Avatar m tn I have been prescribed Fluticasone Furoate Nasal Spray and the information leaflet says not to use it at the same time as topical steroids. Once I finish using the topical steroid do I need to leave a gap before starting to use the nasal spray and if so for how many days?

Avatar f tn the rash-like thing disappears sometimes but reappears again without specific stimulation. i had been applying fluticasone cream(which i think is a steroid cream) now and then for the past two years. the rash eases down on application of the cream. but that is never permanent disappearence and it appears again. since, fluticasone is, as much as i know, a steroid, i would like to know whether it can be replaced with some permanent treatment.
Avatar n tn I was given fluticasone propionate .05% cream for the area on my thigh and wrist. This cream was another corticosteroid which I was wanting to get off of. Perhaps I should have been on a cream fungi maint after the oral? I recently have seen a different dermatologist who suspected that I was allergic to the lotions I was applying. I was given a patch test with results of cobalt chloride, disperse yellow 3 and narcissus absolute.
Avatar f tn This lists some differential diagnoses for intertrigo - conditions that are similar that should be ruled out or considered when diagnosing intertrigo: "The differential diagnosis (other conditions that resemble intertrigo) include familial pemphigus, hidradenitis suppurativa, inverse psoriasis, staphylococcal or streptococcal impetigo, and seborrheic dermatitis.
Avatar m tn I noticed that there is a small patch on my left chin, where beard is scanty. It is not completely gone but the hair is scanty and the patch is obvious. I went to my dermatologist and he told me it is Alopecia Areata, though it could be in "initial stages" and it is "too hard to say anything". He told me to apply fluticasone cream twice a day, for a month. And if the hair doesn't grow back, he will give me steroid injections. Should I get those injections?
Avatar f tn I have tried valacyclovir pills, eczema cream, antibacterial ointments, proactive, petroleum jelly, blistex, fluticasone propionate cream and have iced it and there has been no difference. Someone please help!!!
Avatar m tn Hello, Instead of Fucidin which is a topical antibiotic, you can use other topical antibiotics like Mupirocin or Neosporin. Folliculitis starts when hair follicles are damaged by friction from clothing or blockage of the follicle. In most cases of folliculitis, the damaged follicles are then infected with the bacteria Staphylococcus (staph). Please keep the area clean and apply some topical antiseptics.
Avatar n tn So I have a cut on my head and am applying an antibiotic cream once a day to help speed up healing. This can't dry out my hair or anything, can it? I may just be overthinking because I have a tendency to do that.
Avatar n tn t respond to over-the-counter medicine, you may need a prescription-strength topical or oral medication. These include topical antifungals like econazole (Spectazole) or oxiconazole (Oxistat) and oral antifungals like Itraconazole (Sporanox),Fluconazole (Diflucan) or Terbinafine (Lamisil) Triamcolone acetonide is a more potent type of triamcinolone, being about 8 times as effective as prednisone. It should not be used to treat fungal infections without consulting a dermatologist.
1486289 tn?1315842255 ve found the aveeno line of products to be EXTREMELY helpful and it has helped us to minimize the use of topical steroids. Aveeno does make a line of products for infants. There is also an infant eczema cream tho I'm not sure of the brand..it's in a pale green and white tube though.
Avatar f tn I’m a 25 year old male who is currently going through topical steroid withdrawal in the groin area. I had a case of jock itch and was prescribed a steroid cream mixed with an anti-fungal. After using it on my groin area for a few days, my scrotum and testes started to become inflamed and red. I assumed that this was the jock itch spreading and the doctors that I talked to believed that was the case.
Avatar n tn Which one is better for subsequent genital herpes o/b......acyclovir cream or ointment? What is the difference between the cream and the ointment? Thanks.
Avatar m tn Roughly two months ago I used a very potent topical corticosteroid, Clobetasol Proprionate, for around three weeks. Shortly after this I began breaking out excessively (I was on accutane earlier this year, so I was used to being clear). Ever since then I have not stopped breaking out on my face. The steroid was applied to my lower stomach area, and behind my arms. I have since researched the ointment, and it states that acne is a side effect.
Avatar f tn What does skin atrophy look like? I used a steroid cream Triamcinolone on my face months back. I used it periodically over the course of 3 to 4 months. Now my facial skin looks almost scarred. I can't quite tell if it is permanent scarring or atrophy. Can a steroid cream produce scarring? Is this reversible? How long does it usually take to reverse?
Avatar n tn Lots of topicals you can use for pain relief. could you be more specific about what you are looking for out of a topical? thanks!
Avatar m tn m an african american and recently used hydrocortisone 2% for about 2 weeks on my face to clear up some rashes. i used it 3-4 times a day and the cream worked perfectly but now i have noticeably light spots on my cheeks, t area and corners of my mouth. i stopped using it about a week and a half ago but theres still no change.
874521 tn?1424116797 rarely antihistamines can cause paradoxical excitement, so discontinue them if side effects occur. Topical benadryl or hydrocortisone cream can also be tried on localized areas of skin inflammation, but since cats groom themselves, topical products may not be particularly helpful. Avatar f tn Dermatologist treated for contact dermatitis Fluticasone Propionate cream with little result. Opthamologist treated for blepharitis with an antibiotic cream and eyelid wash, again no relief. I tried using Xalatan in AM rather than at nite, no change. Tried just Trusopt AM and early PM, no change. I have changed detergents, eliminated all makeups, started using Cetaphyl for face wash. Any clues to what I should do next?
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed with Seborrheic Dermatitis.I am washing with Sulfo-Lo soap and have tried Ala-Cort, Finacea, and Fluticasone Propionate Cream 0.05%. I have also had 30 days of Minocycline. But, nothing has worked. Please help. This is driving me crazy.
Avatar m tn I finally got a dermatology appointment in Jan 2011. The dermatologist started me off with Fluticasone (Cutivate) 0.005% to use 2 weeks on with one week off for 6 weeks. It feels good when applied for the first 30 min. to 1 hour but they would just dry and crust again when I don't use retail lip balms like vaseline or aquaphor after applying it. I went to my second appointment and had a lip biopsy.
Avatar m tn A week after exposure, I saw a nurse. She was fairly unconcerned and gave me a prescription for fluticasone propionate cream. It seems to have helped. By September 10th the itching was almost gone, even when the cream had worn off. I have been putting it on my arms and legs, but not the non-itchy spots on my torso. So, the itching is pretty much gone except for a little bit on my legs. The redness comes and goes on my arms and legs. My torso has not visibly changed in well over a week.
Avatar m tn Hello, Promiseb is a nonsteroidal prescription cream indicated to manage and relieve the signs and symptoms of seborrheic dermatitis whereas desonide is a topical steroid cream. You should use topical steroids only after prescription from a doctor and under medical supervision. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
