I've been having constant foot cramps. Podiatrist recommended some stretches and stuff, but also suggested a thyroid test.
FT3 is 3.22 (2.57-4.43)
FT4 is 1.17 (0.64-1.77)
TSH is 4.24 (0.27-4.2)
Anti-Tg is 41.14 (1000 (<5.61)
So the TSH is just a hair too high, but the anti-TPO is off the chart. Is there a thyroid problem or not? What does this mean? I've got an appointment with an endocrinologist, but I just want to get ahead of the game.
ve provided good info and a very optimistic look at this challenge called menopause. I am 47 and I just started to get the cramps although I've missed my period for the last 2 month. The cramps are pretty bad considering that I've never experienced them before during my period, I must say I've been pretty lucky. Thanks for sharing your experience with us. It helped a lot.
I would be concerned at the point when I'm wondering if everything is ok. So for you, if you have a gnawing feeling that maybe this isn't quite typical, you should see your doc. Some symptoms of thyroid disorders are similar to perimenopausal symptoms, so testing would rule out thyroid disease. Also, if your bleeding is continual for a prolonged period, you could become anemic.

I get foot cramps when I lye down and when I drive. I soon as my feet don't touch the ground they curl and hurt a lot. Anybody with that ? please help.

When it starts, press your foot against the wall or bed or something. Anything to make your foot flat. I couldn't stand up with mine, they were bad. But making your foot flat will relieve it QUICK.

Flatten your foot. When you feel it coming, place your foot flat against a wall, bed, or even in the air. Just make it flat like you're standing on it.
Has anyone had conformation that these odd sensations tingling, numbish, prickly, burning, on scalp, face, tongue,body, arms, hands, legs feet, along with the hot flashes are from menopause? I sure was glad to come on this site.
One of my problems is that my dr sees menopause as a pathology, a disease. Although I had always thought of menopause as just a "natural" phase of a female's life, this dr's attitude makes me feel that I am no longer a woman, just a walking pathology with nothing to look forward to but bodily and mental decay. She does not appear to listen when I tell her about any problems and tends to send me for intrusive tests.
I have not but my good friend did. She's in her early 50's and going through menopause. She was desperate. She was uncomfortable and had cramps she couldn't tolerate.
