Common Questions and Answers about Foot injuries soccer

foot

Avatar f tn To minimize the amount of trauma, it is advised to wear soccer shoes with adequate foot heel and arch support and adequate padding especially in the front. I would suggest consulting a sports medicine specialist or an orthopedician for an evaluation to rule out serious injuries and appropriate specific management, if required. Meanwhile you may try resting and immobilizing the foot and keeping it elevated. Use of crepe bandage may be helpful with this.
Avatar m tn I am putting on weight around my tummy- what do I do to get that off. Exercise is good but due to my soccer injuries- leg fractures , knee injuries prevents extensive exercise routines. I am 58 years old a busy work individual.
Avatar m tn Running forward aggravates it, but running side-step does not (except when I plant hard on my right foot to begin side-stepping left). Squatting/standing from seated position can cause pain. Pain flairs sometimes just when I get out of bed. 43 yr - Male - played competitive level soccer for over 30 years. Recently tennis. No previous - serious knee injuries. Hoping to get insights from this community before paying to see an Ortho. Any sugestions?
Avatar f tn I was playing soccer when i went into a tackle my Body got twisted around but my foot and lower leg stayed still. I felt a massive pain through my knee on the inside of my knee and heard and felt a snap. My team mates imediatly came running over because they said they heard a snap sound to and that it looked nasty when i did it. My coach put ice on it and strapped it up but i can only put a tiny amount of weight on it before my knee collapses.
Avatar n tn I was walking up the stairs when all of the sudden my left foot couldn't hold my weight and my ankle hurt. The pain went further up the outside of my leg , half way up my knee. I hobbled up the rest of the stairs and then after a little while it went away. Then I took a step and it happened again. Then my ankle swelled... over night the swelling went down. I sprained my ankle really bad about 5 years ago, but not recently. I play soccer about once a week. Help what could this be?
Avatar f tn My daughter was diagnosed with a grade 1 fracture of the growth plate in her left foot after a soccer game injury. There has been nothing found seen on the X-rays or mri scans but based on pain and symptoms was diagnosed as such. She has been in a walking boot off and on for 5-6 weeks. Injury occurred 8 weeks ago. Dr’s have said the injury should be healed and no clear answer as to why pain persists. We have tried non weight bearing with crutches for a week too and pain continues.
Avatar f tn So Monday 16, 2016 I was playing soccer at soccer practice, and I was out playing goalie. When I went to dive for a ball I fell on my rib cage (You're suppose to do this to help break the fall) but this time it hutted and like shortness of breathe so I concluded its a rib fracture, Next day I went to doctor get a X-ray to show If id had a fracture, it turns out it wasn't a fracture.
Avatar f tn Also a soccer player and also so tempted to play through pain. Groin injuries are common in soccer. It could be a sports hernia. It could also be a healing pulled groin muscle. Does the pain increase with exertion?
Avatar m tn I play soccer and was invited for several tryouts semi pro leagues, and then a guy broke my foot. After 6 months out with the broke foot, I came back and started training again. During a normal training routine I felt a POP in my thigh (right quad). I was able to walk off the field, and had no swelling or bruising. However it hurt to bend or raise my leg. After two months I was able to run normally and even sprint and kick the ball.
Avatar f tn That lasted two days, the day it healed he thought it would be fun to jumpoff his friends couch, well his foot got stuck. This resulted in rug burn down the whole side of his face, I joked the school would call cps, because of the injuries. My son is 8 yrs old, well today a week after the fat lip his decided to climb the babysitters tree, while she ran inside, well... He fell out and broke him arm. This little guy is just trying to get hurt and driving me crazy!!
Avatar f tn t warmup so I new that was why. I took a week off and it was good. Then during the soccer season my right groin hurt, kinda dull but still was painful. I took a week off and it was still there. Played the rest of the season in pain and then took 3 months off and did physical therapy. Now I tried going back to soccer after my break and I feel a sharp pain in my left groin when I kick a ball or move suddenly. My right has begun to flare up again.
Avatar n tn He said that was probably something I was born with. He said he did not know what was wrong with my foot and sent me to see a foot and ankle specialist. They ordered an ultrasound to rule out blood clots and there were not any. Now the foot and ankle specialist does not know what is wrong with my foot. I am not able to walk much on my foot and I can not put my toes to the floor. When I do walk on it, I have to walk on the side of my foot because the pain is so bad.
Avatar f tn I injured my toe playing soccer, the opponent and I kicked at the ball at the same time and ended up kicking each other toe to toe. After the game I was expecting a red or purple bruise, but it was blue. Not a bluish purple but more of a cyan color. It hurts like other toe injuries I have had but the coloring is what I find odd. It is now 4 days after and the color has not changed like a normal bruise. Should I be concerned or no?
Avatar n tn The important thing is when you start walking all of your leg and foot muscles are coming into action. You body weight is being supported by your feet so with ankle injuries if there is inflammation and irritation of any tendons there is a chance for this pain. Another reason is recovery and healing and age/body weight are other factors.
1810335 tn?1318384373 I got hit in the head today with a soccer ball really hard, Ive been dizzy and have had a head ache all day, I couldn't see nor did i know where I was for a few seconds.. Avatar f tn I am 23 years old and have asked in my age group to talk with someone else whos baby has been diagnosed with club foot, but no luck. Just wondering if anyone here is going through what I am?
Avatar f tn my name is katie im 20 years old i played soccer for 16 years since i was little , over the past years i had 6 concussion , after those concussion i had MRI done apperetnly they didnt find anything and everything , all testing were normal ,, but theres a cluster of granuloma on the left pretrous apex. my brain is otherwise normal. the doctor told me to take Toprol.
Avatar n tn Last year I tore my ACL, MCL, and meniscus in a soccer game. After about 9 month of physical therapy I'm playing again but there is still a lot of pain. It doesn't hurt so much when I were a brace but after I play soccer or workout I'm very sore the next day on my knee, quad, butt, and back. I usually use ice, heat and Ibuprofen. If anyone has any tips that would be great.
Avatar n tn When I pulled my calf at age 51, I used crutches and a cast boot for a couple weeks. It was feeling fairly good in 4 weeks, so I went to play soccer again and promptly pulled it again. When it was bad, I could not push of my toes at all, so the cast boot was the only way I could put weight on it at all. If you can "walk" with a cane, your strain might not be too bad and you might be up and around fairly quickly.
Avatar m tn im freaking out couple years ago left foot felt like it was sleep but no pain jus a crazy feeling. now i feel weak on my left side but no real weakness. now my feet tingle but when i move them they stop. can anyone help .
Avatar n tn I have always noticed how my tibia bones are prone to serious injuries when coming into contact with almost any object. I thought it is normal till some friend recently remarked how sharp my tibia bone is. Unlike their tibias, the sharp edge sticks out and there is no muscle padding to shield it from injuries when coming into contact with objects.
Avatar n tn Hi, I have a pain in my right foot. It is on the top of my foot and only last a few seconds then goes away. Seems to happen most when I am relaxed or laying down. I can't recall any injuries, there is no bruising and does not hurt to touch or press. It is quite painful while it's happening and has been going on for the last 3 days. Does anyone know what this might be or how I can stop it from happening?
