Avatar m tn 40 YO, M, I’m used to getting fungal irritation on my inner thighs after going the beach, I usually apply Lamisil cream once and it goes away, I also had a toe nail fungus a few years ago, I treated it with Lamisil tablets for three month, it took care of it very well. On the ninth of Jun 2008 I was prescribed Norflaxacin for possible post ureteroscopy infection/pain. On the 17/Jul/08 I had my very first –supposed- penile yeast infection (last sexual intercourse around 25-Jun-08?
Avatar f tn Has anyone ever taken fluconazole? It's a tablet you take (only one) for yeast infection. My pharmacist said it's not for pregnant women but when I called the doc and told him what the pharmacist said he said it was ok to take. Has anyone else been prescribed this? I'm worried.

Avatar n tn Hello, Trauma to the nail can cause blackening of the nail because of injury to the nail bed and spillage of blood in nailbed. It does not sound like a fungal infection. This bleeding can resolve on its own and if the symptoms of severe pain persists then drilling of the nail to release the blood may have to be done. Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries.Kind regards.
Avatar n tn Hi, I'm 32 yrs old and a mother of two. The youngest is 14months. I know that I'm supposed to have hairloss after birth, but I noticed that it was turning into patches of baldness. I've tried to better my diet and when doing a bit of research, found that one of the side effects of taking fluconazole was hair loss. I've immediately stop taking this and want to know if my hairloss situation should get better.
Avatar m tn Does not work in many, fluconazole. Your doc may put you on terbinafine, or griseofulvin for best results.
Avatar m tn But base of my toe nail has turned bluish black and I feel there is a displacement in the nail position. The nail has moved forward displaced from its roots. Although it is not moving now, it is paining. I dont want to remove my nails. So I am going to leave it as it is. I hope it will be fine in a month or so. My only fear is whether infection is possible at this stage which may worsen the condition. Please suggest me in this regard.I will be grateful.
Avatar f tn Is there any home remedies that are safe in pregnancy to get rid of a yeast infection? I have already had it twice ans took that one day pill form of it. Just found out its listed as category c so that kind of annoyed me how my dr just acted like it was completely safe. I also really dont want to shoot medicine up there because it just sounds really difficult... any suggestions??
Avatar f tn Also, if this was a fungal/yeast infection, would 4 weeks of fluconazole usually shift it if it's not resistant?
869568 tn?1248372915 I think I might have a yeast infection or bacterial infection. I don't know for sure though. I made an appt with my doctor this morning around 10:45am so we'll see. I wondered, though, have any of you ever experienced this during pregnancy? Is this dangerous? I had a yeast infection once before a looooooooooong time ago and was treated with cream; is that safe during pregnancy?

Avatar m tn On the 17/Jul/08 I had my very first –supposed- penile yeast infection, saw a GP, he looked at it and prescribed one tablet of fluconazole 150 and Lotrisone cream for 14 days, it cleared it well.. On the 11/Sep/09 I was prescribed Ciprofloxacin for another infection, during which I developed what seemed like slight thrush on the middle of my tongue (still have it, didn’t get any worst).
689655 tn?1227249113 So I've had recurring yeast infections for a while now. I seriously get one every month. Sometimes it seems as if the only time I don't have even a slight infection, is when I'm on my period. My doctor prescribed fluconazole. She told me to take one pill each week for 6 months. The prescription information states that I should see results within 3-5 days. It has been 2 weeks now and just as I thought it was completely cleared up, it seems to be returning just slightly again.
Avatar f tn Anyone has been prescribe terconazole for yeast infection? I'm 40w + 1day I'm 1ct dilated. Doctor prescribed it to me but I'm concerned to used it. Since I'm due any day now.
Avatar f tn For yeast infections I was always given either monistat or fluconazole. A bacterial infection like BV would require metronidazole (flagyl).
Avatar f tn Fluconazole does work on yeast infections as it is an antifungal. Clindamycin is different and is an antibiotic. It fights bacteria, not yeast or fungus. Clindamycin can create a situation in which you get a yeast infection. It's not used to treat a yeast infection but fluconazole is.
Avatar f tn Have any of you ladies taken a single dose of fluconazole 150 mg during pregnancy?
Avatar f tn Another symptom is long term infection. And I've been having bacteria infection on my throat for a while now. Hmm... so many questions to ask my new doctor!!
Avatar f tn I have been dealing with a yeast infection that will only go away for about a week at best and then it comes right back. I have been to the doctor several times. And have been given fluconazole. I had a swab done after it came back twice, and it is just the normal yeast treatable with fluconazole. Well, it came back a 3rd and 4th time. My pcp gave me a few more pills and told me to take them once a week for a month to see if that was enough to kick it. Well, it’s back, again.
Avatar f tn Anytime you are on a prescription medication and you see a change or something happens, it's best to report it to your doctor so they are aware of what is happening- they will also be able to tell you if it's a side effect or something totally separate. Since fluconazole is used to treat yeast infections- it's not likely the cause, but the doctor should still know that you saw the fungal infection return, despite being on the medication.
Avatar f tn I'm 11wks also nd I think I have a yeast infection,, I took a fluconazole pill nd I'm using anti itch cream hopefully it goes away soon !
Avatar n tn You should go see a cornea specialist who could check your tear duct as well as the eye itself for signs of infection first. Taking the systemic fluconazole may get rid of the fungus in the eye as well as the ear (if it works). I wouldn't necessarily take antifungal drops without having a significant problem in the eye to make it worth it. So do get a good exam by an ophthalmologist to help you decide.
Avatar m tn Usually for most fungal infection the fluconazole dose would need to be taken twice a week for 2-3 weeks. However, please ask your doctor before stepping up the dose. If you plan to test for the cause, it is best to avoid using any anti-fungal r antibacterial for at least 72 hours. You can give a swab test and a urine test after this.
Avatar m tn i have petyriasis versicolor infection since las 4 years. I used fluconazone but it disappear for few months but come again after some time.
Avatar f tn Based off the symptoms I was having they told me that I had a yeast infection-(I had one about three months ago). They prescribed me fluconazole. I took it and felt better, but went back into my gynecologist for a follow up on Thursday(my symptoms were almost completely gone at this point.) They took a swab and said it the results said no it wasn’t a yeast infection, but she said yes she was sure I had had one. I took she told me to take the second dose of fluconazole, which I did that day.
