What is the correct dosage of fluconazole used to treat a case of Valley fever in dogs?
These bad odors might smell rotten or burned and they tend to occur only in one nostril. In my case, the unpleasant smells started when I sniffed, blew my nose, sneezed or laughed. However they can also manifest for no obvious reason. This disorder progresses over time, but you will probably NOT notice that unpleasant odor directly after you wake up (at least at first). When these smells first appeared, I got temporary relief by pinching on my nose and holding my breath.
I recommend stopping the nizoral immediately in both cats. Although it is useful in dogs, in cats it is too hard on the liver, especially in kittens. Since you are seeing blood in the vomit and his stool, medications to reduce GI ulceration may be helpful, but since he cannot keep down oral medications and will quickly become dehydrated, I recommend taking him to an emergency clinic tonight for fluids and injectable medications, and labwork to evaluate his liver.
Fluconazole is another anti-fungal that is effective for ringworm and is safer in cats than Terbinafine. It will have to be used for at least a month. Usual dose is 50mg per cat per day. All oral anti-fungals are dangerous in cats if they have liver disease, since anti-fungal medication is metabolised in the liver. Since the ringworm is so severe, topical ointment medication, bathing with an anti-fungal shampoo 2 X per week and the oral Fluconazole may be necessary.
Although less common than in dogs, yeast dermatitis can occur in cats, especially in Persian cats or cats with underlying internal disease. Clinical signs: Symptoms include localized, multifocal or generalized hairloss, red skin, and yellow crusting or scaling. The skin and fur may be greasy. In chronic cases the skin becomes dark, thickened and "elephant-like". Most animals are very itchy, and there is often an unpleasant body odor.
Malassezia pachydermatis is a yeast that is commonly found on the skin of most dogs and cats in low numbers. It is found anywhere on the skin, lip or other skin folds, vagina, anal glands, ear canal, and rectum. Malassezia skin yeast is usually kept at very low numbers by the immune system.
he took a second set of cultures and decided to treat empirically with fluconazole for ringworm, just in case it is. I have also been putting topical clomitrazole on it for over a week. No response. I tried putting coconut oil and topical hydrocortisone cream on it which seems to help with the inflammation but I have no idea what to do since I don't have a diagnosis...!!
like with food, i dont sneeze a lot (have friends who have this kind of alergies, that every morning waking up they sneeze for like 20 minutes) i have had dogs and cats in the past so no alleriges there. but maybe its something related. for a while i tought it was psiorosis but i will wait for a dermatologist to tell me what's going on and i will post here. sorry for the messed up english but its my second language and still learning.
It is a fungal spore that is picked up or breathed in from the environment. It is much more common in dogs, but cats can obviously be infected as well. Good luck!
Canned pumpkin mixed with dry kibble can help with a dog who is used to canned food and canned pumpkin in a kkong and put in the freezer makes a fun frozen treat for a pup. In the meantime see if you can find in the pharmacy dept of like a Walmart or try CVS etc. for Domeboro. They are powder packets and used in humans for poison ivy so look in that area but in dogs you can use it to dry they ear and change the ph making it harder for yeast to grow.
This would be the new vet. I have 2 vets I take my cats to in case I need a second opinion. I even have a book called "Raising Cats Naturally" by Michelle Bernard, which teaches how to properly raise a carnivore in terms of proper nutrition. I do not deviate from the information contained in the book I swear. Everything she says, I do. In fact, I may even post something about it...just as a FYI. Good book!! If it isn't ringworm....could it be the new Lysol product I bought recently?
I don't think I can handle getting him in a box to take to a vet. I live in a country where cats are regarded as vermin and there isn't a cat charity to ask for help. I looked it up on the internet, and I think he might have a fungal growth there that would require an expensive veterinary medication protocol that I can't afford even if I could somehow get him to a vet. Is there anything I could give him to help? Could I mix a human anit-fungal pill into his food?
I shave my pubic hair and that area is all just red rash and welts if I rub lightly to relieve the itch. How long before this fluconazole actually works?? The 1% hydrocortisone cream in clotrimaderm isn't working at all. In fact, I'm wondering if it isn't the culprit since the rashes started after beginning the pills and this cream. The vagisil still takes care of the itch for about an hour at a time but it burns now when I put it on.
I am 30 years old in good health, and I have a question. About 3 weeks ago I came down with the flu. It lasted for about 2 days but when it was done, I had lost about 10 pounds and was left with constant diarreah and a nausea feeling usually when lying down.I went to the doctor and he prescribed for me Trimethobenzamide for the nausea, told me that he thought that I had a gastro infection, and he took some blood test.
Other times I get this massive rush that starts in my legs races through my body and basically finishes with what feels like an explosion in my head. I am left with major headaches when this occurs. Now apart from the motility disorder and the candida they cannot find any cause for these attacks. So they have come to the conclusion that the Candida causing the release of Mast cells that are attacking my CNS causing these attacks. They have no idea why I have candida.
