How long does the yeast infection medicine fluconazole take to take affect? I took it wednesday and still having the white discharge and smell?
As long as you are not pregnant, there will not be any adverse effects. I only mention pregnancy, because it was prescribed by an OBGYN. Fluconazole is generally not safe in pregnancy unless in a severe emergency.
But Propranolol and Fluconazole taken together will not interact with each other.
How is it by now? It seems like you didn't give the fluconazole very long to do its job. I think it is said to take up to a couple of weeks to have full effect.

Anyone ever take fluconazole 150mg oral pill for a yeast infection in their first trimester. I phoned a pharmacist and he said it was fine and all the research I've done says as long as it's not in high doses the baby should be ok, but I am having some major anxiety.

Since December my nurse has put me on a 6 month course whereby I take a Fluconazole 150 pill once a week. Im now halfway through this course and am seeing no improvements, how lomg does this treatment usually take to work?? And how effective is it?
I am confident that what I have is thrush as an internal examination was done and that was all that was found. My symptoms are mild, mainly itching, no discharge. But after a year I just want to be healthy again!
I thought that I had read someplace that fluconazole is thought to increase the elimination half-life of certain drugs that are correlated with an increase in qt interval (i.e. so called long qt drugs). I dont believe it is currently identified as a long qt drug itself; it just doesn't mix well long qt drugs. I didn't know that it was capable of causing or worsening V-tach on its own, but I guess it does not surprise me.

Apparently I can consistently getting yeast infections due to hormonam imbalance. I'm afraid to overdose on the fluconazole. Is there a natural way of getting rid of it? I'm thinking cranberry juice but should I drink it once in a while or is there another alternative. Because I have to avoid sugar in order to fix my hormonal imbalance.
I have been diagnosed with oral thrush. I wont get much into the details on how i got it but it was through a sexual encounter. So It has been around 3-4 weeks and I still having symptoms. First I was taking Nystatin then my Doctor prescribed me Fluconazole. While I was taking this medications I felt like it was only preventing it from getting worse and not actually addressing the root cause. Just a couple days ago I stopped taking Fluconazole and my tongue and lips again started to get swollen.

I was then prescribed Nystatin oral suspension (3 bottles) and using it helped, but it did not completely clear the thrush. I went to my GP and he then prescribed Fluconazole tablets for me (50mg for 22 days). This has not cleared the thrush either.
Up till now, my thrush is still not cleared (since november 2010). I am afraid that it might have become very resistant to medication. Could you please advise me on what to do? Are there any other medications that I can take?

So, four months ago I thought I had the classic symptoms of a YI. Went to the dr and she took a culture and at the same time gave me a 150mg of Fluconazole. I took the pill and felt better, a week later found out my culture for yeast came back negative. I was still feeling irritated and raw externally especially during and after sex.
I still wasn't getting better so I went to the dr two weeks ago and she did a culture to check me for EVERYTHING.
I have a red and itchy vagina and I have some white discharge that smells yeast-y. I also have bumps that are fleshed colored and appear to be under the skin. These symptoms have been occurring for some time now and I've been tested for std's and they turned out negative. And my pap smears came up normal. I'm currently being treated with fluconazole (oral). Do I have an infection or disease? How do I get rid of these bumps? Are they related to a yeast infection?
