Avatar n tn Foot pain can be caused by increased pressure on the metatarsal heads. This can be due to constricting foot wear or high heel shoes. Other conditions that can cause foot pain include ligament injuries and joint irritation. These problems can also be relieved with more accommodating footwear. Treatment of foot pain often consists of anti-inflammatory medications, footwear modifications, and inserts for your shoes. Metatarsal pads help to take pressure off the ball of the foot.
Avatar n tn These precautions are necessary for preventing stubbed toes and minor cuts at home, which can become foot ulcers. Avatar n tn Now, I have began to feel some pulling and pain on right foot. Could this be from wearing the orthetics. In March he said I may need to have the presciption orthectics. I may have pulled something in the bottom of my foot. I do have a two year old I have to keep up with. What do you think it could be from?

Avatar f tn To minimize the amount of trauma, it is advised to wear soccer shoes with adequate foot heel and arch support and adequate padding especially in the front. I would suggest consulting a sports medicine specialist or an orthopedician for an evaluation to rule out serious injuries and appropriate specific management, if required. Meanwhile you may try resting and immobilizing the foot and keeping it elevated. Use of crepe bandage may be helpful with this.
Avatar f tn I have a lump that seems attached to the bone on the top of my foot. (From the diagram I looked up it seems to be on the 2nd cuneiform) it does not move and by that I mean it feels like it is anchored to the bone, it has gotton bigger over the last few days. (No injuries, no trauma). The lump does not hurt but my foot aches and it travels up to my ankle and almost up to my hip.I couldnt sleep last night because of the dull ache and cramps. I have tried to make an appointment with my Dr.
Avatar n tn I do have weaker side that I get injuries on especially from things like days where I have excessive walking in the wrong shoes (ya, for me, shoes make a HUGE difference) or I exercise hard (which is at all right now as I'm out of shape) or just my clumsiness (popped my hip/glute muscle awhile back walking in my back yard and got foot in hole in grass, sigh). Nothing like that has happened? I remedy lots of that with stretching, icy hot and rest. Plantar fasciitis also comes to mind.
Avatar m tn Gave me exercises to perform to help heal and some orthotics for shoes. However, pain seems to be getting worse. I do exercise regularly and was walking only 30 minutes twice per week and did elliptical machine for 18 minutes twice that week. It started to hurt after doing elliptical especially. I've had this in the past. However, currently I need to exercise as I have some heart issues (on 25 mg Atenolol). I'm 44 yo male, wt. 183 lbs, ht. 68".
Avatar m tn I am 34 year old female with chronic bilateral ankle pain. The pain in my right foot is terrible..my ankle aches all the time, my left foot is bearable. I can't wear shoes other than sneakers, and even wearing sneakers my foot aches. I was diagnosed with sinus tarsi syndrome. Originally in May 2015, I had grade 2 ankle sprain of ATFL ligament and bone edema in calcaneus...this was after completing exercise program T25 and running.
15695260 tn?1549593113 I think those who switch when they become professionals do so because they have to -- you're not allowed to run barefoot in higher competition, is what I think it is. But they've already built up so much foot strength over a lifetime. I've never been a distance runner, and I haven't been able to run at all for years. Can't hardly walk, actually. Too many injuries and medication reaction that stopped me from being able to sleep anymore. It took its toll.

Avatar f tn Wait until you are absolutely positive that you're having a body if you want to buy gender-specific shoes. I'd wait a couple ultrasounds just to be absolutely positive. Once you really know, buy crib shoes, toddler shoes, man shoes, whatever!
314554 tn?1337454119 (Female 46 yr) My podiatrist examined the Morton's Neuromas on both of my feet about year ago. He made my orthotics and I wear ShockDoctor orthotics in some of my other shoes. At one time, I had several knee and tibia "injuries" that were biomechanical in nature from overtraining on the stairmaster and the occasional use/misuse of sports performance & pain meds (no longer use).
Avatar f tn It is very strange that the smell is emitted from the shoes to the outside. The inside of the shoes smells better than the room in which I am sitting. The smell appears regardless of the type of footwear, I usually wear good leather shoes. I think I caught some fungus or bacteria that is resistant to everything. Only I don't have any marks on my feet or boots. My feet are sweating on average. I have no hyperhidrosis. Of course, all blood and hormone tests are ok.

I am a Defensive linemen and i am 6'5" 290 lbs if that helps. There is no bruising or swelling. Please help me!
Avatar m tn My first thought would be ill-fitting shoes. Do you have a sturdy pair of shoes that fit your feet well? If not new shoes can be s simple fix. It doesn't even matter if you're wearing new shoes, they may not be a good fit. I've also found that a good jel-filled cushion insert can be beneficial. Make sure they are a good name and do what they are designed to do - cushion and often cool. Soaking your feet in a warm foot bath of Epson Salts can be comforting and help ease discomfort.

Avatar n tn I have plantar fasciitis and it came on all of a sudden in pretty much the same area you described, left side of heel of right foot. It is now on my left heel, in right side of heel. Have you been on your feet more recently? Increased your exercise? Mine came on after increasing exercise. Currently, I am stretching it at least once per day, doing some strengthening exercises 2-3 times per week. I also apply ice 1 time per day for about 15 minutes when I need to.
Avatar n tn The only injuries ever known to result in HIV infection are those in which the injury itself was caused by a sharp instrument contaminated with HIV infected blood or other body secretions. If there is a risk from pre-existing injuries, it probably requires a brand new, freshly bleeding lesion. Once bleeding stops and healing starts -- within a matter of hours -- it is likely that there is no measurable risk of HIV transmission.
