I found out a rash on parts of my chest and abdomen is tinea versicolor (spelling?). The dermatologist prescribed Ketoconazole cream. Anyone know if that is safe to use with Lyme Disease.? I looked online but found only mentions of the pill.
He said to me that is it not a dermatophytosis but eczema. The rash was spreading very fast, he tried to give me oral fluconazole (Triflucan 200) during 2 weeks. The result was very good : more than half of my rash was cured. Itching had disappeared. The rash stopped to extend. The effect had begun at day 13-14 and until 6 weeks after the end of the treatement. After, they gave me itraconazole 200 (Sporanox) during 1 week and it worked very well.
I have been treated with Nystatin, Ketoconazole, Clotrimazole, Clotimazole and Betamethasone Dipropionate, fluconazole and itraconazole, one at a time over many months.
The red inflamed area has still not gone but is not painful anymore..
I have seen an internest, a dermatologist and an infectious disease specialist.
Any suggestions?
Hi doctor,i got this jock itch last year, first i tried tropical oitment like clotrimazole and miconazole but dint help. Then a doctor friend of mine suggested me fluconazole tabs once a week, after taking and applying oitment, it was cured but again came back after 10 days. Then i tried itraconazole 200mg a day for a month as suggested by another friend. It cured my itch but again came back after 10 days .

I was prescribed 2% Ketoconazole cream by the dermatologist and I applied the cream for 8-10 weeks. The less toxic and more effective triazole compounds fluconazole and itraconazole have largely replaced ketoconazole for internal use. Ketoconazole is best absorbed at highly acidic levels, so antacids or other causes of decreased stomach acid levels will lower the drug's absorption when taken orally. Absorption can be increased by taking it with an acidic beverage, such as cola.

I then went to my doctor and he prescribed me ketoconazole shampoo,ketoconazole tablets, and ketoconazole cream. I have been on these meds for 3 days with symptoms not clearing up at all, almost getting worse, the balanitis is now not only on the head of my penis and foreskin, but on the top of my penis too. Im on my last leg here. Any suggestions . PLEASE.
It spread rapidly from my torso to my arms and legs, and my neck. I went to see a doctor, who prescribed Fluconazole (150mg, 1 capsule a week for 4 weeks). After a few days the lesions on my stomach began to fade, so I felt I was getting better. I have just taken my third Fluconazole pill. The bad news is that although some parts of my body are definitely better, new ringworm has appeared on my face in the last few days.
What should I do? I'm hoping to see the doctor again soon.
I am not entirely sure of the cause, but from the research I've seen one person said her liver enzymes were off, so you might want to consider getting a liver panel done-I personally would think that you would be jaundice, your skin color and whites of your eyes will look yellow if these were off but the other person didn't mention this being the case with her. But jaundice(even if not seen does in fact cause itching but it is generally body wide not localized to one area).
I am 9 wks pregnant is it safe to take the fluconazole 200 mg to treat my yeast infection? It is only one pill but I am still unsure if it is safe...please help?
He prescribed me fluconazole 150mg for three days and a ketoconazole cream to use for two weeks. The jock itch has gone away but the balanitis has majorly improved but I still get red rashes on it (no bumbs) throughout the day and it seems to worsen when I do not use the cream. I am uncircumcised and was STD tested but I do not think they checked for herpes. The girl I was with swears up and down she is clean. It does not itch, hurt to pee, or any pain at all.
Factors such as cutting out sugar, it feast on sugar, is important. Treatment usually includes antimycotics or antifungal drugs such as nystatin, fluconazole, or ketoconazole. Ask your doctor to check you for candida and see if it is the culprit.
ketoconazole, fluconazole, itraconazole, terbinafine ( I have tried these 4 drugs in oral and topical form) I have also tried selsun shampoo and all of these have failed. I was wondering if there was anymore hope for me? Is there anymore antifungal pill I can take? Due to my rash not responding well to 3 azole antifungals does this mean it won't respond to any of the other azole antifungals? And are there anyother antifungal that are effective that arnt azole?

ve tried months of applying 2% Ketoconazole cream, 14 day regimen of 200mg Fluconazole, Lotrimin AF, applying yogurt, acidopholous, garlic extract, and cranberry juice. What has worked for you? I'm at the end of my rope: the infection has returned three times in the past 13 months since I accidentally contracted it through sex. My dermatologist and doctors never seem to have any answers besides "continue treatment with so and so".
The Ketoconazole and Naftin treatment was not effective. The doctor then prescribed Fluconazole 125 mg pills, one per day for ten days. This was not effective either, so I will be going back in. I'm not sure what is going on here. It should be cured by now.
I do not itch, no burn, I feel nothing, first took fluconazole and clotrimazole, and not said anything for 1 week. I am now going bacitracin + neomycin and I buy a metronidazole ... I certainly do not get into sex and got after using a simulated oral sex that I was not very clean ...

My doctor said it was a fungal infection in the head and so subscribed me with some shampoo (ketoconazole) and some fluconazole tablets as well as some antifungal cream.
I have been using all medicines for around 2 months or so now.
At first I had a patch at the back of my head (in the middle) this now has hair growing in, really tiny, thin hairs. There is one on the side of my head which has no hairs and another near the front on the top of my head.
If I use anti fungal powders, the itching decreases. I have visited doctors multiple times, but the medicines- FLuconazole and Miconazole based creams and tablets have not given me any relief. I tried Betnovet-M, but it gives relief for a very short period. Clotrimazole based powders relive the itching but not the clotrimazole based creams. I have tried not using soaps, but it did not help.

over the last few months, my medic tried ketoconazole (for months), nystatin (2 full 10 day courses), and gentian violet (for about 4-5 days) - with no results... which led to this point.
then i tried 100mg daily for 10 days of fluconazole, the symptoms started to rapidly fade, then slowly taper to near non-existence toward the 10th day.
then i moved to itraconazole, it looks like 400-500mg daily for 10 days.

- Hormones and lotions: Diprolen gel (14 days) and a cutane solution of adrenal hormones (interval treatment 6 weeks; according to pharmacist this solution was the strongest available (prescription).
Has anyone ever taken fluconazole? It's a tablet you take (only one) for yeast infection. My pharmacist said it's not for pregnant women but when I called the doc and told him what the pharmacist said he said it was ok to take. Has anyone else been prescribed this? I'm worried.
