Hello, Trauma to the nail can cause blackening of the nail because of injury to the nail bed and spillage of blood in nailbed. It does not sound like a fungal infection. This bleeding can resolve on its own and if the symptoms of severe pain persists then drilling of the nail to release the blood may have to be done. Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries.Kind regards.
Itook a diabetic syringe and filled the sharp tip smooth , and cleaned out under the infected nail and twice a day just inject a little of the solution under the nail . It took 10 months but when the old infected nail was gone ( trimmed off ) i continued for about 2 more months and its been a year since and no problems .
Then, another small hole will eat through the nail. I'll end up with ridge after ridge on my nail. My thumb nail will start growing to the side, because of the weight of the high ridges. I'll need to keep the ridges filed down, level with my original nail, so I don't have so much pull on it. That "pull" hurts terribly. I feel no pain when I keep the ridges filed down. This was ongoing for a few years. Never went away, until I started my Lyme meds, a few months ago.
I am taking Fluconazole 200 mg only one tablet each week for yeast infection under my thumb nail. Is there any benefits to taking CoQ10 along with it?
The colored spots will fade in about a fortnight, as each day passes the color can change as the the blood pigment gets broken down. If you have a nail fungal infection (onychomycosis) the nail may appear thickened, brittle and dull, with no luster or shine. The dark color is caused by debris building up under your nail. Nail fungus can be difficult to treat, and repeated infections are common.
40 YO, M, I’m used to getting fungal irritation on my inner thighs after going the beach, I usually apply Lamisil cream once and it goes away, I also had a toe nail fungus a few years ago, I treated it with Lamisil tablets for three month, it took care of it very well. On the ninth of Jun 2008 I was prescribed Norflaxacin for possible post ureteroscopy infection/pain. On the 17/Jul/08 I had my very first –supposed- penile yeast infection (last sexual intercourse around 25-Jun-08?
I heard that your period is supposed to clear up a yeast infection, is this true?? also, does anyone know if penicillin causes yeast infections?? I thought I read that it did, because it is a yeast itself and disrupts the balance. I'm just finishing up a week's worth of penicillin and have noticed an extreme dryness.
so i went to the doctor and she told me that i have a yeast infection...o she perscribed the FLUCONAZOLE pill...and i took it but its still scratching me.........what should i do?

Microorganisms, including yeast and bacteria, also can infect nails. Knowing the cause of your nail infection helps determine the best course of treatment. A nail fungal infection may begin as a white or yellow spot under the tip of your fingernail or toenail. As the nail fungus spreads deeper into your nail, it may cause your nail to discolor, thicken and develop crumbling edges. Over-the-counter antifungal nail creams and ointments are available, but they are not very effective.
most women with recurrent yeast can take fluconazole (Diflucan) once a week and completely prevent symptomatic infections. If this hasn't been tried, you should discuss it with your ObG provider. Such preventive treatment appears to be safe and usually remains effective months or even years on end." So, if yogurt, or lactobacillus has helped someone in the past with yeast, it is probably coincidental to whatever other treatments they were also using.

5 fever all week, but no infection anywhere. Been sleeping and sweating excessively on and off. Haven't felt dizzy for a while, but the same old sides are lingering every day. Up and down. On wall, off wall. The headaches have been quite bad some days. But then again I have been able to sit up longer than usual, make food now and then and not been scared to fall over when getting up. Still careful in the shower though. Itching all over, but able to tame it with my shea butter coconut oil mix.
I went to the doctor and he prescibed me Nystatin cream with Triamcinolone and Fluconazole 150mg single tablet assuming it was a fungus. It helped for a couple of weeks, but the itching came back. I have tried every natural topical remedy on the internet, taken various supplements and changed my diet, still nothing works. My girlfriend also says everytime we have sex she gets a yeast infection, which also leads me to believe it is a type of yeast/fungus.
white with a dark band at the tip. The rest look like they have started to turn white near the base and there is only a little evidence of a dark band beginning near the tip. Toe nails look half and half: white and red. It seems that since I have stopped drinking they have not worsened and possibly gotten a little better. For several months I had bleeding from my belly button. No other symptoms. No swelling of the abdomon. No spider angioma.
for about 5 years now I have had a rash type ring worm that when treated with RX like fluconazole it goes away, then about two weeks later comes back. I have seen about three deramtologist and all have given me a different answer. Answers ranging from a toe nail fungus that when i put my underwear on I bring it from toes to groin (ridiculous) or something like a gluten allergy wich I have no other symptoms of. Topical creams dont work at all and this stuff is usually in the groin and arm pit.
