Flonase warnings

Common Questions and Answers about Flonase warnings

flovent

It began with a cold and I thought it was sinus, then allergy so I took claritan D and Flonase. And this did not help. Had ct scan (normal). I am now taking antibiotic because doctor says it could be infection because I am congested. For pain = Butalb Acetamin-Caff 50-325-40. Which I have not taken yet. Also, Doctor indicated that it could be migraines. Nothing is helping and I am frustrated. Can anyone help?
I get occasional sore throat (usually on just one side), dry and scratchy mouth, ear aches, watery eyes, crunchy eyes, stuffy nose, etc. Allergies can come and go without warning, or there may be something new in your environment that's triggering them. My allergies went away almost completely for about 4 years but they're back now. You might want to talk to your doc about allergy meds. I take Flonase daily and it's helped a lot.
My way of thinking - since Synthroid is replacing something my body would make naturally if I had a thyroid, the warnings on the sinus medication about thyroid medications might have more to do with the possibility of raising my blood pressure or causing the thyroid to produce more (or less?) hormone than necessary which could cause problems. Sorry I don't have a real answer for you, only my experience. If you are really unsure, give your pharmacist a call.
All this was followed by about ten bouts of intense vertigo, in which I felt that I were suddenly being flipped upside down or twirled around--no warnings. Often I fell down, and it usually produced nausea, cold sweats, and intense vometing. Later, I noticed dripping sounds in my left ear, which started after I completed ten days of Penicillin. The vertigo lasted about three hours per episode.
Every fall he develops what seems a cold and the cough starts and never ends until the following summer. He has been put on cingular, zyrtec, flonase, and ilbuteral for everyday use. He also is on regular steriods. The ENT, the pulmologist, his ped not one can tell us why he coughs so much. Its a dry cough that is constant. He does retract and vomit due to the spells. We went to the ER last night and they told us he has croup and gave him a steriod and sent him home.
Even during the daytime, I sometimes pretend like I'm sleeping on someone's shoulder. I've tried flonase and nasonex and they rarely provide me with actual results. Even when it does provide me relief, I don't know if its due to me leaning or if it is the medication! The other thing I do is I use the generic equivalent of afrin. It works amazingly well, but there is a warning that you're not supposed to take it for more than 3 days in a row.
I have put on oil paint very heavy in warn dry conditions and it starts to evaporate quite quickly. But cool and/or moist air, and it can take forever. Thus proving to a degree that warm and or dry air is drying your sinus before it ends up running out. Because too rain cleans allergens from the air it is better not worse. Well except for mold allergies for mold grows with wet air. But even that takes time. A wet spring will bring more mold spore in summer. I could be wrong.
05 albuterol solution (every 4 hours regardless of symptoms), flonase (2x a day), zyrtec (1xs a day), epipen x4 for emergency purposes (he did tell me if I use the epipen I MUST go to the hospital by ambulance) when all my meds fail, as well as predinisone (90mgs with no reduction for 15 days). Intitially it worked for a couple of months, but I gained an incrediable amount of weight and then I began to get worse.
no post-nasal drip or congestion). Antihistamines - both OTC and prescription - haven't touched it, nor has a course of antibiotics, a trial dose of Trazadone gave me a panic attack, and the expense nose-spray isn't doing anything.
I have used the Nedipot sinus flush/irrigation and don't think it helps much. I have also seen on network news warnings about some deadly infection that can be gotten using this type device but one can protect against this by using boiled, pure, distilled water. Do not use water straight from the tap... I had been doing that. I still get a drowning feeling while the flush is running through my sinus.
I've been dizzy most days for the past 5 weeks. At first I thought it was GI releated, as it seemed to coincide with stomach bug. I just had a gallbladder exam today and will have upper endoscopy tomorrow. But I don't think these are the causes. Let me tell you when this all began. Second week in February I noticed I sometimes felt a little dizzy. It was a "lighheaded" feeling like I had a few beers or like I was on a boat. It would come and go.
Finally got to see my regular doc and they said my eustachian tube was probably blocked and told me to take regular Claritin and Flonase for 2 weeks. It has been over 2 weeks and I'm still experiencing the dizziness, although not as bad, but still notice it when moving around, not when I'm sitting still. The regular doc doesn't seem to know and I've asked to be referred to an ENT.
yes i didnt think nasonex was good - should they not warn people that it can do that the nose? the sterimar has no chemicals and so i feel this is good and it hydrates my nose - sometimes in morning i feel heating in house dries nose up the patch has gone in my nose which is great - does that mean infection has gone or the nose is hydrated normally now? i have a slight cut at the end of my nostril and could this be from nasonex and nasal sprays and constant blowing?
I have Sjogren's symptoms and was recently diagnosed with Relapsing Polychondritis. I'm currently taking Celebrex, Evoxac, Flonase, Lexapro, Nexium, and Prednisone when I'm in a flare. I also use Ultram occassionally for my pain. Is it OK to wait until my appointment in 2 1/2 weeks to mention this to my doctor? Should I call my doctor now and if so, which one as I have a GP I occassionally see, a Rheumy, and an ENT.
Are there any other options for him after prednisone is tried? He is miserable!! He also takes singulair, flonase, zyrtec, flovent and albuterol nebs, inhaler and liquid.
so I did that for about a week and a half then I suddenly felt another annoying feeling on the back of my tongue so I looked at my tongue in the mirror and saw a couple of bumps right on the very back of my tongue so I went back to the doctors and he said the bumps are a side effect from the Augmentin so he gave me a prescription for Nystatin oral solution and Flonase nasal spray, but I am still having troubles with my the mucus in my throat, the bumps on the back of my tongue, and moderate s

