Avatar n tn It is not killing probiotic cultures in your bowels. And 6 weeks is not really longterm, especially since fluconazole is not an antibiotic, but an antifungal. Reduce your meat and sugar intake to aid the meds to kill it off. Good luck!

If you don’t have liver disease and your liver is just irritated then I say good luck and I hope you can always enjoy a drink every now and again but over the next three months sobriety is best. The health of your liver is far too important.
Avatar m tn My sonograms show fatty liver and my liver enzymes are all normal. I have always had ple or white nails for at least 20 years as far as I remember. Although I bite my nails so I m not sure if it's proper "Terry" nails since they are short. Although from the pics I see online it looks like even well trimmed nails would still show that pink bnd at the tip. It was more visible on the big toes since I let those grow out a few times, but after I clip them the band is gone.
Avatar n tn I have a red and itchy vagina and I have some white discharge that smells yeast-y. I also have bumps that are fleshed colored and appear to be under the skin. These symptoms have been occurring for some time now and I've been tested for std's and they turned out negative. And my pap smears came up normal. I'm currently being treated with fluconazole (oral). Do I have an infection or disease? How do I get rid of these bumps? Are they related to a yeast infection?
Avatar f tn I work out 4 times a week so i sweat a lot. But 4 months ago, it started itching down there especially around my perianal area! When i got concerned i check my perianal area and saw that the skin are lighter than normal. I've used miconazole thinking it might be a jock itch but nothing happened. Then i read something about tropical hydrocortisone and still nothing happened so then i decided to see a gynecologist.

Avatar f tn Has anyone ever taken fluconazole? It's a tablet you take (only one) for yeast infection. My pharmacist said it's not for pregnant women but when I called the doc and told him what the pharmacist said he said it was ok to take. Has anyone else been prescribed this? I'm worried.
Avatar f tn Fluconazole is an antifungal and one pill stays in the blood stream for 3 days. It is normal to take a 'loading dose' the first time which helps get a jump start on the infection. I would take it as the doctor directed. Hope this helps.
483814 tn?1214311480 I have a fungus on one toenail and did not treat it because of my liver. Those drugs are hard on the liver and kidneys. Avatar m tn A month ago I self diagnosed and treated a yeast infection based on my previous yeast infection (diagnosed by a doctor a few years ago). I treated with Monistat (miconazole)cream, which mostly cleared up my symptoms. I still felt somewhat irritated down there so I went to the doctor. She took a swab sample that came back negative for yeast/bacteria/gonorrhea/chlamydia.I felt fine for 2 weeks, then felt intense burning during intercourse . A few days after that, the itch was back.

Avatar n tn I have been treated with Nystatin, Ketoconazole, Clotrimazole, Clotimazole and Betamethasone Dipropionate, fluconazole and itraconazole, one at a time over many months. Avatar f tn I am really trying to see if my sister's condition has anything to do with her being given this shot. Last time she was given it was April 2013, she is currently in the hospital fighting for her life!! So with all the warnings about if you have a liver disease you shouldn't be taking this shot and the doctors are advising her liver isn't functioning and for it to be as far gone as it is, if she had come to hospital a year ago they wouldn't have been able to do anything!!

Avatar f tn I was going thru a bottle of vodka every 2 to 3 days. I started having discomfort in the liver area with nausea fatigue and dry mouth. Had an lft done all normal. Still felt sick and went to the hospital lft normal except elevated bilirubin ultrasound normal. Had another lft couple of weeks after bilrubin down to 1.3. And another normal ultrasound. 1714226 tn?1308625105 Hi, my name is Patty and I am 29 years old. To say that liver disease runs in my family would be a huge understatement, for my grandmother, aunt, and my father have all died of cirrhosis of the liver. Neither of the 3 were alcoholics either. Since the age of 18, I have had routine checkups and blood work, keeping a close eye on my liver function and health. In January of 2010, I was diagnosed with gallbladder disease and had surgery to remove it.
