Then, another small hole will eat through the nail. I'll end up with ridge after ridge on my nail. My thumb nail will start growing to the side, because of the weight of the high ridges. I'll need to keep the ridges filed down, level with my original nail, so I don't have so much pull on it. That "pull" hurts terribly. I feel no pain when I keep the ridges filed down. This was ongoing for a few years. Never went away, until I started my Lyme meds, a few months ago.
I am taking Fluconazole 200 mg only one tablet each week for yeast infection under my thumb nail. Is there any benefits to taking CoQ10 along with it?
40 YO, M, I’m used to getting fungal irritation on my inner thighs after going the beach, I usually apply Lamisil cream once and it goes away, I also had a toe nail fungus a few years ago, I treated it with Lamisil tablets for three month, it took care of it very well. On the ninth of Jun 2008 I was prescribed Norflaxacin for possible post ureteroscopy infection/pain. On the 17/Jul/08 I had my very first –supposed- penile yeast infection (last sexual intercourse around 25-Jun-08?
About 2 months ago I had this terrible itchy feeling in and outside my vagina that I thought was a yeast infection. I couldn't get into the doctor right away so I took Monistat 3. For some reason I didn't use the 3rd night but felt fine after a few days and my symptoms were gone for a few weeks. Then it came back, just much less severe but won't go away. There is hardly any discomfort on the outside only a tiny bit of burning every once and while.
A nail fungal infection may begin as a white or yellow spot under the tip of your fingernail or toenail. As the nail fungus spreads deeper into your nail, it may cause your nail to discolor, thicken and develop crumbling edges. Over-the-counter antifungal nail creams and ointments are available, but they are not very effective. Oral medications may be prescribed by your doctor such as itraconazole, fluconazole or terbinafine.

If you have a nail fungal infection (onychomycosis) the nail may appear thickened, brittle and dull, with no luster or shine. The dark color is caused by debris building up under your nail. Nail fungus can be difficult to treat, and repeated infections are common. Over-the-counter antifungal nail creams and ointments are available, but they aren't very effective. You will require prescription anti-fungal medications like Itraconazole (Sporanox) or Fluconazole (Diflucan). ref: http://www.
5 fever all week, but no infection anywhere. Been sleeping and sweating excessively on and off. Haven't felt dizzy for a while, but the same old sides are lingering every day. Up and down. On wall, off wall. The headaches have been quite bad some days. But then again I have been able to sit up longer than usual, make food now and then and not been scared to fall over when getting up. Still careful in the shower though. Itching all over, but able to tame it with my shea butter coconut oil mix.
On the 17/Jul/08 I had my very first –supposed- penile yeast infection, saw a GP, he looked at it and prescribed one tablet of fluconazole 150 and Lotrisone cream for 14 days, it cleared it well.. On the 11/Sep/09 I was prescribed Ciprofloxacin for another infection, during which I developed what seemed like slight thrush on the middle of my tongue (still have it, didn’t get any worst).
for about 5 years now I have had a rash type ring worm that when treated with RX like fluconazole it goes away, then about two weeks later comes back. I have seen about three deramtologist and all have given me a different answer. Answers ranging from a toe nail fungus that when i put my underwear on I bring it from toes to groin (ridiculous) or something like a gluten allergy wich I have no other symptoms of. Topical creams dont work at all and this stuff is usually in the groin and arm pit.
Finally, some patients have doctors who have diagnosed a yeast infection in the gut, which cause the smell which comes out through the sinuses or breath, and prescribed Fluconazole 150mg. This looks somewhat promising, but Fluconazole must be administered by a doctor at any rate. Here is the Medhelp thread for that: http://www.medhelp.org/posts/Respiratory-Disorders/Bad-smell-coming-from-noseFound-a-Cure-Yayyyy/show/520721 http://www.medhelp.
I’m 40, hetero. Male, with HSV 1 & 2, last outbreak: May 06. On the 15th Jul 08 I had my first penile yeast infection, was given one fluconazole & Lotrisone cream (14D), went away well. 14th August 08 I had some dizziness & dry long coughs, went away in few days. On the 20th August 08 I had unprotected receptive oral sex w/ a female, ejaculated in her mouth, she was lactating, her breast milk may have come in contact with both my tongue and penis.
Perhaps because I naturally have a low white blood cell count it’s normal for me to have a white tongue and areas milky white in my mouth and at the back of my throat but I’d never seen this before and there was definitely an increase in fungal production at the back of my throat. August 2 I took a Fluconazole tablet. When I removed the spot of thrush on August 4 it came back the next day. When I removed it again on August 6 it didn’t return – at last Fluconazole was having some effect.
