Then again I tried itraconazole 100mg twice for a month, i was cured within 10 days. But again this recurrent jock itch keeps on coming back. I am tried of taking itraconazole and applying oitment, i even wear loose cotton undergarments and change it everyday. I keep the area clean and dry. I am imagining that his ongoing jock itch somehow spread through intercourse and gave me jock itch and introduced it into my vagina and beyond. Hi doctor,I have jock itch type fungus for last one year, tried fluconazole but it again came back...then tried itraconazole 200 mg a day with topical clotrimazole, it completely dissappered, but after 15 days it came back. Did this course thrice but it comes back every time. Tried terbinafine also but dint work much.
The rash that showed up in his groin looked more like jock itch rash. He has been getting this itch for about 4-5 years on and off but never had any rash, not even a single red bump before. He prescribed me fluconazole 150mg for three days and a ketoconazole cream to use for two weeks. The jock itch has gone away but the balanitis has majorly improved but I still get red rashes on it (no bumbs) throughout the day and it seems to worsen when I do not use the cream. Well my dermatologist is convinced its Candida (genital yeast infection), but the general practitioner I recently saw thought it could be jock itch, which is a separate yeast all together. At the moment I'm using Lotrimin Anti-fungal cream, which seems to help alleviate symptoms, and would hypothetically treat jock itch if I have it.

i searched on internet and found it to be jock itch.i put some baby powder for some days and then neosporin for few more days.then after two weeks i went to a doctor who said it was fungal infection.he wrote t.curis i guess it meant the same as jock itch.he told me to take the medcine levocetrizine tablet of 3 or 5mg(i forgot) for 1 week avery night after dinner,terbinafine tablet Terbest 250 for for weeks after every meal and the ketoconazole cream ketanol.

- Debating between taking Fluconazole 150 MG once a week for three weeks or Lamisil 250 MG everyday for one week to cure current infections.
- Wearing full sleeve sweatshirt so as to not spread infection.
I'll start on the Fluconazole/Lamisil medication today, I might go with Fluconazole as it has worked for me and will be cheaper than Lamisil, and is about as effective but takes a little longer.
Please let me know what you think of this.
You don't need the higher strength for jock itch/athlete's foot that you do for us gals when we get vaginitis.
It's not likely you are having a non-stop herpes ob. If you want to know if you have herpes, get yourself a type specific herpes igg blood test. Even if you do test + for hsv2 , that doesn't mean that you don't also have a whopper of a fungal infection going on too.

Can you get HIV if you have sexual intercourse with someone who might have HIV through Jock itch. I went to the doctor a week later and all STD test came back negative as well as HIV.
I have had the same problem for quite some time. I'll use lotrimun powder spray and baby powder every morning and evening after washing, it does the trick. But during the summer when sweating is inevitable, the jock itch will return. I haven't found a permanate cure for my case, but you'll find the "jock itch" powder spray + baby powder can keep it dry for quite come time. Try it.

But in recent years it has become more and more painful and varying degrres of treatment have been used trying to clear it up.
The rash had a well-defined outline and a pink center. After doing some research, I figured I would try a jock itch cream. I used Lotrimin (clotrimazole) for about a weak - which seemed to work - but the tube ran out. The next day, the rash came back. Now, it's just red with no defined edges. It's not really itchy, and I probably wouldn't have even noticed it had it not been for the oral sex.
t know how to treat it. I assumed it was jock itch or whatever it is called because I researched it.
