1519601 tn?1298475950 My OBGYN put me on FLUCONAZOLE for a yeast infection its 100 MG im suppose to take 1 pill once a day... i cant remember if i already took one today or not.. so i went ahead and took another...i was just woundering if that was okay??
Avatar f tn For sure. Cats are at least 10 times smaller than a SMALL adult human female. What is given to us is too much for such a small animal. For example: The amount of Zyrtec I was told to give to Akira is only 1/4 of the adult human dosage. This is much smaller than the children's dosage, which is 1/2 of the adult human dosage. I would never ever give medications to Akira without her first seeing her doctor. I do know that no one should ever give Tylenol to their pets.
Avatar f tn Has anyone ever taken fluconazole? It's a tablet you take (only one) for yeast infection. My pharmacist said it's not for pregnant women but when I called the doc and told him what the pharmacist said he said it was ok to take. Has anyone else been prescribed this? I'm worried.
Avatar f tn my dr gave me fluconazole for my infection ,3 pills in 3 days .should we skip or take it regular.because she told me take it wednesday ,thursday ,and sunday,,thank..
Avatar m tn The amount of time for which fluconazole stays in the system depends on the dosage. It also varies with the body systems. On average it will be active in the body for about a week. Hence consult your dermatologist and get the fungal culture repeated only when he /she advises. Hope that this information helps and hope that you get better soon. Wishing you good health.
Avatar n tn So my doc prescribe me fluconazole for a yeast infection I'm currently 30wks pregnant, when I picked it up it had 2 little packets in it with one pill each and doc says to take 1 a day but as I'm reading the instructions it says 1pill clears everything and you only need a 1time dosage. Do I take both pills or just one why would he prescribe me 2 if directions clearly state 1? Any ladies ever had to take for yeast infection while preggo what did your doc prescribe?
Avatar n tn I am almost absolutely sure Frontline is the same ingredients for dogs and cats, and the only different thing would be the dosage for the size of the dog or cat. (Not all flea treatments are, but I think Frontline is) Please do call your vet and verify this though.
1474611 tn?1416632958 Another thing to consider is making sure the dosage was correct. Often they are weight dosed, even for cats, which also are kitten vs. adult cat dosed. If the dosage was too much, that could have caused irritation. Lastly, if the medication was a "cheap" product like Hertz and similar...these products often have other ingredients that tend to be irritants. Also, they often aren't that effective (from what I've seen from clients who have tried them).
Avatar f tn I was then prescribed Nystatin oral suspension (3 bottles) and using it helped, but it did not completely clear the thrush. I went to my GP and he then prescribed Fluconazole tablets for me (50mg for 22 days). This has not cleared the thrush either. Up till now, my thrush is still not cleared (since november 2010). I am afraid that it might have become very resistant to medication. Could you please advise me on what to do? Are there any other medications that I can take?
611067 tn?1458591483 My mother's cat, Roxy, sneezes a lot! She's done it the whole time we've had her (a little over 4 years). But, lately, she will sneeze and sneeze like 5 times in a row. The poor little girl! We tease and say "she's allergic to cats!" But, seriously, is their medication for cats with allergies?
Avatar n tn Hi jjackson, you can give some people meds like tums to cats but antibiotics need to be prescribed from the vet only because the dosage and type of infections cats get are different from the types we get and it can be lethal to give people meds to cats especially a pregnant one. The antibiotic you mention is in the tetracycline family and can cause birth defects in humans so do not give it to your cat, take her to the vet.
Avatar n tn ve been doing much research online and just seem to find much higher dosages of these drugs being dispensed for cats with similar problems. My vet seems to be afraid of liver toxicity. My understanding is that if that should happen it would be a distant event and the cat may not have long to go.
Avatar f tn I have cats & kittens with coccidia. I keep treating with Albon & they keep getting re-infected. My vet is unfamoiliar with Ponazuril, so if you can tell me what dosage you use on your cats & kittens, I will be very grateful. Thank you for your time.
926651 tn?1244140366 incorrect dosage (often associated with a prescription change) accounts for half of these unexpected changes.
Avatar f tn You can't just randomly put different medicines from your medicine cabinet on the cats. Cats will lick off whatever is put on them. It's probably poisonous to them. And, do not give them prednisone that was prescribed for you. You have no idea how to dose a cat according to body weight. Really, your best bet is a rescue group. Do some research online. I'm sure there's something out there that's a reasonable distance from you.
Avatar n tn what is the half life of oxycodone in cats? I've heard it works well for pain in cats. I'm trying to get more information on what may help my 12 year old cat. I'd like to have my questions in order before I pay my/her vet?
899700 tn?1241892861 Some vial resellers suggest that the Frontline Plus product works for both cats and dogs providing the right dosage is used. I have the original packaging for the last supply of Frontline for both animals which had the single dose applicators. The active ingredients listed on the front of the packaging on both boxes provide different amounts for the (S)-methoprene ingredient; 11.8% for cats and 8.8% for dogs from 23-44 lbs.
Avatar f tn Pemphigus foliaceus is an autoimmune disease typically treated with steroids to get it under control and then a less strident topical or oral medication to keep the development of new blisters in check and prevent existing ones from becoming infected. Atopica is intended for in dogs with atopic dermatitis, so I don't know how this would be helpful to your cat and could be harmful since I don't think there have been any studies does regarding it's safety for cats.
Avatar m tn Anyone ever take fluconazole 150mg oral pill for a yeast infection in their first trimester. I phoned a pharmacist and he said it was fine and all the research I've done says as long as it's not in high doses the baby should be ok, but I am having some major anxiety.
Avatar f tn s lasted around 4 months in genital area, tested for STDs all negative. Doctor unsure as no obvious rash, prescribed 4 weeks of fluconazole to see if it is a fungal infection, 50mg every morning for 4 weeks. Now the itching is still present 3 weeks in, would you expect the itching to have subsided by now? I'm unsure how this drug works. Also I seemed to develop a small red rash whilst on these tablets that comes and goes?
Avatar f tn Sure, it is safe to take. I personally like the one day Monostat ovules for yeast infections but fluconazole works really great. Hope it clears it up quickly!
996946 tn?1503249112 see what is known for cats and ask through one of the on line vet assistants - they'll help. If I had this problem again with a cat, I'd administer only 2 drops of the oregano tea AFTER I researched a lot of options. Good luck.
Avatar f tn I've taken Clindamycin and fluconazole to kill a yeast infection. But now my doctor tells me I might possibly get it back because antibiotics can cause yeast infections. I'm not even sure...
