Avatar n tn Hi Lisa, I was here back in 2007 before you even had your second daughter, I just go by a different name now. I had actually been thinking about you recently because I am pregnant, almost 12 weeks now and it was not planned and I've been on Suboxone for over 450 days now due to a horrible addiction.

317822 tn?1223241475 Detox gets you off the drugs safely, and a little of what rehab does. Rehab deals with learning about your addiction and how to live life without drugs. Once you are done with detox, they will help set you up on some continuing aftercare activities. Like an inpatient rehab, or outpatient rehab, a psychiatrist to follow your meds etc. that kind stuff. Hope this helps?
Avatar f tn Our daughter has been to 3 treatment centers. The first two were someone else's idea, they didn't work out because she didn't want to get clean at that time. But the last one worked out perfectly. She was ready. She stayed for 28 days. No contact with outside sources. Just visits on Sundays from us. Being cut off from the people she used with is quite a safety net. It's a safe environment and every day she worked on her recovery. She was introduced to NA at treatment.
Avatar f tn Looking for the best treatment center in US, Consult with New Solutions Counseling centers in Florida- one of the best addiction recovery rehab center.
Avatar m tn There are many expensive rehab centers across the United States that are not too large, or crowded, but will keep him at least 90 days and urge him to transition to a sober living facility afterward for a period of time. These facilities, if you have the money, can be very effective. I do not know the name of the facilities that deal specifically w/ crack addiction, but you can find them by going to the following website and finding the link within the page that says something like..
Avatar n tn My wife has an addiction to IV Dilaudid and has been fighting the cravings for sometime now. She is at the point that she wants to go to ER's to try to get the IV, What recommendations are there on how to break the cycle. We are a one car, one income family (me) and don't have the funds or time to enter her into rehab. What other options are there? If any.

299889 tn?1257339377 The Morphine is scary and I finally started calling detox centers and rehab. I feel like I have to take myself out of my environment because my life ias so busy and the people around me ARE so needy (family) job. My fiance is behind me but he isn't an addict. The only medical detox I have found is no smoking but what the hey, 3 days.... Should I try to detox at home first and then go to treatment. I am grateful I have the chance to go. Has anyone went thru this.
1113973 tn?1258663021 Quality rehab facilities that are completely free are few and far between. Many have payment plans or will work with you with payments. Your best bet is to flip through the yellow pages, find the first rehab, and call them. Tell them what you need and ask for help. If they can't help, ask for a referral. Rehab centers know about each others terms and programs for miles. They are your best source of info. Outpatient rehab isn't nearly as pricey as inpatient programs.
Avatar m tn So, you’re right to look for cheap rehab centers. You don’t have to break into a bank or go broke in the name of getting off drug and alcohol addiction.
Avatar n tn After you detox and you no longer have insurance benefits for any rehab, what do you do? My grandson just checked into a detox facility but cannot return to his home. He is detoxing from oxy, valium, alcohol and was on a binge after 10 weeks clean. I dont know what to do to help him without enabling him..any suggestions? He is 18 last month so we dont get any info from detox facility.
Avatar f tn who has experience in these types of situations. Contact local agencies and rehab centers to find out their experience in this. There are rehab centers that sort of specialize in working with pregnant women. Weaning has to be done under close medical supervision and slowly. It is not an easy thing to manage during pregnancy if there is a high level of addiction. Each situation is unique and it is critical that you work with someone experienced in addiction during pregnancy.
Avatar m tn Am I able to quit it by myself? Or Do I to join in any rehab centers for it? My mom is advising me to join in Edgewood, an addiction treatment center in Toronto. Since it is expensive, I’m confused, but I wonder whether I could handle the withdrawal symptoms. Any advice would be appreciable.
414508 tn?1222627690 does anyone know if there is a way to find an OB/GYN who has knowledge of addiction. i have contacted the ACOG, and several Dr's, but should i be calling rehab centers?? dont know how to go about this. they have to be out there, just dont know how to find them. i have a Dr, but she has NO experience with addiction and i feel finding someone with some knowledge about this would be beneficial to guide me and know exactly what myself and baby need. any advice would be truly appreciated!!
