Avatar n tn I have been treated with Nystatin, Ketoconazole, Clotrimazole, Clotimazole and Betamethasone Dipropionate, fluconazole and itraconazole, one at a time over many months. The red inflamed area has still not gone but is not painful anymore.. I have seen an internest, a dermatologist and an infectious disease specialist. Any suggestions?

Avatar m tn A small section of my right cheek,Doctor first prescribed anti fungal cream (clotrimazole)+fluconazole weekly tabs for three weeks, cleared for a week then problem still persisted, urine test for chlamydia was negative, blood tests including blood sugar level normal.I dont expect much from the pinworm test and culture test since clotrimazole had cleared the small roughness (the skin looked normal all the way)Could be candida?BUT also i have BPH...could it be a prostate infection?
Avatar n tn Again, nothing on the glans, just redness and itchiness of the foreskin. I took fluconazole (oral) for a second time and bought myself Canesten cream (2% clotrimazole) and have been using it ever since. It's been almost 4 months. I no longer have any symptoms. It doesn't itch, it doesn't hurt, it doesn't smell ( i haven't had any bad smells and/or discharges ever before anyway ), but the redness just doesn't go away. It's been like that for the past 3 months or so.
Avatar m tn I tried miconazole and it has done the job, even though clotrimazole and fluconazole didn't work. Thank you very much.
Avatar f tn Hi doctor,i got this jock itch last year, first i tried tropical oitment like clotrimazole and miconazole but dint help. Then a doctor friend of mine suggested me fluconazole tabs once a week, after taking and applying oitment, it was cured but again came back after 10 days. Then i tried itraconazole 200mg a day for a month as suggested by another friend. It cured my itch but again came back after 10 days .
Avatar f tn There's like a faded pink/orange patch at the top of my penis, just left/below pee hole, whenever I ejaculate, whether it be intercourse or solo, it glows blood red for a couple of hours before returning to normal. Once returned to normal the penis glans then turn very dry and wrinkled. Is this normal? All happened since I got thrush but then cured the thrush, this has stayed?!!
Avatar n tn I tried Betnovet-M, but it gives relief for a very short period. Clotrimazole based powders relive the itching but not the clotrimazole based creams. I have tried not using soaps, but it did not help. I was given medicine for probable mite infection but it did not solve the problem, The itch is confined to groins only. To get relief I have been using clotrimazole based powders for a long time. Health information: Age: 28 Height 169 cm.
Avatar m tn Previously I tried home remedies which tended to burn excessively, Fluconazole for ten days along with clotrimazole cream. The ten day treatment got me half way there but the first Doc didn't want to re-fill--told me to try desatin (sp?) and LITERALLY had no other suggestions. The second Doc put me on the pills once a week along with Nystatin with a two week follow-up. It didn't help in the least. You know the rest. That's my story with what looks to be happy ending!
Avatar n tn Could be thrush and you need to be treated with an antifungal like fluconazole (single does tablet) or clotrimazole (if you prefer a cream or pessary). Both available over the counter. If the area is tender than urinating will irritate it and make it sting. But it could also be something else. Have you been having unprotected sex because there's the risk of an STD? Probably worth you going to your doctor but might be worth trying the antifungal.
Avatar m tn You can try any of the topical antifungals like topical clotrimazole, topical nystatin, fluconazole or topical ketoconazole. Also keep the skin dry and wear cotton undergarments. If the symptoms persist then pls consult a dermatologist as oral antifungals may be needed. I hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional doubts. Kind regards.
Avatar m tn Second time I went to a doctor I got prescribed fluconazole 200 mg, 1 pill per week for 12 weeks, plus clotrimazole cream. I have taken 5 out of the 12 pills, so 7 more weeks to go. I recently finished the whole tube of clotrimazole cream and have been using coconut oil as a substitute (read online that it worked well for male candida). The white spots were well gone within a few days of the first fluconazole pill, but for the past 4 weeks I haven't seen many changes.
Avatar f tn You could have thrush that needs to be treated with an over the counter antifungal. You may want to take a tablet (ie fluconazole) or use a cream or pessary (ie clotrimazole). What did the doctor say when you saw him the last time. But at any rate you probably need to see someone and get it diagnosed.
Avatar m tn So far no one has been able to diagnose this. Anti fungals such as clotrimazole and fluconazole have not worked. The bumps can be scraped off with a toothbrush but will return within a few hours. If they are left, they will grow to the size seen in the picture over about 2 to 3 days and then seem to get a little wider and perhaps not so round. They then seem to scrape off by themselves simply by eating something.
Avatar f tn Treatment involves getting an over the counter anti fungal from the pharmacy. You can use a cream or pessary ie clotrimazole (Canesten) or take a single dose tablet ie fluconazole (Diflucan). At the same time you might want to take some probiotics to help recolonise the good bacteria in your gut.
Avatar f tn t need to go to the doctor. You can get a once only tablet (fluconazole - Diflucan) or you can use a cream or pessary such as canesten (clotrimazole). It is very common to get thrush after antibiotics as they kill off all the good bacteria and allow there to be an overgrowth of Candida (the yeast that causes thrush).
Avatar n tn It spread rapidly from my torso to my arms and legs, and my neck. I went to see a doctor, who prescribed Fluconazole (150mg, 1 capsule a week for 4 weeks). After a few days the lesions on my stomach began to fade, so I felt I was getting better. I have just taken my third Fluconazole pill. The bad news is that although some parts of my body are definitely better, new ringworm has appeared on my face in the last few days. What should I do? I'm hoping to see the doctor again soon.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with a mild yeast infection. My doctor prescribed fluconazole pills but it only helped a little bit. I'm still having symptoms. I think she mentioned that she could prescribe a cream. Is there a difference between over the counter creams vs prescription creams prescribed by a doctor?
Avatar m tn use fluconazole 150 mg weekly once..and clotrimazole vaginal ointment daily ...
Avatar m tn After coming back to home, I visited a dermatologist, who said I got Candida Balanitis, and situation got worsened using steroid, he suggested to use Canesten (Clotrimazole) cream 2ice daily and take Forcan 150 (Fluconazole) once a week for 1 month. By this time I started feeling a burning sensation in glans and continuous mild pain. After using the medication for 1 week, the situation improved a lot (say 50%), but then kind of became persistent.
Avatar f tn I am 9 wks pregnant is it safe to take the fluconazole 200 mg to treat my yeast infection? It is only one pill but I am still unsure if it is safe...please help?
