624754 tn?1233297136 Always eat something first because I could feel weak or faint. The caffeine in my coffee has become unhealthy because I have drank coffee for many years. I know that caffeine requires more food as to be absorbed and caffeine as a drug continues to be active and this is my question; How long should it take to withdraw from the caffeine, how many day?
Avatar f tn And Starbucks has twice as much caffeine as other coffee so be aware of that. Too much caffeine can cause low birth weight.
Avatar f tn From what I've read, caffeine is ok under the amount of 300mg a day. I buy Folgers half caff brand coffee so its already mixed and drink 1 to 2 cups a day. 3 days a week when I work, I also have 1 cup of regular. I don't drink pop alot, but once in awhile a Pepsi with certain dinners. My kids are fine, they are very active, but I don't think that has anything to do with the caffeine i consumed when I was pregnant, just their personality lol.
Avatar f tn Hey ladies. Just had a 6 oz cup of folgers colombian medium-dark coffee. 2 teaspoons of the coffee i put in my keurig because i dont like it too strong.i dont drink a lot of coffee anymoreso i was just wondering if my baby girl will be ok :) i know were allowed 200 mg of caffeine but because of the roast i was hoping im in the clear still.
Avatar f tn I switched to folgers half caff and enjoy my coffee every morning +2 cups+ that's the only caffeine I have though.
Avatar f tn There's alil bit of caffeine still in de caf. But it's fine. I buy half caffeinated coffee from folgers. And limit myself to 1-2 cups a week. My I do drink 1-3 cups if coke a week. I jest can't help it. I love pop! Lol. Just as long as your keeping it under 200mg of caffeine a day. Which allows you up to 2 cans of pop, 2 glasses if black tea or two cups if regular coffee.
Avatar f tn I do not drink soda. I used to drink coffee once in a while prior to getting pregnant. I bought some folgers decaf singles today but have done some reading on decaf coffee. I would like some input on if it is ok to drink a small cup of decaf coffee once in a while or should I just continue to avoid coffee all together?
Avatar m tn As you are describing it makes sense to me that when you combine caffeine, a stimulant with saturated fats the consequence is that friend foods take more blood sugars to metabolize than caffeine. I sometimes eat coffee with some fried foods and it is true that you don't feel the boast as when I take coffee with cereal. According to a study from the University of Guelph, drinking coffee after eating greasy foods can cause blood sugar spikes.
Avatar f tn I would try decaf first and see if that help the craving at all it might just be the taste of coffee not the caffeine your body wants. My doctor said its okay to have caffeine but avoid it when ever possible.
Avatar f tn 200-300mg is the recommend max of caffeine in a day which is about one to two cups depending on how strong you make your coffee. Caffeine isn't really proven to cause anything. Possible side affects is a small head at birth and behavior issues later in life like ADD and ADHD but it's not been proven. They have just recently proven that caffeine consumption does not cause miscarriages.
Avatar f tn I cut out all other stimulants but like to enjoy coffee in the morning, it wakes me up but lately it's giving me severe anxiety! I shouldn't be drinking coffee anyway, GERD, IBS, but I love the wonderful smell and it's the only thing that gives me energy. Can I quit drinking it cold turkey? I heard stories from people who did that and they suffered withdrawal symptoms. This morning, I had two cups and it triggered a full blown panic attack. At 5 am....
Avatar n tn This has to do with both the oils in the coffee in addition to the caffeine - it stimulates the digestive track - can induce spasms - all of which will send you running in a moment of despair. An allergy, I believe is something that your body attacks - when, in reality, it's not an enemy and imposes no harm. I've heard people whom work around solvents exclaim that they're allergic to them - I always respond, no you're not! It's poison and your body is rejecting it!
Avatar f tn I have 2-3 cups a coffee ever morning (folgers 1/2 caff) soda no longer taste good to me, but if I happen to have one I just drink an extra glass of water and skip my sugary desert that night :) enjoy yourself a soda!
