Avatar m tn A) I have read that chlorine kills the herpes virus in swimming pools. What are the chances of acquiringherpes by swimming in a lake...or in the ocean? B) I have also read that the virus can gain access to the body through breaks in the skin. What if someone were to have a fresh cut (ie: on the hand or foot) and go swimming. Could the virus be contracted through the fresh wound via water? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar m tn Just for your information, a swimming pool rash is common either swimming in either chlorinated, polluted or infected water. The skin regions exposed to pool water containing excessive amount of chlorine may also lead to such rash. Although chlorine is a necessary element in swimming pools in order to kill bacteria but it may lead to allergic reaction to some sensitive skinned people.
Avatar m tn About a week ago, she felt her whole body started to itch after swimming in the pool for about 20 minutes and the itchiness got more severe while she stayed in the pool. So she had to stop swimming and got up from the pool. After she showered, the itchiness went away. Since that, the same thing happened every time she swam even she went to a different pool. It seems to me that she is allergic to some pool chemical. But I don’t know why she never had the problems before.
Avatar f tn I put her feet in the ocean at 2 weeks but feets only lol
Avatar f tn Is it okay to do handstands and flips in the pool? I'm not talking like jumping off the side of the pool flips just when I'm sitting in the pool. I'm 8 weeks and 1 day pregnant. I've avoided swimming with my other pregnancies but my husband is insisting the baby will be fine.
Avatar f tn I will be going early morning and in the evening.
9442948 tn?1406816451 I'm 21 weeks pregnant, can i swim in a cold chlorinated pool? I checked online and it said yes, but i don't understand we can't go in hot but we can go in cold?

6798510 tn?1408039357 ll be living there for 2 months or so, and they have a swimming pool. i cant swim lol, but its safe to be in there for @ least 30 mins, right?? i heard water takes weight off your body.
Avatar n tn Lol yea the finally got it opened up and everything this week glad its pretty hot here so the water will feel nice :)
Avatar f tn In my first pregnancy i lost my mucus plug early at 28weeks and my doc told me not to go swimming in the lake, river, pool or take baths constantly since the barrier is gone bacteria can have easy access.
Avatar n tn No, your flow doesn't stop when you're in the pool. That is super unsanitary and inconsiderate to others swimming. Just hold out a few days.
797889 tn?1237664545 to another person by using the hottub or swimming pool with other people? All my doctors encourage me to use my swimming pool to help with poor circulation in my legs, severe low back pain & for weight loss. Last summer I Iost 8lbs. by swimming 3-4 days a week in thepool, from July 1st-Sept. 1st. I wouldn't think my family doctor, Hep C. doctor & podiatrist, would recommend swimming if they was a slight chance I could give someone my Hep. C.
Avatar f tn I get foot and leg and even body cramps but have had them for years due to probably the diuretic I take for edema from my cirrhosis. For me actually I seem to have fewer cramps on Harvoni but still get them occasionally Best to ask your doctor if your symptoms cause concern. Make sure you are hydrating enough it can help with the headachs.
Avatar f tn I went swimming in the lake, swimming pool and hot tub as well...lol. It was all fine. You should shower throughly though.
11803947 tn?1430842645 s almost impossible for your water to break while in the pool since the pressure of the pool water counteracts with your water bag. I was really worried at first but swimming is amazing! You feel weightless and super relaxed :) just don't go swimming after your water breaks because that can cause infection.
Avatar n tn re talking about swimming in a pool, that would be safer. If you are thinking about swimming laps for exercise, you might want to use a paddle board at first, to reduce the workload until you get back into swimming shape. I hope it works out for you to be able to swim. As ed34 mentioned, it is great exercise, and if you enjoy it, then it can add a lot of enjoyment to your quality of life. Good luck.
