fluoxetine sweating

I've been taking Fluoxetine (generic Prozac) for a few years now and about 6 months ago I upped my dosage. My sex drive on the lower dose was already low, but now it's almost non-existent. At first it wasn't a problem because I haven't been seeing anyone, but now that I am I would really like to try and fix this problem. Since I'm female feel like this is going to be a more difficult process. Would anyone know of any supplements that can help this side effect??

When I get hot or sweat I smell differently than I used to. It started in early spring of 2008. The only thing changed in my diet has been that I've doubled my prescription of Fluoxetine from 20 mg to 40 mg. The only place I notice it being different is on my torso, like my back, stomach, and chest. It's strange, I know, but I smell vaguely of peanut butter (or something similar). And no, I am not eating a lot of peanut butter, or anything else in abundance.

ve been to the dermatologist twice this month for profuse sweating and problems w/my eyes (itchy,gritty, watery) and profuse sweating. The Doc told me not to wear makeup. Are the symptoms I am experiencing a side effect of sertraline? I am on day 16 of taking 50mg sertraline after switching from cymbalta to try and find a saferdrug to try for pregnancy. My brother went to a psychiatrist and he prescribed him fluoxetine and xanax. He said that my brother should take one 20mg tablet of fluoxetine for the morning and 0.5 tablet for xanax for morning and night for 14 days . He said to take the 0.5 mg xanax tablet half in morning and the other half at night So, my brother took the fluoxetine and xanax for 14 days and then again went to the psychiatrist. My brother has not felt any improvement for his ocd or depression from the tablets.

I cannot seem to kick the Daytime sleepiness. I am taking 40 mg, fluoxetine, 150 bupropion. When I was on the bupropion with lamictal it seemed like I had less of this sleepiness. Is there a possibility that lamictal may help? Anyone with experience on this? Should I up the fluoxetine, up the bupropion, switch bupropion for lamictal , add lamictal, up bupropion? Thoughts?

I went to the doctors and saw a new doctor 5 weeks ago and he said he would take me off trazadone 50mg and to start taking fluoxetine i asked him when i take the fluoxetine he said today and in 4 weeks he will cut down my trazadone. But the 4 week appointment he was not in so i cancelled it.

How long before I begin to see any benefits? Also, two more questions - they may seem trivial, but they are bothering me - is it safe to break open the Fluoxetine capsules, as I can not swallow them? Also I am taking 5mg Diazepam - is that safe?

Fluoxetine is generic Prozac. I've been on it a few times, and I'm back on it again. It will take 4-6 weeks before you begin to feel a difference (sometimes sooner). But it will happen. The only side effect I've ever had from it was insomnia, but that always goes away in a few weeks, so give it some time. As far as alcohol goes, you don't say how much you drank, but I have had a couple of beers now and then on fluoxetine without any problems.

I've had depression for some time and was prescribed fluoxetine a few months ago. In the second and third week of taking it I experienced what I can only describe as mild euphoria and a sort of agitation- not being able to sleep, restlessness and the shakes- which was not unpleasant because of the euphoric feeling that accompanied it.

There's no such thing as a nervous breakdown. You need to get into therapy. As for the medication, you won't know if it'll work until you try it -- we all react differently. Alcohol increases depression and stomach problems, so that's a problem, not a remedy.

Ive been to the doctors and they put me on Fluoxetine tablets. One a day until they tell me to stop. However I've had two so far but want to stop. I know you have to slowly come off of them but if I've only had two can I just stop? Please help!

Do not stop taking fluoxetine without talking to your doctor. Can I take both 20mg fluoxetine and 25 mg amytriptyline to help with my depression. I'"ve taken both seperately without any problems I had an ECG when I was taking 100mg amytriptyline and no probelms excerpt hypertension with the amytriptyline (I take 10mg of atenolol daily and have done for some time) On Fluoxetine my BP is 120/80 - just wondered if I can combine safely the drugs smller dosage for my dysthmia.

About a month ago I went to see a psych and he put me on 40mg of fluoxetine and told me to come back in a month and a half to up the dosage. However, I'm not sure if it's working for me... or if I'm just getting bad side effects. Within the month that the psych left me I had to go through a length and painful trial, to which the fluoxetine just made feel completely numb, I know I should feel sad but for some reason I can't cry.
