well as their cold packs, I highly recommend them! http://www.kingbrand.com/Ankle_Injury_Pain.php?
Avatar m tn Tried some slow pace walking today on the treadmill and the outside of my ankle /bottom heel area of my foot started tingling. Wondering if this is normal for a sprain. I tried looking for enough but could not find munch on outside of the ankle tingling all was about the inside of the ankle.
Avatar n tn He said that was probably something I was born with. He said he did not know what was wrong with my foot and sent me to see a foot and ankle specialist. They ordered an ultrasound to rule out blood clots and there were not any. Now the foot and ankle specialist does not know what is wrong with my foot. I am not able to walk much on my foot and I can not put my toes to the floor. When I do walk on it, I have to walk on the side of my foot because the pain is so bad.

Avatar n tn Hi, I have a pain in my right foot. It is on the top of my foot and only last a few seconds then goes away. Seems to happen most when I am relaxed or laying down. I can't recall any injuries, there is no bruising and does not hurt to touch or press. It is quite painful while it's happening and has been going on for the last 3 days. Does anyone know what this might be or how I can stop it from happening?
Avatar f tn My son is now almost 13, when he was approx 6 we were told he had webbed feet as 2 toes on either foot appeared to be shorter.
Avatar f tn My daughter was diagnosed with a grade 1 fracture of the growth plate in her left foot after a soccer game injury. There has been nothing found seen on the X-rays or mri scans but based on pain and symptoms was diagnosed as such. She has been in a walking boot off and on for 5-6 weeks. Injury occurred 8 weeks ago. Dr’s have said the injury should be healed and no clear answer as to why pain persists. We have tried non weight bearing with crutches for a week too and pain continues.

Avatar f tn I liked all of your suggestions, particularly the idea of strengthening the muscles that control the movement of the foot at the ankle. The problem is that the ankle is just a very vulnerable structure-- carrying all of the weight of the body on a thin pile of bones, with a few ligaments along the sides... As you said at the start, once a severe ankle injury has occurred, one must take care to avoid further injury-- not find ways to block the pain and allow more injury to occur.

Avatar f tn A bone splinter refers to an abnormal bone fragment (usually occurs secondary to injuries/ fractures) which may be associated with any of the bones or the ankle joint. The seriousness and the management would depend on the size and the location of the fragment. This is best discussed in detail with your treating doctor. Hope this information helps. Take care!
Avatar n tn Other conditions that can cause foot pain include ligament injuries and joint irritation. These problems can also be relieved with more accommodating footwear. Treatment of foot pain often consists of anti-inflammatory medications, footwear modifications, and inserts for your shoes. Metatarsal pads help to take pressure off the ball of the foot. If some simple steps do not alleviate your symptoms, you should see your doctor to ensure you are receiving adequate treatment.
Avatar m tn Surprisingly, after the acute pain dissipated I developed serious aching pain from my mid thigh down to the foot. Lately I have also noticed that I have pitting edema = 45 seconds in that same ankle. I am 43, male, have a history of a factor 12 defficiency making me hypercoagulable, have had two DVT's and am now on lifelong coumadin therapy with a theraputic INR. I do not have any leg pain from flexing my ankle and no widespread swelling of the leg or thigh.
Avatar f tn Hi, Every couple of months I get a mild, but noticeable sensation on the bottom of my right foot. It feels like pressure/burning, and happens in my arch. Every disorder I've seen on the internet talks about having moderate to severe pain, but what I'm feeling is more of an annoyance. I sprained my ankle badly two years ago (took a month to be able to walk a LITTLE bit), and I still occasionally get pain in my ankle, but this burning/pressure in my arch started about 3 months ago.

Avatar m tn There is pain, tenderness and swelling at the outer border of the foot, most marked at the site of 5th metatarsal. Diagnosis is easy by an X-ray. Treatment is by below knee walking plaster cast for 3 weeks. Take care!
Avatar m tn In the cases presented it was their legs. It is healing leg injuries! Usually, in horses, having leg injuries is a death notice. We have not found out if they have started using humans, but if they haven't yet, it is just a matter of time. I am very interested in this as the treatment for the HepC almost killed me, my viral load has more than doubled, and my own immune system is fighting my liver and making it worse.
