The VA [ Veterans Administration ] has looked into using fluvastatin as a treatment for HSV with some impressive results. One patient had a 1/50th load count after 4 weeks of treatment. Some others showed dramatic reductions in load counts also. Has anyone out there tried this treatment ? It does have FDA approval as a treatment for high blood pressure. VA looking for effective treatment for drug resistant HCV infections.http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.

I just read a recent article (March 31) about Fluvastatin enhancing HCV response in combo with SOC. www.esciencenews.com Search Fluvastatin Has anyone on the forum had first hand experience with it? I'm just searching for all options.

Anyway, they think there may be some promise and plan to continue research in this area. They found fluvastatin to be the most effective at killing the virus, and lovastatin to be the least effective, but all had some negative impact on the virus. I just thought that this was an interesting find and since it was in the AMA journal, thought I would pass it along for what it's worth.

Accordingly, Plavix may interfere with the metabolism of phenytoin, tamoxifen, tolbutamide, warfarin, torsemide, fluvastatin, and many non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents, but there are no data with which to predict the magnitude of these interactions. Anyone have any suggestions on when I should start to look up where and when Na is in my area and actually try to go to a meeting. I sure don't feel like I can right now but will take suggestions into consideration as I know it will be a must for me to stay clean. I know before I felt better at day 14 and I did not go and here I am wding again. Thanks guys and gals.

Did any of you find that NA works? I have tried counsiling but even with insurance I cant afford the cost of what I need to stay sober? I am still using. I had a 2 month break but when i went back to the real world I relaped. MY mother did NA and OA and every kind of A possible but she is just an addiction transfer type person. At this point I am willing to try it. My experience with alnon as a kid was horrible.

WOOHOO!!! I did it guys I finally found an NA group that I like and everybody there is very nice. Its about a 20 minute drive away so not too bad and so worth it! I actually found a lady there with a similar story to mine and she has been clean for 10 years now. I am exctied I was really getting nervous that NA just wasnt for me but this is in a nice area in the next town over.

Has NA been helpful for you in your recovery? I'm considering going to my first meeting tomorrow, I'm just not sure if a 12 step program is right for me.

Do any of you go to NA meetings? Do you also have FT time jobs, FT kid responsibilites, FT house duties and so on? How do you find time to go? Is it necessary to go to NA?

The questions and responses that everyone has are quite helpful to me for the most part. However, I would like to start going to NA meetings. My ex boyfriend (who I started using with) has been going to them for awhile and they really seem to have been doing him good (from what I saw before we broke up). Right before we broke up I had mentioned that I would like to start going as well and he expressed to me the he did NOT want me to go.

My DOC is different, but really... when all boiled down... addiction is addiction. If we're using any substance to change the way we feel, we have a problem... yeah? Both AA and NA can be beneficial...

Ive looked in the pho ne book and online and not really having much luck finding any NA meetings in my area. does anyone have a website or any resource that has a listing ? That would be awesome and sooooo appreciate thank you!

For any of you that go to NA could you recommend which books to me helped you the most....I was going to order them online. I am not able to do meetings with my toddler. But I am a reader and would like to read as much as I can to educate myself more. I was looking at Basic Text & Just for Today for sure....
