Avatar m tn I started looking into Adderall but started looking into supplements or natural foods. Anyway, my question is, would taking Ginkgo Biloba, Ginseng, Omega-3, or Nootropics be an effective way of increasing my ability to concentrate and retain information. Are there any harm with taking these all together, or even individually? Have they been proven effective?
Avatar n tn Yes. I feel the same way. Before ToX I felt strong and confident that I could take on any challenge, face anything. I was only on it for 14-weeks. It didn't work well enough. Stopped a couple of months ago. My memory and concentration have improved since stopping, but I still feel like I am only half the person I that I was. I feel very limited now. Much less competant in just about every aspect of my life.

Avatar n tn There are study techniques that really improve memory. I don't quite understand what you mean by short term memory. Even the people that appear to glance at a word, and know it the next day use techniques to do so. And some superbright people can literally do just that. I think the main question is why post to an ADHD forum. If he has trouble memorizing because he can't concentrate (ADD/ADHD), that is very different than just having trouble memorizing.

Avatar m tn One of the most frustrating is memory loss. Memory loss can occur in most people as they age. But sometimes, memory loss can be due to circulatory problems and hormonal changes in the body. To prevent memory loss when a person has diabetes, one should change their diet to include foods with fiber, protein, and calcium that will stimulate blood flow and also help replace some of the nutrients lost. Exercise will also promote blood flow.

Avatar f tn I’ve decided to see if there’s maybe some supplements I can take or certain foods I should eat more of that could help with the deficiency but what I’m finding, websites are saying the supplements are inhibitors of acetylcholine, yet they claim to improve the symptoms I’m experiencing. I’m confused because why would I want an inhibitor if I’m lacking the enzyme in the first place? Unless I’m confused about how the acetylcholinesterase works with choline and acetylcholine?

Avatar m tn Well the pains aren't really coming from your liver so to speak because it has no nerves inside it to sense pain. Most likely it's a form of IBS which hep patients frequently get. Avatar f tn Specifically to the question, "anti-depressants and memory loss", I am missing 6 of the 16 comments that are supposed to be posted. And I've gotten specific emails naming the person who sent it and the first few words of it, but they don't show up. Any way to get my problem to the management here?
Avatar f tn The worst of my symptoms of anxiety/depression has been my memory loss and trouble concentrating. I'm 21 and these symptoms have made me feel disabled during school. I don't know how to explain it other than my mind fogging and completely shutting off to the point where I can read one sentence over and over, and still not comprehend it. My question is, once my medication starts working, will my memory come back? Meaning will I remember the things I had trouble remembering.
Avatar m tn “You want to avoid those foods that will rob you of energy or that will only give short bursts of energy. You are looking for nutrition that will be there for your cells, muscles, and brain for the long haul.” By eating the right foods — the types of foods that everyone, not just those with CFS, should strive to eat — we all can give ourselves more natural energy and eliminate tiredness and fatigue.