The PCP reccomends sinus surgery , but the hep specialist wants to delay anythining that wont kill me. I concur! I will plod along with antibiotics in one hand and the Fluconazole in the other. I asked the Dr today about the blurred vision of the past 2 months and he did not seem to concerned. As I sit here trying to read wht I have typed, I cannot as it is blurry. He did ask me if I had gone to an eye Dr and I told him I had assumed it was hep Rx related. Yes, I ASSumed.
The technique in this manual involves bending over in a hot shower. Obviously, if you bend over in a shower, there is a slight possibility that you can get dizzy and fall down. You could possibly hit your head, get knocked out, or break something. It’s a tiny risk, greater if you are older, overweight, obese, or have reduced blood flow in your neck arteries, but it’s a risk you must assume if you want get rid of an otherwise untreatable sinus infection.
If he gets worse he will be referred. Honestly, I have never in my life seen this before. I have seen ringworm in dogs and cats but never owned a cat that somehow got this disease. So, to me, everything I see is concerning. At first, his lesions looked like ringworm, but now it just looks like nothing I’ve ever seen before. The cat is, of course, not happy about this and is very uncomfortable. He is still eating and acting normal.
So you might want to dilute the apple cider vinegar or peroxide with an equal amount of water at first then gradually make it stronger. Try wetting a cotton ball with some apple cider vinegar and sticking in his ear, not down in his ear though, you don't want it to get stuck. You could even trick him to do this. If your dog is like mine he loves to be petted and have his ears rubbed.
-24yrs old, W/F, fiance of 1 1/2 years, no other partner, truly -cats, but always had cats my whole life, no prob in past -major stressful job -4 negative herpes tests -typically hurt after sex.
On Monday and Tuesday, several people commented on the state of my eyes, especially the right one, which seemed to be in a worse condition. My eyelids were dry and painful to touch, especially in the corner and it was continuously weeping, until yesterday afternoon when it seemed to heal up to the point where it looked sore, but no longer felt it. And then today- my awful eyes are worse than ever. While my actual eyes are fine, my eyelids are large, puffy and as per usual- RED.
I have been on 40 mg omeprazole QAM for 4 and a half weeks and 300 mg ranitidine Qhs. I have no relief of my symptoms. Esophagus feels as something is stuck in it much of the time with sharp pains and burning in chest, arms and back much of the day as well. It doesn't matter if my stomach is empty or I have eaten. Symptoms are the same and I am getting very little if any relief from the meds. Is there anything that can help or am I in trouble? I am very worried.
my eye doctor told me it was due to mild allergies and prescribed eye drops which didnt help in the least so i turned to over the counter allergy medicine which hasn't helped either (so i dont think it's allergies) and in the last 3 weeks not only are my eyelids itchy but when i wake up in the morning my upper eye lids are bright red and swelled up so bad that its embarassing!!!!
Then at night, whatever side I lay on clogs shut. In the morning there is thick crusty crud that again I try not to pick at. Im obviously in continual circle of symptoms here. Dr's seem to think I cause this problem by itching which causes infection which causes itchiness. HELP please? I am open to homeopathic suggestions as mainstream medicine just seems to temporarily relieve the symptoms and not cure the cause.
Well it looks like a trip to the Dr is in order here. At least I have something to walk in with somewhere to start...not just wasting money and all...lol... Well, I'll post what I find out, hopefully this will work!
Hi, I have just diagonized with GERD only but negative to H.Poly bacteria. I have to tried variety of medicines (including homeo) for GERD but nothing works. Usually I don't blurp a lot. But there is lot of pain (not pain exactly but sort of strange feeling on the upper part of the stomach and doctors say this is common due to GERD) But I must say that I felt a lot better with had the candida related drug (Called Threelac bought from US). Usually I feel worse during the winter.
In May I began to have dizzy spells which coincided with a sore throat and earache, which cleared up on their own. However, dizziness and fatigue continued for several weeks. The dizziness resembled being carsick, with lightheadedness and occasional moments of nausea and feeling faint (but I never passed out). I had a CAT scan and blood work twice, and so far no diagnosis for the dizziness/fatigue.
I did use KY Silky at one point in time. I have a cyst on my labia. I have cats and someone told me that cats can give people a skin disorder I forgot what it is called but it comes from their feces(gross) I guess you get it when changing cat litter. I give them advantage and I thought that maybe touching that stuff could cause something. I am getting these cracks on the top of my hands.
that I can see, unless I give in and scratch. I take cranberry supplements to keep me flushed out for a UTI, which I was treated for last year. My doctor is unsupportive, and unhelpful-told me was due to regrowth from not getting waxed. I just want some facts to arm myself with before trying the doc (new doc) office again. Any suggestions?? All you cooch experts feel free to speculate.
Some of the weird parts are that the shakiness seems to be seasonal - coming in spring and lasting thru summer and its miserable like a tingling pins and needles sensation thru out my body. I have also been getting what some doctors seem to diagnose as recurring sinus infections- like 10 a year- i take anti biotics and i feel slightly better until the next infection but i still have the other symtoms while I am on the medication. I have hay fever and allergies to mold dust...
