Fluconazole and liver

Common Questions and Answers about Fluconazole and liver

diflucan

Avatar n tn It is not killing probiotic cultures in your bowels. And 6 weeks is not really longterm, especially since fluconazole is not an antibiotic, but an antifungal. Candida is a mean one, and hard to get rid of. But Candida hates a balanced diet with lots of beans, veggies, wholemeal, yoghurt and fruits. Reduce your meat and sugar intake to aid the meds to kill it off. Good luck!
Avatar f tn Hello and hope you are doing well. There are no known interactions between fluconazole and propranolol, so you can safely take them together. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn Has anyone ever taken fluconazole? It's a tablet you take (only one) for yeast infection. My pharmacist said it's not for pregnant women but when I called the doc and told him what the pharmacist said he said it was ok to take. Has anyone else been prescribed this? I'm worried.
Avatar f tn Fluconazole is an antifungal and one pill stays in the blood stream for 3 days. It is normal to take a 'loading dose' the first time which helps get a jump start on the infection. I would take it as the doctor directed. Hope this helps.
Avatar m tn A month ago I self diagnosed and treated a yeast infection based on my previous yeast infection (diagnosed by a doctor a few years ago). I treated with Monistat (miconazole)cream, which mostly cleared up my symptoms. I still felt somewhat irritated down there so I went to the doctor. She took a swab sample that came back negative for yeast/bacteria/gonorrhea/chlamydia.I felt fine for 2 weeks, then felt intense burning during intercourse . A few days after that, the itch was back.
553516 tn?1255867219 Patients who take these medications (regularly or daily) should undergo monthly laboratory testing for the first three months of therapy and then every three to six months because of the association between these medications and liver disease.
Avatar f tn Apparently I can consistently getting yeast infections due to hormonam imbalance. I'm afraid to overdose on the fluconazole. Is there a natural way of getting rid of it? I'm thinking cranberry juice but should I drink it once in a while or is there another alternative. Because I have to avoid sugar in order to fix my hormonal imbalance.
Avatar m tn Just over two weeks after my last treatment I paid the online sti clinic in London to do mycoplasma, trichomonas, hsv and ureaplasma tests and these were also negative as was a uti test but my inflammation remains. 1. I have read a lot online and wonder if it is worth me trying the two known nsu treatments which I have not had...doxycycline for one week or one dose of fluconazole in case it is thrush? 2. Is there any infection that could survive the above that doxy would kill?
Avatar f tn I am not entirely sure of the cause, but from the research I've seen one person said her liver enzymes were off, so you might want to consider getting a liver panel done-I personally would think that you would be jaundice, your skin color and whites of your eyes will look yellow if these were off but the other person didn't mention this being the case with her. But jaundice(even if not seen does in fact cause itching but it is generally body wide not localized to one area).
483814 tn?1214311480 I have a fungus on one toenail and did not treat it because of my liver. Those drugs are hard on the liver and kidneys. The odd thing is, since starting tx the fungus is clearing up. Who knew? Now I can't resist this one as silly as it may be--you ready? There's a fungus among us!
Avatar m tn I have had rashes and dark skin on and around scrotum and inner thigh for last 5-6 years. In the beginning rashes and small cuts used to appear between inner thighs and they would heal themselves but they left dark and loose skin when they disappeared. But for last 2-3 months these rashes and cuts started appearing again in ferocious way and these have extended on testicle skins too. When they appear it itches too much results in small cuts with small blood. i m very depressed.
Avatar f tn I am 9 wks pregnant is it safe to take the fluconazole 200 mg to treat my yeast infection? It is only one pill but I am still unsure if it is safe...please help?
Avatar m tn oh and the doctor gave me medicine for thrush anyway (two 100 mg fluconazole pills one to take that day and one for 2 days later) and it didnt go away so it must not be thrush
Avatar f tn Eat a healthy and well balanced diet with fresh fruit and vegetables. Kidneys and liver contain a lot of iron. Keep off or cut down on junk food, fizzy drinks and processed and refined foods like chocolates, cakes, biscuits, etc. Let me know how you get on when you have seen your doctor. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
Avatar f tn ve followed his right instructions and I have even changed my diet, avoiding sugars and flour, and eating tons of garlic, and yet it always reappears after two weeks. I've been avoiding tight clothing as well and only using cotton; I make sure I dry it well, and yet nothing works. I am desperate. I don't want to keep taking antifungals because I'm afraid I may compromise my liver or something else but I also want to get rid of this before it spreads.
Avatar n tn it is quite possible you have yeast in your sinus and lungs..and even your intestines...I am currently taking Fluconazole 150mg for candida ...ask your physician about lung and sinus yeast infection and see what he says.
Avatar m tn Anyone ever take fluconazole 150mg oral pill for a yeast infection in their first trimester. I phoned a pharmacist and he said it was fine and all the research I've done says as long as it's not in high doses the baby should be ok, but I am having some major anxiety.
Avatar f tn Was anyone prescribe this by their doctor them made it to the Pharmacy and was told you couldn't take it bc you're pregnant ??
Avatar f tn I've taken Clindamycin and fluconazole to kill a yeast infection. But now my doctor tells me I might possibly get it back because antibiotics can cause yeast infections. I'm not even sure...
926651 tn?1244140366 I have been on Coumadin for most of the last two years following two episodes of clots in my right leg. My INR varied between 1.8 and 2.4 and most often was between 2.0 and 2.2. In those two years may other medications, my diet, and level of exercise remained mostly the same. My Coumadin dose was 5mg four days a week and 7.5mg three days a week for most of the two years. Now my INR has suddenly jumped up. Yesterday it tested at 4.9, so my doctor had me retested today and it was 4.3.
Avatar f tn Based off the symptoms I was having they told me that I had a yeast infection-(I had one about three months ago). They prescribed me fluconazole. I took it and felt better, but went back into my gynecologist for a follow up on Thursday(my symptoms were almost completely gone at this point.) They took a swab and said it the results said no it wasn’t a yeast infection, but she said yes she was sure I had had one. I took she told me to take the second dose of fluconazole, which I did that day.
