Avatar n tn These precautions are necessary for preventing stubbed toes and minor cuts at home, which can become foot ulcers. These diabetic shoes are different from regular ones and are individually fitted according to personal foot needs and size. Search for a health care equipment provider who deals with shoes for neuropathy. They would take your fittings and foot measurements.
Avatar f tn You can try an ice or cool pack to your feet before and after running, foot powder to help, a foot spray for athletes foot. These things have been known to help. New shoes and socks or these methods does often solve the problem for runners. One other note on shoes is that maybe your feet have grown a tiny bit and so your shoes still fit but are tight, all of them. Too tight shoes can cause this. If that doesn't help, I would say that you need to see a doctor at this point.
973741 tn?1342342773 Tempo runs on the track, springs on the track, running on trails and side walks, running through fields, running through fields bare foot, hills and lots of core conditioning. He wasn't very big on stretching. Their cool down was a 2 mile run. His coach was a track/field and cross country runner at Auburn. Not shabby. And he is young and has produced in his 5 years at the school a pretty successful CC team. We buy running shoes on a regular basis so he always has good shoes.
Avatar m tn My problem is very peculiar, whenever I am sitting idle I feel heavyness in my left foot fingers ( not whole foot ). This happens if I am wearing shoes, if I take off my shoes then I don't feel that. I feel this way if and only if I am sitting idle and wearing shoes. Apart from that if I am walking or running I don't anything different. There is no mark or spot on my left foot. Another thing I feel this only on my left foot fingers, my right foot is perfectly fine.
15695260 tn?1549593113 A lot of research shows that wearing running shoes is a bad idea to start with, because the arch supports and cushioning over time weakens the muscles of the foot. Running barefoot or in sandal-like shoes, as humans did for most of our history, preserves the natural arch and strengthens the muscles. But, we don't run on soft soil anymore, we run largely on paved surfaces, and running barefoot on these or in so-called minimalist shoes will lead to mashed feet and plantar fasciitis.
1017324 tn?1390936445 Over-straining the foot as in running could be the cause. Foot pain can also be due to arthritis. Faulty foot wear is another cause: the top portion of the foot could be rubbing against the shoes. Since a confirmed diagnosis cannot be given on net please consult your doctor regarding this. Hope this helps. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you.
Avatar m tn t want to stop running. Surgeon suggest him to fins that shoes with minimum padding in the heel cup help out. Do you guys have any suggestion ?
Avatar m tn This could be a frictional injury due to tight laces making the shoes rub against the skin. Once this heals, and you will need to give your foot some rest, you should be fine. Maybe in the long run you will either have to change the shoes, or wear a padding below the laces. The other possibility is an infection. It can also be a nerve compression or a tendon injury. Please consult your PCP for primary examination followed by proper referral, preferably to a sports medicine specialist.
Avatar n tn The pain is on the bottom of my foot at the heel just near the arch in the daytime and at night at the back of the heel when I am laying on my back. I bought some walking shoes for plantars fasciitis and they have running shoes at orthofeet.com. You need to stretch your achilles tendon basically too. It could potentially be a heel spur but they have to Xray it to confirm that. hope this helps. Also, putting gel heels from Dr. scholes (spelling?
Avatar m tn I also bought new running shoes just in case. I also bought harder inserts for my dress shoes. I dont know how to get this under control. Please help.
Avatar n tn I like to stay active so I try to go walking and running in town. Halfway back from my walk it hurt unbelievably bad. My hips would not stop popping. I noticed that if I even push down on my hips it feels extremely painful. This only happens when I walk, run, or even ride horse. I don't have any clue of whats causing it and can't decide if I need to go to the doctor for it. Please help!
Avatar f tn It depends on the shoes I wear...if I wear my running shoes, they aren't so bad, but I practically cry after a day in my flats, they hurt and are so swollen...unless it gets mentioned at work, it'll have to be the business casual + gym shoes look for me.
