Fluorescein angiography of eye

Common Questions and Answers about Fluorescein angiography of eye

angiogram

Avatar m tn Optical cohdrence tomography showed flattened pigment epithelial detachment, resolution of neorosensory detachment, scarring in subfoveal choroidal neovascular with membrane appearing more compact and decreasein cystoid macular edema in right eye. Fundus fluorescein angiography done later showed staining of scar with decrease in leakage. He was advised repeat Avastin injection in right eye. On review fundus picture was stable in both eyes.
Avatar m tn for confirmation he send me to perform a Fluorescein Angiography and also advised me to reduce stress. Well, I did that. In eye clinic that I had my Fluorescein Angiography test, there was another eye specialist who also examined my left eye and he said both the fluorescein photographs and his examination show that my eye is OK and he dose not see any problem.
Avatar m tn I had seen an eye doctor becuase of vision loss in my left eye, i had my eyes fully diolated, and went through an eye exam. About 4 -5 days they performed the Angiogram, injected the dye into my arm and started to take photos of the eye. they didnt see anything that stood out so i was refered to the eye hospital downtown. About a week later i went down there had a full diolation done, and another eye exam.
Avatar n tn ago now, with my left eye, the straight lines (scale, edge of the wall, road, etc.) appear curved (positive Amsler grid test). Is this a sign of retinal detachment or it is posterior vitreous detachment, alternatively could it be retinal vessel occlusion or any other thing. My doctor suggested to do Fluorescein Angiography, Is it a reliable test method for me? Finally am I in emergency state and what shall I do to slow the development while doing the diagnosis..
275184 tn?1211224813 I went and a Fluorescein Angiography done on both eyes today, because of a spot in my top right central vision of my left eye. The best way to describe the spot is if I see a closed door and look at the black line between the closed door and the door frame, the black line looks normal except for a spot where the white flows over into the black line. There was no leakage in the Fluorescein Angiography, so that is a good thing.
Avatar f tn The specialist said she can see the spot but there are no lesions and the bleed is inactive, so her working diagnosis right now is white dot syndrome with retinal hemorrhage and nevus of choroid of the left eye. She wants me to return in a week. I am really confused about what white dot syndrome is? Is there any treatment? Will the vision in my left eye ever return to normal?
Avatar n tn I'm currently trying to research possibilities for the 'flashing' I have been having for the last two years in my left eye only. I'll give you a brief overview of my situation... The camera/torch type flash occurs between 1-3 times a day or every other day in my left eye. It happens at any occasion - eating a meal, watching tv, looking at the laptop etc. This never occurs in my right eye.
Avatar n tn s optic disc. She ordered several tests prescribed clarithromycine for 2 weeks. Fluorescein angiography, which i did several days later, showed no active lesions but scars only. In 2 weeks the symptoms have subsided, but i noticed enlarged blind spots in my vision, especially in the left eye. I did Mantoux test and it came back positive (20mm), but pulmonologist I'm fine.
1778927 tn?1381878747 In June I began seeing a red colored spot in my peripheral vision of my left eye. I went to the Ophthalmologist who stated I had two abnormally large blind spots in my eye. He referred me to a Retina Specialist. After Fluorescein Angiography they determined I have CSR. I was told that it will not make me blind but can distort the vision. He said it normally goes away on its own and to wait and see. After several rechecks the spot remained.
Avatar f tn Update: I went for a second opinion and the surgeon confirmed that I should have the surgery. In addition to the OCT, I had fluorescein angiography done as part of this surgeon's routine exam. Results revealed mild cystoid macular edema. He recommended a course of steroid drops prior to surgery to reduce inflammation. He also took the time to show me my fluorescein pictures and to discuss what they meant. He also explained exactly what he would do if he operated on me.
1778927 tn?1381878747 I began seeing a red dot suddenly out of the corner of my left eye back in June 2011. I immediately went to an Ophthalmologist who told me that he could not see anything but I seem to have abnormal blind spots. I was sent to a Retina Specialist. I was dilated and given Fluorescein Angiography and the doctor determined that I had CSR. I was told to wait about a month and come back. When I came back there was little to no change so I was told to wait longer.
Avatar m tn We performed a macular OCT and also fluorescein angiography (and I am one of the unlucky few who get nauseous from the dye). These images confirm the macular edema in my right eye is causing the image differences in vision between my eyes. He is going to re-evaluate me in two months and then consider treatment options. We've done a lot of laser in both eyes already. Any comments are welcome.
Avatar f tn Thankyou Sri
Avatar n tn Dear Chief30x, Fluorescein is a dye which can be used to determine the integrity of the front surface of the eye and to aid in intraocular pressure measurement. It can also be injected into the vein and photographs taken of the eye. I assumed your description was the latter and apologize for my misunderstanding. This led me to think that her symptoms led to retinal fluorescein angiogram.
Avatar f tn It makes a world if difference the training of the "eye specialists" you saw. Both should be Eye MD ophthalmologists not non MD optometrists. Ideally one would be an eye MD that specializes in retina/macula/vitreous. You should have some special tests: Macular and nerve fiber layer OCT, Amsler grid testing, visual field test. It is possible you might need a fluorescein angiogram. I suspect you have not had all these done, I would get them scheduled.
Avatar f tn Hello, I am 30 years young and have had a fluorescein angiogram about two weeks ago due to blurry/loss vision and change from far sighted all my life (with strabismus) to near sighted (of course I still have the strabismus) in my right eye. The cloudy blurriness I had is gone but the vision loss is the same. The retinal surgeon did find two layers of scar tissue and a big vein under that tissue, and a frawn of veins I believe he said, and some bleeding.
Avatar m tn Dear doc. I am in my early 20'. I am seeing something like this in both of my eyes always and it seems to be getting more noticable. I have 20/30 vision correctable with glasses. http://i1140.photobucket.com/albums/n568/hunteravatar12345/untitled.jpg The center dot is a perfect faint blackish dot i can see it. but more clearly if i blink fast. I have seen an opthamologist and a retina specialist and found nothing wrong. I also taken an ERG and Fluorescein Angiogram and it is normal.

Avatar m tn Can this be overlooked by a few dialated eye exams over the years? I believe I have the symptoms of once having central serous retinopathy. When I visit the opthamologist next, and am concerned that he may have overlooked a problem, should I ask if he can check with an fluorescein angiography? Or does a dialated exam usually rule out any central serous retinopathy.
1614798 tn?1298488605 Recently, I saw a retina ophthalmologist. I was injected with a fluorescein dye and my left eye was photographed with a special camera. The doctor noticed that I had slow blood flow in that eye. In his notes, he said it is a "possible ocular ischemia with prolonged arteriovenous transit." Other than that, my eye looked good. I just made an appointment to get a carotid artery ultrasound. I hope someone can figure this out soon. This is a pretty frightening place to be in.
Avatar m tn Clinical findings revealed a full-thickness macular hole in 4 eyes, an outer retinal disruption in 1 eye, an epiretinal membrane in 1 eye, a schisis-like cavity in 1 eye, and intraocular hemorrhage in 7 eyes, 5 with subhyaloid hemorrhage and 2 with a subinternal limiting membrane hemorrhage. "The initial best-corrected visual acuity had a mean of 20/290, and the final best-corrected visual acuity in all cases had a mean of 20/40," Dr. Arevalo reported.
