Can heel spurs cause the top of the foot to burn? I have heel spurs behind and below my heel and wear orthotics. The pain pops up occasionally but doesn't bother me too much. The weird problem is the burning pain on the top of my foot. The feeling feels like a torch is cutting through my foot. The feeling usually lasts about three seconds and disappears. Then pops up again when I move my foot. I cannot cause the feeling, or connect it directly to my foot.

I saw my ankle surgeon a couple of weeks ago and I had just found out that I have a bone spur on the top of my right foot (the same foot and ankle that I had surgery on in April 2008). He told me to do some ankle exercises to relieve some of the pain. He didn't do anything with the bone spur yet. I go see him again October 15. My question is: Will the ankle exercises help the bone spur disappear or will I need to get surgery to remove the bone spur?
Here is a home remedy for bone spurs. Soak your foot/feet in a pan of nice warm water to which you add 1 cup of baking soda and 1 cup of white vinegar. The vinegar and baking soda mix will soften the spur.
Start taking Grape Seed Extract. it has been known to actually dissolve the spurs. (I used to have heel bone spurs - but dissolved them this way. No more spurs).
I still take Grape Seed extract (have been for years after the bone spurs went away).
My wife noticed the bone structure where my foot and ankle meet is larger than my left foot. Podiatrist feels ankle pain is attributed to compensation from the pain of the Plantar Fasciitis. Bone spurs are just extra bone. They become painful if they rub against another bone, and could lead to arthritis. The fact joints are what allows the spine to bend. So the spurs can cause stiffness and impair you ability to bend your spine to a certain extent.
My friend have heel spurs (kinda Plantar Fasciitis) on both feet for a month now.The left foot is healing on its own but the right is still uncomfortable. especially bothersome while and after running. He went to seen 3 surgeons and everyone suggested different remedies to get rid off.
As he used to run for jogging so he asked surgeon to shoes for plantar fasciitis and heel spurs as he doesn't want to stop running.

People with MS can be susceptible to plantar fasciitis if they have tight calf muscles from spasticity but people that don't have MS certainly experience it as well.
Well, maybe I am just gettin old. Maybe its coincidence that my feet are turning old and vein-ee.......I know its hard on the feet, but my feet have never been this ugly till I started walking on these dammm floors!!......hmmmm?

Also when you are standing keep changing the position, lift your foot off the ground for sometime and let your foot bear the body weight alternatively. If possible keep a small stool nearby on which you can rest your foot from time to time.
Plantar fasciitis, arthritis of small joints, diabetic neuropathy, hypothyroidism, high blood pressure, over weight, deep vein thrombosis, wrong foot wear, gout, etc are a few causes of sore feet with heel pain. A high ESR by itself is not diagnostic.
t a break in a bone in there somewhere? There are so many tiny bones in your foot. It took the drs 5 months to find the break in my foot. (This was many years ago. Ended up being a sesamoid bone on the bottom of my foot.) I'm telling you this because those breaks can be hard to find. Or it could be some type of nerve damage. I don't know.
My best advice is to see an orthopedic doctor. You may wish to consider wearing an ankle brace, available at CVS, Walgreens et al.
Mine do that! Even if I move my foot my hips crack and pop. It's normal. Mine started doing it at 22 weeks.

Scholls gel inset for the entire foot but I wanted to buy a heel insert that is designed for treating heels spurs. My main question is, do you recommend using a full shoe insert plus a heel insert or are they not designed to be used together? My secondary question is, are there are shoe inserts or heel inserts that treat heels spurs that are most recommended?
s probably triggered something. Are there special shoes I can wear to prevent further foot fatigue or use special inserts to make it better? Thanks for your help!

I have since been told I have hip bursitis from a rheumatoligst, and he gave me 6 costizone shots in one day, 2 went in my hip bones, 2 went in my back bones, and 2 in the butt bones, The cortizone needles didn't work at all... and the rhumy doctor ended up saying to me: I have too many problems... He was one of many doctor's that is confused on how I have all this going on and it's like i'm a puzzel still to this day..