My mom and I both got athletes foot once and a toe nail infection. She did nothing and had to have her nail cut off. I took mega doses of Zinc and my fungal infection went away. You might want to try taking some minerals... just a thought.
On the 17/Jul/08 I had my very first –supposed- penile yeast infection, saw a GP, he looked at it and prescribed one tablet of fluconazole 150 and Lotrisone cream for 14 days, it cleared it well.. On the 11/Sep/09 I was prescribed Ciprofloxacin for another infection, during which I developed what seemed like slight thrush on the middle of my tongue (still have it, didn’t get any worst).
Finally, some patients have doctors who have diagnosed a yeast infection in the gut, which cause the smell which comes out through the sinuses or breath, and prescribed Fluconazole 150mg. This looks somewhat promising, but Fluconazole must be administered by a doctor at any rate. Here is the Medhelp thread for that: http://www.medhelp.org/posts/Respiratory-Disorders/Bad-smell-coming-from-noseFound-a-Cure-Yayyyy/show/520721 http://www.medhelp.
He agreed after seeing my thumbnail that i had a fungal infection, but didn't give it a name, and gave me fluconazole one pill a week for 4 weeks. First pill made my urine incredibly foamy so i think we hit the nail on the head. It seems to be gone so i went in somewhere else for a physical. This doctor couldn't find anything wrong from checking me over physically.
I've been taking Terbinafine tablets and applying terbinafine cream, and it's been slowly improving. But I think the rash has spread to my fingers. The area between my fingers and near my nails is very dry and crusty, sometimes giving off a transparent liquid. There are small bumps on my fingers as well, and there's a constant urge to itch. Its been there for the past 3 days.
I’m 40, hetero. Male, with HSV 1 & 2, last outbreak: May 06. On the 15th Jul 08 I had my first penile yeast infection, was given one fluconazole & Lotrisone cream (14D), went away well. 14th August 08 I had some dizziness & dry long coughs, went away in few days. On the 20th August 08 I had unprotected receptive oral sex w/ a female, ejaculated in her mouth, she was lactating, her breast milk may have come in contact with both my tongue and penis.
I came back from holiday and visited my Doc who in turn suggested it may be Thrush and so gave me 4No. Azithromycin and 1No. Fluconazole tablets to take immediately on the 12th Nov. This initially relieved the pressure that was building up, but it returned again in a slightly different disguise. The Doc now thinks it's a UTI or swollen Prostate (he did a rectum check) and a blood test is scheduled this Friday.
Thank God I don't have thrush of the mouth though, no mouth sores! But anyway, fluconazole also takes care of fungal infection of the mouth (thrush) intestines, nails, skin, stomach, lungs and urinary tract. So perfect for any tx related fungal infections.
Hello for a long time i had skin problems, but mostly on my scalp, like strong flakes, some attached hard to my scalp and some even bleed a little when i remove them with my nails. and about 2 years ago i started getting this dry areas on my body to the point where i have a lot covered now. but for some reason its only from my belly up. when i take showers i can not rub the dry skin parts hard because after the shower it would itch like crazy.
I'm using Miconazole Nitrate 2% antifungal cream that the doctor recommended on my face, neck, sides, back of my neck, and everywhere else it spread to twice a day. I'm also using Fluconazole 150mg one tablet every week. I will be taking the third tablet this thursday coming. After two weeks of this treatment it hardly seems to be getting better. The two major dark spots on my forehead have dried out and are not raised anymore but the rash is all over my face and neck. It still itches.
I wonder if the Fluconazole is the key here, I have been taking that medicine because of a fungus in one of my toe nails and it´s really working well, but about a month ago I notice a 1 mm white pimple around the tip of the glande of my penis, no irritation, no pain and I have not had umprotected sex at all. I´m leaning towards the use of this medicine being the main factor in this problem, If anyone can share or give us more information about this matter will be fantastic.
How long should I wait to test again? What type of test should I request to ensure accuracy? Is an index of 0.95 for HSV 2 at two weeks post incident a good indicator that I will be positive later? What does this number really mean to me considering it is the first time I have ever had results that were not negative? Just curios if I am putting the nail in the coffin too soon or if there is any peace, you can give me that this number means very little at this point.
