I am not physically restricted - I walk 1 mile or more day and do 10 minutes of other light exercises most days. My BP runs under 120/80 most of the time. I understand carvedilol helps prevent stiffening of the heart muscle and can help restore LV function to some degree. How specially, so it do this? What is the biochemical mechanism?

Since starting fluoxetine I've felt so out of control even more so than before starting it. I'm so emotional I feel like I'm losing my mind and for the first time I'm wanting to cut myself. I've fought the cutting feeling for days and today it got so out of control I cut myself for the first time ever. What is wrong with me, please help me!!! I'm so scared. Is it the med or am I going crazy? I've only taken it for 3 weeks at 20mg daily if that helps. Please help me!
The withdrawal effects should long be over and you might consider an alternate explanation for your symptoms, and a corresponding course of action. The medications does not cure the underlying anxiety, it only contains it. If these are symptoms of anxiet and ocd, then you might try a good course of psychotherapy and get to the source of your anxiety rather than look for a new form of suppressant..
5mg clonazepam, one fluoxetine tablet and 20mg of baclofen a day but i am still getting worse. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Some days I can't even feed myself.

My brother went to a psychiatrist and he prescribed him fluoxetine and xanax. He said that my brother should take one 20mg tablet of fluoxetine for the morning and 0.5 tablet for xanax for morning and night for 14 days . He said to take the 0.5 mg xanax tablet half in morning and the other half at night
So, my brother took the fluoxetine and xanax for 14 days and then again went to the psychiatrist. My brother has not felt any improvement for his ocd or depression from the tablets.
Unfortunately, most of the SSRI-type AD's cause weight gain, that is one of the more bothersome effects.
I'm with Maddie above, personally, I would rather be somewhat overweight and my issues (mine are severe anxiety and panic attacks) in check than worry about weight and be in constant mental turmoil. Everyone is different, however.
I have found that once I found the right AD, I was better off just sticking with it than "rocking the boat", so to speak.

I have been taking 20mg of Fluoxetine and I was wondering if how I feel now is normal I just sort of feel like blah and almost not really care about much (I don't know how else to describe it) is this normal?

I cannot seem to kick the Daytime sleepiness. I am taking 40 mg, fluoxetine, 150 bupropion. When I was on the bupropion with lamictal it seemed like I had less of this sleepiness.
Is there a possibility that lamictal may help? Anyone with experience on this? Should I up the fluoxetine, up the bupropion, switch bupropion for lamictal , add lamictal, up bupropion?

In the second and third week of taking it I experienced what I can only describe as mild euphoria and a sort of agitation- not being able to sleep, restlessness and the shakes- which was not unpleasant because of the euphoric feeling that accompanied it. Since then this has subsided and even though I am still taking it, it is not really having an effect and I am almost back to how I was before I began taking it.
There's no such thing as a nervous breakdown. You need to get into therapy. As for the medication, you won't know if it'll work until you try it -- we all react differently. Alcohol increases depression and stomach problems, so that's a problem, not a remedy.
Seeing an orthodontist is advised.
Ive been to the doctors and they put me on Fluoxetine tablets. One a day until they tell me to stop. However I've had two so far but want to stop. I know you have to slowly come off of them but if I've only had two can I just stop? Please help!