Avatar m tn Hi all! For the last 3-4 days both of my feet have been in discomfort. It started as a small ache in my mid toes, then kind of gradual pain which spread to my ball and now it's gone to the heel and ankles. I'm not sure if it's related but last month I hurt my mid/upper back (pain around shoulder blade with niggly spots around) through over exercising in the gym. I haven't done any high impact running or anything, and shoes are proper fit.
1336659 tn?1275890125 s been getting pins and needles and numbness in both feet and again his left foot is worse. Recently we went for new shoes and at his fitting we realized that his left foot is over a size smaller than his right. I don't know how we missed this because it's very obvious when he standing in his bare feet. I know most people have one foot smaller than the other. But I've always had his feet measured and it's never been an issue.
Avatar m tn - if you have access to a sports-physio store or a fitness expert, please get your foot-type checked and get a new pair of running-shoes accordingly. All the best, Parth Adhyaru http://www.bodyweightworkoutsystem.
Avatar m tn Hello and Welcome to MedHelp. I think the pain you are referring to is called Metatarsalgia. It can come from ill fitting shoes or activities that involve running and jumping. It's not dangerous and may disappear with rest, ice and elevation but always check with your physician. It may become chronic if not treated promptly and properly. My concern is the amount of running that is required during boot camp. You'll be constantly on your feet or running.
Avatar f tn Wait until you are absolutely positive that you're having a body if you want to buy gender-specific shoes. I'd wait a couple ultrasounds just to be absolutely positive. Once you really know, buy crib shoes, toddler shoes, man shoes, whatever!
Avatar n tn I had a favorite pair of Reebok running shoes, wore them all the time, and I started getting this awful pain in my foot, especially my heel. Turns out a little shoe nail had worked its way thru the sole and goofed up my feet nerves. Swtiched shoes and it slowly got better. Another thing that happened to me is, our offices switched to another building with cement floors. Practically everybody wound up at the podiatrist's office.
Avatar n tn m really worried I was late on getting my young son from school so I ran and felt a prick on the bottom of my foot. I forgot kinda about it and took a shower when I got out I looked at it and did see a small red dot that looked like a poke on the same foot I felt the poke. I decided go back and check were I felt the poke on the sidewalk 3 hours later. I could not find a needle but I did find a disposable glove In that spot I though was strange.
Avatar f tn I woke up about 5am this morning with a sharp pain in my toe next to the pinky toes . The pain is so severe i screamed out in pain. About 2 weeks ago i did purchase new running shoes but i havent tested them out at the gym yet. Ive been wearing them everyday at work though. The pain occurs every 5 mins and just as painful as the first time. My foot seems normal no swelling or discoloration. Please help.
Avatar f tn I was running through a grassy area in Texas, USA in 2014 and felt over 10 painful bites all over my right foot at the same time. They were very painful and I kept running and smacking whatever it was off of my leg. I did not see what it was but if you google fire ant bites that is what it looked like when I went inside to examine the bites and most likely was. Since then my health has declined. The bites never healed on my foot.
892668 tn?1241564990 Hi, I've been diagnosed with Plantar Faciitis since 2002. I've had steroid injections of all kinds. It's gone from heels to under foot to top of foot, to everywhere possible on foot (feet). I am at a point where I don't know what else to do. I've had different insoles made for my shoes, told not to go without them, thus never wearing sandles again, and I'm still suffering.
Avatar m tn No risk at all .
Avatar f tn There are only three running shoe manufactures in the US that make shoes for supenators, and pronators. As we age not all of us retain the 'neutral' feet we once had. If you dont know what type yo are, I would suggest going to a real 'runners' shoe store. Many have a person very knowledgeable on staff the can watch your walking gate. A real foot doctor or orthopedic understands correct/incorrect walking gate as well.
Avatar f tn Getting the proper walking/running shoes is vital to prevent shin splints. First you should rest, your body has to recover, and ice your shins most importantly. You need to get shoes that support the arch of your foot.
Avatar f tn I was sprayed by a pressure washer a week ago on my foot. Sking healing fine, but foot staying swollen. Should I be concerned?
