Once again just as focalin did this made me very sick last night causing the palor and tremor just as focalin had. I experienced twitches and insomnia last night got 2 hours of sleep but and 5 the night before but am awake but i feel terrible.
I really need some educated advice on some proper medication choices to talk with my doctor about. I can't focus to any extent without the ADD medication but the side effects i am getttting arn't worth it.
For the past 10 years I have been snorting my Focalin. I've done upwards of 6000milligrams in one day. I've managed to not snort more than 4-5 pills a day in the recent years but I can't stop. I literally live my life drunk, high, and focalized. I've been to rehab and have used AA and manage to stay sober for like 4 months on multiple occasions. But the one thing that always takes me out is when I snort the Focalin again. It triggers everything bad that I do.
Yes I suffer from the same problems as you describe above and have been on and off fluoxetine for several years for major depression and I can reassure you that the side effects as far as increased anxiety at the beginning of treatment are common and I have had to take an antianxiety medication for the first couple of weeks to combat this effect. In 2-3 weeks it should subside and that's usually when I also start to feel the desired effect of fluoxetine.
i dont reallly think i have adhd bad cause i still get all the positive recreational effects from amphetamines and other adhd drugs. focalin is dexmethylphenidate and its twice as potent as methylphenidate(ritalin, concerta, etc)..im suppsoed to take 40 mgs daily and it does help with my minor symptoms and gives me quite a stimulant effect, but for me and my addictive personality its like playin with fire.
I've recently started taking focalin because I've been kind of depressed and when I take it, it makes me feel kind of like I'm "on top" but the after math *****, then when I think I can stop I can't and I've tried showing myself the symptoms and what it can do to me to scare myself and for some reason that doesn't work.
I take 10 mg focalin once a day for my adhd. As usually I swallow it with some water. I never feel it affect me besides not being able to sleep. I had a friend who said if I snort it I will feel it better and that if I did it instead of swallowing it once a day, it wouldn't cause an addiction.
I have a 22 year old college student, with a bad addiction to snorting Focalin (they are prescribed to me for narcolepsy and adhd) and smoking marijuana. I have been snorting the pills for about 7 months now, and I can't get myself to stop. I finally gave the pill bottle to my girlfriend to regulate for me, and watch me take it in the morning so I dont just keep it and snort it later.
I have experience with rehab and drug abuse prior to the focalin.
not sure what focalin is but if your putting it up your nose it can't be good as for doin it right the next time i don't think so you quit for 6 days and started again that should tell you something what are you taking it for anyway dont feel bad about yourself sometimes it takes 3,4,maybe10 times befor we can get it right but if you are serious about getting clean then you have come to the right place lots of great people and support and advice keep tryin and again don't be to hard
not sure what this means.. melatonin reduces the antidepressant effect of fluoxetine.. and then in the last sentence fluoxetine has lead to a measurable depletion of melatonin in people..

My children have been on Focalin XR for years now and have had wonderful results. Before this my son was on concerta and strattera together and it zoned him out, but the focalin allows him to focus and still be the same kid he always was. You can definately tell when the medicine has worn off, but when he is medicated he is his normal polite agreeable self and, just more focused. He is able to concentrate in class with no problems.
I know that abilify helps you have an appetite and gain weight and my son is only 56lbs and 11yrs old...

The teacher and counselors asked me to get him tested and I did I just never went back for the resutls. This year he is still not focusing but no longer wetting, although he does still soil his clothes maybe once a week. So the teachers asked me to get him checked, this morning was his first treatment of Focalin XR and I am a nervous wreck. Is anyone else child on this? I just want my son to excel, is this really the way.
My brother went to a psychiatrist and he prescribed him fluoxetine and xanax. He said that my brother should take one 20mg tablet of fluoxetine for the morning and 0.5 tablet for xanax for morning and night for 14 days . He said to take the 0.5 mg xanax tablet half in morning and the other half at night
So, my brother took the fluoxetine and xanax for 14 days and then again went to the psychiatrist. My brother has not felt any improvement for his ocd or depression from the tablets.
I also take Pristiq 50mg since 09/08 and makes me feel very good, but is not enough for me to accomplish what I need to do. Since is only been days that I took the Focalin, the first day, I vomited and I have a light headache. Didn't feel hungry after breakfast for the rest of the day. Concomitant use of tramadol and serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) such as fluoxetine increases the risk of seizures and serotonin syndrome. It may also reduce the pain relieving properties of the tramadol. If you must take tramadol, do not take it at the same time as fluoxetine. Try to take tramadol and imitrex a few hours apart from the fluoxetine.

There has been a lot of confusing and concerning information in the medical and lay literature about ADHD medications and their effects on the heart. The concern has come lately from the use of stimulant medications and their supposed association with increased incidence of sudden cardiac death. Let me be quite clear here: there has been no good data to demonstrate that stimulant therapy increases the incidence of sudden cardiac death in the general population.

Lately, I have been having bradycardia issues, specifically in the evening time. My pulse is usually between 48 and 52 beats per minute... which is a bit low for me. I am taking the medicine for hypertension... but since heart disease runs in my family and fish oil has some pretty good evidence behind it, I thought I would take it 2. Any comments, suggestions?
