Common Questions and Answers about Fluconazole ketoconazole

diflucan

Fluconazole (Diflucan) Itraconazole (Sporanox) Miconazole (Zeasorb) Terbinafine (Lamisil) Nystatin (Nystop) They are used for fungal infections and are in my experience pretty good at what they do. I would not think there is a clash with having Lyme and taking and an '-azole' medication, but your Lyme doc *and* the doc who prescribed the -azole meds should both be aware that you are on it just so everybody's on the same page.
It spread rapidly from my torso to my arms and legs, and my neck. I went to see a doctor, who prescribed Fluconazole (150mg, 1 capsule a week for 4 weeks). After a few days the lesions on my stomach began to fade, so I felt I was getting better. I have just taken my third Fluconazole pill. The bad news is that although some parts of my body are definitely better, new ringworm has appeared on my face in the last few days. What should I do? I'm hoping to see the doctor again soon.

Hello, There are many oral antifungal drugs like itraconazole, fluconazole, ketoconazole and terbinafine. However they have many side effects and should be taken after topical antifungals do not work. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your dermatologist. I sincerely hope that helps.
In clinical settings, candidiasis is commonly treated with antimycotics—the antifungal drugs commonly used to treat candidiasis are topical clotrimazole, topical nystatin, fluconazole, and topical ketoconazole. The less toxic and more effective triazole compounds fluconazole and itraconazole have largely replaced ketoconazole for internal use. Ketoconazole is best absorbed at highly acidic levels, so antacids or other causes of decreased stomach acid levels will lower the drug's absorption when taken orally. Absorption can be increased by taking it with an acidic beverage, such as cola.
He said to me that is it not a dermatophytosis but eczema. The rash was spreading very fast, he tried to give me oral fluconazole (Triflucan 200) during 2 weeks. The result was very good : more than half of my rash was cured. Itching had disappeared. The rash stopped to extend. The effect had begun at day 13-14 and until 6 weeks after the end of the treatement. After, they gave me itraconazole 200 (Sporanox) during 1 week and it worked very well.

I have been prescribed a treatment of one pill of fluconazole 150 mg and 2 pills of tinidazole 1g each. Didn't work, then I tried a treatment of vaginal ovules for 7 days of clyndamicin and ketoconazole, didnt work either...I've been doing research and this sounds like Bacterial Vaginosis, I've had yeast infections before and the discharge is much thicker and it itches more.
I am not entirely sure of the cause, but from the research I've seen one person said her liver enzymes were off, so you might want to consider getting a liver panel done-I personally would think that you would be jaundice, your skin color and whites of your eyes will look yellow if these were off but the other person didn't mention this being the case with her. But jaundice(even if not seen does in fact cause itching but it is generally body wide not localized to one area).
over the last few months, my medic tried ketoconazole (for months), nystatin (2 full 10 day courses), and gentian violet (for about 4-5 days) - with no results... which led to this point. then i tried 100mg daily for 10 days of fluconazole, the symptoms started to rapidly fade, then slowly taper to near non-existence toward the 10th day. then i moved to itraconazole, it looks like 400-500mg daily for 10 days.
It was at this time that my small case of thrush became a full blown monster. Since then, I have been on ketoconazole 3x, I am currently finishing my 3rd cycle that has lasted nearly 1 month. I have gone through 2x 10day nystatin suspension every 4-6 hours (while on ketoconazole). I started taking acidophillus pills, garlic pills, apple cider vinegar pills, rinsing with organic apple cider vinegar. I take a probiotic mint twice each day after brushing my teeth.
Bathing twice weekly with Malaseb shampoo may have to be continued 5 or 6 weeks past the resolution of skin symptoms and should be continued monthly thereafter, to achieve long term control. Anti-fungal medication, such as Ketoconazole, or Fluconazole may be given for a month, or so, with the anti-allergy medication, Atopica can be used in conjunction with ketoconazole for additional help, if your dog does have atopy.
now the spots are on the other side of the head of my penis more or less red patches rather than spots. I have tried ketoconazole cream and it does nothing. Through out the year i have had more skin problems than combined in my entire life including seborrheic dermatitis, athletes foot which i dont know if any of this pertains but it seems that things are continuously going wrong with my skin ever since the initial problem.
ketoconazole, fluconazole, itraconazole, terbinafine ( I have tried these 4 drugs in oral and topical form) I have also tried selsun shampoo and all of these have failed. I was wondering if there was anymore hope for me? Is there anymore antifungal pill I can take? Due to my rash not responding well to 3 azole antifungals does this mean it won't respond to any of the other azole antifungals? And are there anyother antifungal that are effective that arnt azole? When I got diagnosed with a yeast infection in February of last year, I was prescribed 2% Ketoconazole cream by the dermatologist that I applied for 8-10 weeks. When I stopped applying the cream, I had no symptoms whatsoever for 6 months (it was beautiful, I was finally normal!). It might be important to note that these 6 months were Spring through Fall.
