As you knew the Fluticasone component of Advair is an anti-inflammatory drug. It is possible that for 7 years you had non-infectious inflammation of your throat, suppressed by the inhaled steroid and is now active (in effect, unmasked) . The most common causes of such a sore throat would be chronic post-nasal drip and Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD). You might want to ask your doctors to check out these possibilities.

I am allergic to nine enviromental allergens and have been taking fluticasone propionate (flo-nase) for the past three monts and it's been working fine to treat sinus pressure, my only main symptom. However, since i started, i've noticed for the first time in as long as i remember that i've been getting thick nasal mucus either dark red or black, sometimes streaked and sometimes completely colored, while before it's always been thin and clear.

the rash-like thing disappears sometimes but reappears again without specific stimulation. i had been applying fluticasone cream(which i think is a steroid cream) now and then for the past two years. the rash eases down on application of the cream. but that is never permanent disappearence and it appears again. since, fluticasone is, as much as i know, a steroid, i would like to know whether it can be replaced with some permanent treatment.
I have a esophagus condition and was told to take flonase and spray 2 shots in my mouth twice a day. Flonase is a steroid and it helps with the inflammation. I had difficulty swallowing to the point of choking and passing out and this has helped me tremendously.
A year or so ago I finally went to an ENT, she said I had alergic rhinitis and prescribed fluticasone. 6 months later I went back because I still had constant congestion and usually a sore throat. I think the fluticasone made it a little bit better. Hard to tell. She gave me cetirizine (Zyrtec) in addition to the Fluticasone.
Together they help a little, but they also make me sleepy all the time, and I still have congestion all the time.

You are correct in wanting to wait until you have achieved optimum benefit from the Advair® HFA (fluticasone propionate and salmeterol) Inhalation Aerosol, before any consideration of oxygen use. The Advair® HFA (fluticasone propionate and salmeterol) Inhalation Aerosol may raise your saturation, to a degree that will make oxygen use unnecessary.
I'm taking amoxicillin and my cheeks are very red, like i'm sunburnt, and very hot. It's only on my cheeks no where else on my face or body. I've been givien this same medicine many times and have never had this reaction, The only other thing I can think about is I was given a corticosteroid shot and nasal spray called Fluticasone. I noticed that there is a small patch on my left chin, where beard is scanty. It is not completely gone but the hair is scanty and the patch is obvious. I went to my dermatologist and he told me it is Alopecia Areata, though it could be in "initial stages" and it is "too hard to say anything". I had problem breathing and developed mild sore throat, after around 3 weeks of this pain I went to the doc he suggested me Fluticasone Nasal Spray and told this might be due to Sinusitis.Also I had CBC which showed high WBC count 12000 , it's been 5 weeks I still some thing in my ears and mild pain but it improved with the spray . i went to the same doc again he gave me steroid cream Fluticasone propionate to be applied for two months from now on!! It is used to treat secondary infection..!!
The reddish rashes disappears when i apply Fluticasone propionate cream continuosly!! if i discontinue the cream! then the reddish rashes are occuring!!
Hi, welcome to the forum, these drugs like Albuterol and fluticasone do not interfere much with the cardiac activity. Albuterol predominantly acts on respiratory bronchioles but has a little action over heart. Hence, it should be cautiously used in him; these may cause elevation in blood pressure, heart rate and result in CNS stimulation/excitation. Albuterol may also increase risk of arrhythmias.
Such effects are quiet negligible when given by inhalational route.
My ENT has me using Fluticasone, but no other suggestions. I am hearing whistling in my ears when I talk. Feels like I need to pop my ears.

Since reading the information, I have stopped using the nose spray. It may take awhile, but I'll see if that was causing my heartbeat concern..
I notice that the ingredient that in Flonase is the same (fluticasone propionate) as is found in Flovent..
It occurs to me that flonase might even work better because more of the stream of fluticasone propionate would hit the back of my throat and be swallowed, getting more to my esophagus and less to my mouth.
The key point though is I can get flonase inexpensively, whereas the flovent is more than I can easily afford.
