Avatar n tn Other conditions that can cause foot pain include ligament injuries and joint irritation. These problems can also be relieved with more accommodating footwear. Treatment of foot pain often consists of anti-inflammatory medications, footwear modifications, and inserts for your shoes. Metatarsal pads help to take pressure off the ball of the foot. If some simple steps do not alleviate your symptoms, you should see your doctor to ensure you are receiving adequate treatment.
Avatar n tn He said that was probably something I was born with. He said he did not know what was wrong with my foot and sent me to see a foot and ankle specialist. They ordered an ultrasound to rule out blood clots and there were not any. Now the foot and ankle specialist does not know what is wrong with my foot. I am not able to walk much on my foot and I can not put my toes to the floor. When I do walk on it, I have to walk on the side of my foot because the pain is so bad.
Avatar n tn Though it is possible to get mortons neuroma twice in the same foot; other possibilities such as fractures, ligament/ tendon injuries, infections, inflammations like fasciitis etc, spur formation, heel fat pad syndrome, arch issues etc may also need to be considered as possible diagnoses to the symptoms. I would suggest consulting an orthopedician for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate management. Hope this helps. Take care!
Avatar m tn If there is redness there is probably infection. There is a problem with foot injuries because oral antibiotics generally do not have sufficient strength to deal with infections in the extremities, which often require intravenous medications. So the answer is yes, you definitely require medical attention. If the infection goes into the bones and you develop osteomyelitis you may have to have your foot amputated so this is not an insignificant issue. Go to general quarters.
Avatar n tn Hi, I have a pain in my right foot. It is on the top of my foot and only last a few seconds then goes away. Seems to happen most when I am relaxed or laying down. I can't recall any injuries, there is no bruising and does not hurt to touch or press. It is quite painful while it's happening and has been going on for the last 3 days. Does anyone know what this might be or how I can stop it from happening?

3851566 tn?1348338001 Well, without a clinical evaluation it would be difficult to determine the cause of your symptoms. The incident could have resulted in a fracture or minor injuries such as ligament tears etc. I would suggest getting this evaluated by a doctor for an accurate diagnosis an appropriate management. Meanwhile I would suggest resting the foot and restricting weight bearing. Ice-packs and tylenol may be helpful for pain relief. Hope this is helpful. Take care!

Avatar n tn org/diseases-conditions/plantar-fasciitis/symptoms-causes/syc-20354846 It often starts in the back of the foot. (have had this as well, started in my heel). It hurts. If all of that can be ruled out, then yes, you need to be evaluated for DVT. When you look at the symptom list, you really only have the pain. Avatar f tn I dropped a shampoo bottle on the top of my foot about two weeks back. I had an x ray, and it confirmed a stress line, of the cuneiform bone of foot. I was put in a cast for two weeks. I am now in a crepe bandage for a week. It is very pain and it really hurts on weight bearing. It is also painful at the back of my leg when I walk. Could you explain what a stress line is? and how long it will take to heal. I have bechets disease and I am on azathioprine treatment.
Avatar f tn I agree with Remar, I would see a doctor, you may have had some minor internal injuries to the foot and that needs to be taken care of.
Avatar m tn The symptoms are likely to be due to separate issues than a common cause. Foot pain can be caused due to injuries, infections, inflammations, arthritis, neuro-muscular causes etc. Ringing in ears could develop from another set of causes such as ear wax, infections, vascular bruit, excessive or loud noise, meniere’s disease, acoustic neuroma, ototoxic medications etc. Breathing restriction could result from causes related to the respiratory tract or neuro-muscular issues.
Avatar n tn In a chronic subdural collection, the problem is not discovered immediately as blood leaks from the veins slowly over time. The initial bleed is too small to give symptoms. The symptoms of chronic subdural hematoma begin several weeks after the initial bleeding. I would strongly recommend you to consult a neurologist. Get a MRI and also get your blood pressure checked. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted.
Avatar n tn I was walking up the stairs when all of the sudden my left foot couldn't hold my weight and my ankle hurt. The pain went further up the outside of my leg , half way up my knee. I hobbled up the rest of the stairs and then after a little while it went away. Then I took a step and it happened again. Then my ankle swelled... over night the swelling went down. I sprained my ankle really bad about 5 years ago, but not recently. I play soccer about once a week. Help what could this be?
Avatar n tn As there is very little soft tissue to protect the top of the foot, bone injuries are common. The second, third and fourth Metatarsals are the most commonly injured bones due to something falling on your foot. Without any fracture you would need physiotherapy and anti inflammatory medications to decrease the pain and inflammation. I would also suggest you to wear proper footwear. Take care!