356054 tn?1218552475 m drinking folgers from the local stop and rob this morning. Folgers freshly brewed coffee with some french vanilla cream. No starbucks today.
Avatar f tn I love my caffeine. I cut wayyyyyyy down but how much caffeine is a safe and ok amount to drink?
Avatar f tn I had caffeine with my first and I was induced a week after my due date and he was 9 lbs 9 0z. Some is ok so don't let other people get to you. It's your baby and your body. if they don't feel that caffeine is ok they can have their own caffeine free baby.
Avatar f tn I drink coffee everyday:) did not the first trimester it made me sick.
Avatar f tn A small cup of coffee is fine. Avoid herbal teas since many herbs, including chamomile, aren't safe in pregnancy. Peppermint is fine.
3053649 tn?1356365017 Lol well your suppose to only have a specific amount of caffeine a day, the doctor says a couple cups of coffee is fine. Personally, I didnt drink any sodas with caffeine in it. And I stopped drinking coffee cold turkey. BUT, once I got into my third trimester I started drinking a half a cup of coffee in the morning cause I missed my mornings where I drank my morning coffees lol. So half a cup a day for me.
Avatar f tn coffee, teas, sodas (Coke, Pepsi, Mountain Dew to name a few). Decaf drinks do have a minimal amount of caffeine, however, they are safer to drink. Suggest increasing your consummation of water, which is a healthy benefit. Thank you for your question.
Avatar f tn Too much caffeine also cuts down on blood flow to the placenta, and you don't want to do that because the baby won't be getting as much oxygen or as many nutrients. women in their first trimester has shown a doubling of miscarriage at 200 mg of caffeine per day. That's about the amount of caffeine you'd get if you drank 2 small cups of coffee or 5 cans of caffeinated soda. Women who drank 200 mg.
Avatar f tn Just be educated on the amount of caffeine in your drinks. Starbucks coffee has WAY more caffeine than normal coffee. (300 mg compared to 120 mg) but their lattes have less caffeine, you can lower that even more by doing 1/2 caf. For me it keeps me from getting constipated, WORTH IT!
Avatar f tn Actually ure ob will tell u no caffeine but ive also been told that theres a SMALL certain amount u can have per day or per week but i dont remember the amount since i cutt it out wen i found out i was pregnant
Avatar n tn My dr told me that as long as I don't increase my caffeine intake it is ok to drink the amount that i was drinking before I got pregnant. I'm 23 weeks and everytime I go to the dr, dr says baby is very healthy. I only drink 1 soda a day or instead have a cup of coffee. Other than that I drink lots of water.
Avatar f tn In the beginning of my pregnancy i drank a lot of pop cause its all i craved until my cousin yelled at me. It can cause still birth (caffeine) so i completely stopped the caffeine drinking. I only drink sprite & gingerale if i want pop. I hate coffee so thats not a prob for me. Id say try drinking pop with no caffeine. I drank a coke the other day and through it all up.
Avatar f tn Ive never heard of long term affects a safe amount of caffeine has on the baby. I drink either a coffee, or once a week a pop instead. This is my third pregnancy to do this. I just steer clear of mountain dew cause it has higher caffeine and i only have one or sometimes two regular sized cups of coffee a day.
Avatar f tn s equivalent to the amount of caffeine in one cup coffee.
11157192 tn?1430159059 Caffeine is safe in moderation. 200mg or less a day shows no increase in miscarriage or other complications. One cup of coffee supposedly averages at 120 mg/cup. That's a lot of caffeine for a small amount of liquid. I've started brewing my coffee with less grounds (like half what i used to use) so that I can still enjoy several cups without worrying.
304970 tn?1331425994 I have to have my coffee in the morning so I switched to that new folgers called half caf. It is supposed to only have half the caffine as regulare coffee. I still only drink 1 cup, sometimes not even finishing that one cup. And until the other day I hadn't had any other caffinated drinks. I had such a bad headache the other day I ordered a coke at dinner.