He agreed after seeing my thumbnail that i had a fungal infection, but didn't give it a name, and gave me fluconazole one pill a week for 4 weeks. First pill made my urine incredibly foamy so i think we hit the nail on the head. It seems to be gone so i went in somewhere else for a physical. This doctor couldn't find anything wrong from checking me over physically.
I came back from holiday and visited my Doc who in turn suggested it may be Thrush and so gave me 4No. Azithromycin and 1No. Fluconazole tablets to take immediately on the 12th Nov. This initially relieved the pressure that was building up, but it returned again in a slightly different disguise. The Doc now thinks it's a UTI or swollen Prostate (he did a rectum check) and a blood test is scheduled this Friday.
I'm using Miconazole Nitrate 2% antifungal cream that the doctor recommended on my face, neck, sides, back of my neck, and everywhere else it spread to twice a day. I'm also using Fluconazole 150mg one tablet every week. I will be taking the third tablet this thursday coming. After two weeks of this treatment it hardly seems to be getting better. The two major dark spots on my forehead have dried out and are not raised anymore but the rash is all over my face and neck. It still itches.
How long should I wait to test again? What type of test should I request to ensure accuracy? Is an index of 0.95 for HSV 2 at two weeks post incident a good indicator that I will be positive later? What does this number really mean to me considering it is the first time I have ever had results that were not negative? Just curios if I am putting the nail in the coffin too soon or if there is any peace, you can give me that this number means very little at this point.

HSV-2 is typically a genital infection. Importantly, persons with this infection can be asymptomatically shedding the virus, and therefore be at risk for transmission to sex partners, about 10% of the time, even without lesions or symptoms. This asymptomatic shedding accounts for most transmission of herpes to others. Risk of transmission can be reduced by regular and proper condom use and chronic suppressive therapy with an antiviral medication such as acyclovir or valacyclovir.
Just wanted to say that my treating hepatologist prescribed fluconazole (deflucan) for candida and nail fungus. She said that it does NOT interfere with tx. But it can elevate the liver enzymes, and she is keeping an extra eye on them. I have takenthe time release 1 xweek tablets for some months now and no elevation in my liver enzymes so far.
i dont know i guess it could be burningish . im pretty sure i do have a yeast infection as i almost always do due to being on constant antibiotics, but i dont know what would have caused these symptoms all of a sudden. ive also noticed two paper cut looking cuts that are very sore on the lips of my vagina. they almost look like the shape of a nail so im not sure would have caused those. i am so worried about a possible std.
I was on terbinafine (generic lamisil) orally, 250 mg, for five months to clear up nail fungal infection on my left foot after showering at the house of someone with it. Which it did. My fingers got WORSE, not better, while on a long-term systemic antifungal although I do not attribute it as the culprit for the worsening.
I had 15x20 vision in both eyes before this infection and usually pretty white- since the infection I've seen deep red veins in my eyes, blurred vision and pain behind the eyes. Was diagnosed as dry-eye as well. I have experienced thrush-like symptoms in my throat as well. Corners of mouth have felt tight when I open my mouth all the way, since day 1 of infection and never left.
Nystatin is an antifungal agent for mouth thrush and is typically the only medication used when children are diagnosed. Adults also have pills like fluconazole (Diflucan) and anti fungal throat lozenges called troches. Using this medication, the thrush should clear up in about 1 to 2 weeks. Skin and diaper rashes are treated with Clotrimazole lotions and creams and also clear up in 1 to 2 weeks with treatment.
You mention a bacterial infection... I do have a very small infection on one of my fingertips. It's not bad but it's not getting better either. Could this be making me feel tired and weak?
I have had an orange tongue since October. Initially my doctor thought it was a fungal infection, however the symptoms did not subside after being treated with an anti-fungal medication. Then I was sent to an Ear, Nose, Throat Specialist. He did not have any answers either. He suggested that I use a tongue scraper and he prescribed an antimicrobial rinse. He said it's just something that I have to learn to live with. I still have an orange tongue though.
I'm guessing this is some sort of Yeast infection. I used to work with Vet's and when a dog came in with an ear infection that was caused by yeast it had a distinct odor. This does too. Not too strong, just there... I've been reletively itch free for a few days now. Or maybe I just don't notice it. I'm hoping that I can get some ear wax to start developing again. I'm afraid to stick a Q tip in there to check just in case I start the whole thing all over again.
