1161616 tn?1262747549 I am allergic to pcn. I am taking Depo Perva injection, Zyrtec-D qhs, Fluticasone 16GM bid (generic for Flonase,) Nitrofurantion100MG qhs (generic for Macrodantin,) & Ibuprofen 200MG as needed for inflammation.I have been experiencing almost constant swelling of my hands accompanied w/ an intermittent tingling sensation. I have frequent urination, extreme thirst, & bloating. I seem to be exhausted 90% of the time. I also have lots of varicose veins in both my legs.
Avatar n tn It could sometimes be due to the medication. As fluticasone propionate causes irritation of the nasal mucus membranes. Other adverse events that occurr with fluticasone propionate (with uncertain relationship to treatment) include: blood in nasal mucus, runny nose, flu-like symptoms, aches and pains, and dizziness. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar n tn I'm taking amoxicillin and my cheeks are very red, like i'm sunburnt, and very hot. It's only on my cheeks no where else on my face or body. I've been givien this same medicine many times and have never had this reaction, The only other thing I can think about is I was given a corticosteroid shot and nasal spray called Fluticasone. It's not shown as a side effect of the nasal spray, but could it be from one of these other medicines. Should I call my pharmacist or doctor?
Avatar f tn - Z-pack - Flovent hfa110mcg inhaler 12gm- 2-3 every 12 hours - Fluticasone nasal spray (120inh) 16gm- 1 spray in each nostril every 8 hrs for 2 days and then 1 spray every 12 hours. - I also took regular Mucinex during this time 9 days later after finishing the Z-pack I called the Dr. having trouble still.
Avatar n tn Was it near your nose? I checked the official prescribing information for Veramyst (fluticasone nasal spray) and it does not specifically state that this drug is contraindicated for those with melanoma or any other cancer. However, for those with recent nasal surgery, this drug should be avoided as it delays wound healing and increases the risk of fungal (Candida) infection.
612551 tn?1450022175 The doctor recently prescribed fluticasone propionate nasal spray and some antibiotics. Is it okay to combine the spray with saline nasal irrigation? If so, how do I combine them?
2114467 tn?1358210256 In 18 healthy subjects, administration of fluticasone propionate nasal spray (200 mcg once daily) in combination with the potent CYP450 3A4 inhibitor ritonavir (100 mg twice daily) for 7 days resulted in an approximately 25-fold increase in fluticasone peak plasma concentration (Cmax) and 350-fold increase in systemic exposure (AUC) compared to administration alone. These changes were accompanied by an 86% decrease in mean plasma cortisol AUC.". http://www.drugs.com/interactions-check.

Avatar n tn I don't think this fully relates, but I had chonic sinusitus for eight years. I would get 4-8 sinus infections a year, constant migrains and sinus pressure headaches, and started growing an immunity to antibiotics and did take one round of a steriod drug for it. I also had allergy testing done and found at least 30 things that I'm allergic to. Most were food, but, many of them enviromental allergies that I was unaware of.
Avatar m tn I notice that the ingredient that in Flonase is the same (fluticasone propionate) is the same one used in flonase.. It occurs to me that flonase might even work better because more of the stream of fluticasone propionate would hit the back of my throat and be swallowed, getting more to my esophagus and less to my mouth. The key point though is I can get flonase inexpensively, whereas the flovent is more than I can easily afford.
Avatar m tn I am currently applying a topical steroid for a fungal infection with the treatment to finish in a few days. I have been prescribed Fluticasone Furoate Nasal Spray and the information leaflet says not to use it at the same time as topical steroids. Once I finish using the topical steroid do I need to leave a gap before starting to use the nasal spray and if so for how many days?
Avatar m tn but for the past 1 year i am not really compliant to the nasal spray treatment because i always forgot to take it. So is the past 1 year of my nasal spray considered a risk for cataract and glaucoma?
Avatar f tn I'm also taking Fluticasone Propionate and have the very same issue. I think it's because the nasal spray dries out the nasal cavity. At first, I started having bloody noses, but then that stopped and this current symptom started. My doctor had said it may make the nose very dry and to try saline solution once daily after the Flonase. I have yet to do that, but it's supposed to help. Hope that helps.
Avatar f tn Hi raunn, then in that case please do continue with the above said medications for a week then you can use steroid nasal spray (like fluticasone) for few months and continue antihistaminics for a few days and later you can use it whenever you are having allergic problems.
Avatar m tn hello doc i am 21 m from Punjab India i am using "Azelastine hydrochloride & Fluticasone Propionate" Nasal spray from last 3 years for my allergic nose problem , my nose gets watery and i start sneezing badly whenever it begins. So far i have tried using citrizine tablets which didn't workout for me. But Duonase the nasal spray is very effective and addicting. And i just noted that i am suffering from high blood pressure these days. I doubt it may be because of this spray.
Avatar m tn I have had severe nasal allergies on my right side only and went to the doctor. He prescribed claritin d 12 hour which helped for a little however I began to feel nervousness which i had been feeling before i took claritin d. I went back and he prescribed antibiotics, fluticasone propionate (nasal spray), and aller-tec. My allergies are completely gone however the nervousness is still there. I have stopped using everything for about four days now what should I do?

2017838 tn?1330598150 Thank you so much for your comment In fact, I don't have any problems with my sinus anymore except for the ear popping. The ENT prescribed fluticasone propionate which I have not used until now because I'm concern about the side effects. My question is can the ear popping resolve by itself ?? Without using fluticasone propionate ? Or complications might happen like ear infection if I don't use fluticasone propionate ?
Avatar n tn I have j been to an ENT for my sinus problem (i.e addiction to nasal spray and nose blockage. He had given me antibiotics (course is over) . He has also given me flixonase (fluticasone propionate) nasal spray, a solophar mouth/throat spray (Dequalinium chloride '0.015gm, benzalkonium chloride 0.035gm, alcohol 6% by volume) and Fexet (Fexofenadine:120mg) to have for one month. My course ends round about 25 september 2011.
Avatar m tn both of ours symptoms get resolved if we take antihistamine like cetrizine + montelukast. But if we take fluticasone nasal spray, there is no improvement at all even after month..both of us get no relief from nasal sprays...even tried metaspray (mometasone). What is the reason behind this?? Is it genetics? Or the corticosteroid is not getting absorbed? Or its getting absorbed but not producing result.
612551 tn?1450022175 My personal interest in this Community is my chronic night time (sleep time) nasal congestion. I have tried the generic for Flonase (fluticasone) which didn't help much, not ow Astepro (not a steroid) which is a little more help, but none are as good as the over the counter Afrin (or similar) which can not be used for long periods. This congestion led me to recognize I have some trouble waking up with a suffocation sensession. .

Avatar n tn i completely sympathize with your symptoms. i've been struggling with horrible nasal congestion. and now, that congestion has turned into a really bad runny nose. the minute i wake up, i have to blow my nose. but because your symptoms have been ongoing for over a month, i think you should see a specialist. if your doctor isn't recommending or suggesting that you see one, i think you should find a new doctor. i think any doctor should always have your best interest at heart.
Avatar n tn As you knew the Fluticasone component of Advair is an anti-inflammatory drug. It is possible that for 7 years you had non-infectious inflammation of your throat, suppressed by the inhaled steroid and is now active (in effect, unmasked) . The most common causes of such a sore throat would be chronic post-nasal drip and Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD). You might want to ask your doctors to check out these possibilities.
