Fluticasone sore throat

Common Questions and Answers about Fluticasone sore throat

advair

Avatar m tn 6 months later I went back because I still had constant congestion and usually a sore throat. I think the fluticasone made it a little bit better. Hard to tell. She gave me cetirizine (Zyrtec) in addition to the Fluticasone. Together they help a little, but they also make me sleepy all the time, and I still have congestion all the time. I called and asked and she just said to also take phenlyeprine (sudaphed PE) and guaifenesin (Mucinex).
Avatar n tn Hi there, I stopped advair a few months ago. I was on it previously for 7 years. Since then I've had a sore/irritated throat and have seen the doctor who has done two cultures with nothing abnormal growing. They don't see anything either. It's like every little thing irritates my throat and it happened as soon as I stopped the advair. Any ideas what this could be ?
Avatar f tn I suggest you NEVER take Flonase (Fluticasone Propionate)! I never will again. Had a sore throat and the doctor at the clinic had me take Flonase saying it was an allergy and I did, against my better judgement. Developed a cough about10 days later and saw my regular physician (probably much later than I should have, about two more weeks) and she gave me an antibiotic that helped for a while and told me that if this continues, to have a chest x-ray.
Avatar m tn My throat is tickly and occasionally I cough up yellow phlegm, but the symptoms are bearable and it is just the cough and a mild sore throat - no fever, chest pain etc. The doctor here in Tokyo took a look in my mouth and ruled out what that test indicates (viral infection?).
Avatar n tn all i have is my nose that gets blocked so often that i have to breathe with mouth and also have a permanent sore throat. currently in indiana. If someone can give me professional advice or recommend a specialist it would be appreciated!!! As i think my condition keeps getting worse. also i smoke but the doctor tell me it has no relation to my allergies!(i'm quitting) and when i stop smoking it gets a looot worse as i have much more mucus coming. (seen doctors in both india and US) .
Avatar f tn Yes..Advair is horrible for you. It brings your immune system way down. If you can go without it, I suggest you do so. I have meneire's diseases and I believe it was caused by the advair. My sister is on the Advair and has a constant sore throat but she can't breath very well without it. She could breath better before she was on advair. At first, you feel great on Advair. After a few months, for a lot of people, your health is worse.
Avatar m tn I notice that the ingredient that in Flonase is the same (fluticasone propionate) as is found in Flovent.. It occurs to me that flonase might even work better because more of the stream of fluticasone propionate would hit the back of my throat and be swallowed, getting more to my esophagus and less to my mouth. The key point though is I can get flonase inexpensively, whereas the flovent is more than I can easily afford.
Avatar n tn Throat infections are most probably due to streptococcal or a viral infections. Strep sore throat needs to be treated with an antibiotic as strep is a bacteria. Viral sore throat is best treated with rest, warm oral fluids and (OTC) tylenol (acetaminophen) or ibuprofen for pain. As you have white coating on the tonsils, you will need to consult your primary care physician for a strep test, which if positive you will be given antibiotics.
Avatar f tn Then I started feeling the lump in my throat and the sensation of being choked. I went to the doctor who prescribe ambien to help me sleep. It helped me fall asleep, but not stay asleep. She also sent me to ENT. ENT said it looked like silent reflux. Put me on two nose sprays: azelastine and fluticasone. She also put me on Ranitidine. I also use the nedi-pod. I started feeling better, but after the 30 day supply, I began feeling it all come back.
Avatar f tn I to feel like there is a lump in my throat and that I have mucus all the time down by the esophagus. My doctors keep giving me something for sinus, even though I tell them that it feels like a lump in my throat. If I lay flat, there is a wheezing sound, I have had x rays of my chest and they are fine. I feel like I have to clear my throat all the time. What can I do. He put me on a nasal spray fluticasone.
2017838 tn?1330598150 Thank you so much for your comment In fact, I don't have any problems with my sinus anymore except for the ear popping. The ENT prescribed fluticasone propionate which I have not used until now because I'm concern about the side effects. My question is can the ear popping resolve by itself ?? Without using fluticasone propionate ? Or complications might happen like ear infection if I don't use fluticasone propionate ?

Avatar m tn It all started back to 8 weeks ago when I engaged in sex (oral and vaginal) with a woman. 3 weeks later I began having a sore throat that I originally attributed to allergies. Then it became very severe for a week and then got some what better. I've also experienced a white tongue for at least 3 of the weeks. There's no sores on my tongue, it's just got this white layer that almost seems like it's in my tongue. I can temporarily make it better with my electric tooth brush.
Avatar m tn I had problem breathing and developed mild sore throat, after around 3 weeks of this pain I went to the doc he suggested me Fluticasone Nasal Spray and told this might be due to Sinusitis. Also I had CBC which showed high WBC count 12000 , it's been 5 weeks I still some thing in my ears and mild pain but it improved with the spray . At the 8th week I had diarrhea for 2-3 days . For almost 2 months I am in extreme stress and anxiety .
Avatar m tn ve been told by one doctor my lymph nodes on the left side of my throat are quite swollen and that this could cause throat problems. I'm gonna continue seeking the remedy to this because I can't just give up and be miserable forever. Is there any suggestions you could give me? I'm just at a loss.
Avatar m tn I have a 17 year old son for 10 months has been feeling sharp and burning chest pain. In the last 3 months he's been feeling like food is getting stuck in his throat and acid coming up.He recently underwent an endoscopy an was told he has minor damages to the esophagus. Furthermore, He has been recently feeling the sensation or feeling food stuck in his throat ( I'm not sure which one) more often. Is this common? He has been taking lanasaprazole for 3 and 1/2 months.
Avatar n tn Having been on Advair for one year, I now have "frogs" in throat which causes me - a singer - to lose my voice when singing low notes. The Advair was discontinued and I am now on Symbicort which, I am afraid, is causing the same problem. Is there a simple "home remedy" for this problem? Thank you.

Avatar m tn I had mononucleosis some months ago and when my throat was irritated I sort of felt this for a few seconds a few times and then it just vanished and now, after almost 4 months I have this. When I bend forward doesn't get worse. Actually, I feel a little bit heavy, but just a little bit. A few weeks ago (due to some medical checking) I had blood tests conducted and everything was within the normal values. When I lay on the bed looking at the ceilling it doesn't bother me.
Avatar n tn It could sometimes be due to the medication. As fluticasone propionate causes irritation of the nasal mucus membranes. Other adverse events that occurr with fluticasone propionate (with uncertain relationship to treatment) include: blood in nasal mucus, runny nose, flu-like symptoms, aches and pains, and dizziness. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn Please help me!!!
2114467 tn?1358210256 Coadministration with the hepatitis C virus (HCV) NS3/4A protease inhibitors, boceprevir and telaprevir, may increase the systemic exposure to fluticasone following intranasal administration or oral inhalation. Boceprevir and telaprevir are potent inhibitors of CYP450 3A4. Since fluticasone undergoes extensive first-pass and systemic metabolism via hepatic and intestinal CYP450 3A4, inhibition of the isoenzyme may significantly increase systemic bioavailability of the drug.
Avatar n tn Advair™ Diskus® (fluticasone propionate and salmeterol) Inhalation Powder contains 2 medicines. The inhaled steroid Flovent® (fluticasone propionate) has a half life of around 5 hours, so it would be totally out of your system in a few days. The inhaled long-acting bronchodilator Serevent® (salmeterol) has a similar half life, so it would be totally out of your system after 5 days. When steroid side effects occur, they may linger for weeks or even months after the medicine has been stopped.