Avatar f tn He has become addicted to oxys since the accident and now does them intravenously, and at extremely high doses talking 500 to 600 in 24 hours (is trying to taper down). Can you recommend any treatment centers that specialize in addicts with TBI no longer acute that accepts medicaid in or around missouri. He has been through regular rehab a few times. We have been told that will be hard for him to quit until he gets help with the TBI first.
Avatar f tn I posted before my husband decided to go to rehab we live in Ct and took him to one in Penn. I just have a question and this sounds so stupid, but i've lost all trust in him since all his lies and addiction. I want to know what it's like in rehab. He is in detox for 5 days then stays there for 21 days. The place is called livengrin...any of you heard of it or been there? I just want to know if people can easily have sex in places like that?
1175931 tn?1263809505 Get your phone book out. Look up detox and rehab centers in your area. Whether you have health insurance or not there are places you can go to get detoxed. That is the beginning. Then the work begins. To figure out why you are doing this. It sounds like it started with back surgery. But that is just a symptom.. There is something that is making you afraid or sad or both that makes you feel a need to numb yourself. I use to do this with alcohol.
Avatar m tn sub has been pretty good for me but i could certainly see where it could be a big problem for some people they really should try to keep in rehab or detox centers the shorter your on it the better from what i have the withdrawal is very bad and long lasting i do understand some may need long term with sub but it seems that some people are trading a light addiction and then getting hooked on sub and it is very potent it seems we are trading less for more
Avatar n tn t either before, but do now. Addiction *****, but we can break this cycle. There is help out there and rehab is not the only option. Have you ever thought about trying N/A or any other aftercare to stay clean. I think the fact you have told people and admitted your problem is a HUGE step and should be very proud of yourself for that. Keeping it a secret keeps us sick. Stick around this is a great support group. Look in the top right of this page.
Avatar n tn The book and his program works well for people with drug dependence. It's a fallacy for him to claim an addiction cure. Even the AMA says that addiction is a chronic disease with no known cure.
518798 tn?1295212279 i, too, LOVE the program and am always fascinated by all the stories, no matter if the addiction deals with alcoholism, cocaine, heroin, or Rx drugs.....it's always emotional for me, too, no matter what....i have so much empathy for everyone, for both the addict AND the families involved....it really hits home, doesn't it? i think it's a GREAT show and i, for one, hope it stays on for a long time....
Avatar f tn Believe me I am, I just came across an article in an addiction Industry rag, called "Addiction Professional". The article deals with, "The Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act of 2008" and the new guidelines that Kathleen Sebelius gave a speech on on 7/6/2010. I just fired off a letter to my state senator. I am attacking this on all fronts. Father Martin would be rolling over in grave along Mae Abraham the 2 founders of Ashley.
Avatar f tn Sign into the hospital or drug rehab they will help it's gonna be hard but don't think about ur self think about that blessing God has given u if this baby can't make u stop then maybe nothing can get help before you hurt your baby I have had friends addicted to drugs I'm an ex drug addict 4 1/2 yrs clean u can do it I will be praying for you and hope u make the right choice God bless you
1046832 tn?1255008262 Hi Hun, Avisg is spot on. Most of the treatment centers (rehabs) have what is called an "indigent" program. That is by no means an insult. It is simply a program for those who do not have insurance but need the help. For example, when I was in treatment I was in with a Pharmacist. He was a person who at one time had the money but had lost everything through his addiction. He was accepted into the program. I saw many others since then also accepted for one reason or another.
Avatar m tn He snorts coke, Addarall and Ritalin, the guy leaves paraphernalia all around his house and still denies usage. He is currently on methadone which is just a free drug to him at this point. Before drug use he was an extremely stable family man. Once he go involved in the drug world, he assaulted a guy while high and claimed insanity. He still served time but he Really played it up saying he hears voices and has extreme paranoia. (only when he is high mind you.
