Avatar f tn I needed more calcium as well. I used to get them 2 to 3 times a week (sometimes both legs on the same night). I started taking calcium supplements and experienced a dramatic decline. I haven't had one in weeks (knock on wood!). Talk to your doc/midwife before adding any supplememts of course.
Avatar m tn I am having constant foot cramps. Do you have any ideas on what might be causing this?
Avatar f tn You can also try flexing your toes and just stretching your foot. It's what's been helping me to relieve the cramps quickly.
Avatar f tn When it starts, press your foot against the wall or bed or something. Anything to make your foot flat. I couldn't stand up with mine, they were bad. But making your foot flat will relieve it QUICK.
Avatar f tn People should not have calcium levels like this. The "normal" parathyroid level is "inappropriately" normal in the face of the high Calcium. This is primary hyperparathyroidism and the cure is surgery.
Avatar f tn Also, HEALTHCHECKER, foot cramps are usually caused by being somewhat deficient in electrolytes, which are minerals like calcium, potassium, that sort of thing. So, eat some extra foods that have lots of minerals in them, like bananas and other things, and you won't get those foot cramps, most likely.
Avatar f tn I heard the cramps is because of not enough calcium. If you go to your symptoms page on this app you can putnin your symptoms like legs cramps then push ok, it will come up with a explanation mark beside it, click on it and it will give u information on that symptom. Massaging the area helps too.
Avatar f tn Every morning i wake up while stretching. I always get super bad calf cramps. Is there any ways to prevent the cramps every single morning?

Avatar n tn Hello Dear, Muscle cramps might develop from simple overexertion .Most commonly, cramps can be avoided by increasing your intake of calcium, potassium, and magnesium. Both calcium and magnesium can be taken in the form of a supplement, but it is recommended that potassium levels be increased through the intake of more fruits and vegetables. You should take rest for a few days and massage the calf region using a topical gel which will relax your contracted muscles. As such nothing to worry about.
335728 tn?1331414412 It happens when I lift my feet off the floor, when I am lying in bed and the worst is when I am driving I get cramps in the toes on my right foot and it is a little scary...I am afraid that I will lift my foot off the brake or push down on the gas inappropriately when these cramps hit! Any ideas out there?

Avatar n tn I wear a big ridid AFO brace on my right foot/ankle and that foot and/or toes will still cramp up while wearing the brace. I even get foot cramps while driving; There doesnt seem to be any specific timing to any of this. My rheumy happened to notice my hand spasms recently, so he sent me for blood tests ( I dont know yet if they showed anything) CBC, CMP, ESR, and Magnesium. But I have a muscle relaxer (Soma) and Lyrica (for nerve pain in my outer hip areas that stem from my spine).
Avatar f tn Certain muscle cramps are caused by acidity. That's why calcium & magnesium help. Do you have rectal itch or burning eyes or ears? If so, you are overly acidic. Take plant based calcium & magnesium malate. Excess Sun exposure produces excess D3 . The D3 strips calcium from muscles and that's why you wake up with severe cramps. Shower right after being in the sun. Take extra calcium if in the sun and throughout the day and before bed. Cut back on phosphates.
Avatar n tn This has also resulted in really poor ankle mobility, especially in my left foot, and severly reduced dorsiflexion (that too in my left foot). My left foot also tends to fall inwards. Years ago, before developing all of these symptoms, I underwent a rather thourough Neurexamination (because of functional weakness, numbness etc, mostly prominent in the left side of body). Several Doctors concluded that I suffer from hemsensory conversion disorder or something along those lines.
Avatar f tn Does anyone else have calf cramps at night that leave a sore spot on your calf muscle the next day?
Avatar n tn Since this tingling sensation is in the foot this compression could be at the level of foot, leg or hip. This could quite possibly be sciatica. I would advise you to consult a doctor as soon as possible as you need to undergo a complete physical and neurological examination. Also please take rest and do some simple back exercises.
5365989 tn?1394392790 I get severe cramps in my calves so I talked to my doctor about it and he said it sounds like a combination of a calcium, potassium, and magnesium deficiency. I would bring it up next time you see your doctor.