I also have hypothyroidism and take Synthroid(21 yrs.)and am also asthmatic and use Flovent and Flonase. I had a normal physical in Sept. with blood work. My TSH was in the normal slightly high range but the dosage was not adjusted (.125) I have noticed no weakness slight fatigue but nothing out of the norm (twins plus one and work full time). I have to say like many of these posts I am very anxious that this might be something like ALS or MS.
headaches, and in the last 3 weeks nonstop headaches which presented without the aura as a warning. She seems to be getting the mirgraines every two weeks or so, andsometimes they seem to cluster. This time she was also diagnosed for strep 5 days in, (which evidences itself as headache and nausea - same symptoms as her migraines when she has them) - and after two rounds of antibiotics, we assume the strep is gone, but the headache continues.
Have found LARGE doses of prednisone help greatly (methylprednisolone, less so), but also cause side effects. Am currently taking Astelin and Rynatan as a steady regimen and Flonase semi-regularly. I am at my wit's end....any other ideas?
She said that I will not have total relief until a month from now. She wanted to warn me that this will not get better over night. She said that if I don't respond to this treatment, she's going to relook at asthma and refer me to a speech therapist to help me learn how to relax my vocal cords. The one thing that she adivse me to do is relax when I cough so that I do not tense up and my cords spasm and shut off my breathing.
The pressure around my ears he suggested was just eustachian tube dysfunction, and nothing serious to worry about. He suggested I try Flonase, cause environmental factors sometimes cause these problems. But it reaaly didnt help. During this period I also had a physical examination, and my primary care physician gave me a clean bill of health. I was then sent to a neurologist, who a asked me alot of questions and did a physical exam.
In the past, stopping the medications was never an option. Although I did suggest it to the last two doctors, I was warned that if I did NOT take the meds as instructed, I could find another doctor. Thanks, again. Regards, Nanci --------------- Good luck on the 25th, Jena.....keep us posted!
I thought I was having residual side effects from my Flonase - but it happened a few more times. It is my warning signal that an infection is brewing and I know that until the smell goes away, I still have it. Also, prior to an asthma attack I get an itch deep inside my right lung and along my right side at the waist. It's nice to know that we are not crazy and that others experience similar symptoms.
I am not alone! I too have this, it is so draining. the benadryl only makes me sleep so that is used as a last resort. Some days it is all day. I too have wondered is it due to weather, I live in the tropics and think it is the moist air, the change in pollen content or weather ( sudden downpours cloudy days brilliant sun) as well as the various molds and spiders we have. I don't think it is an allergy as much as just a very sensitive nose.
What I have remembered after reading about TMJ on this forum, my dentist told me last October when I went for a scaling that my teeth are warned out at the back! Dentist then asked me if I grind my teeth during sleep, I said I dont think so. He said it shouldnt be a problem, though I'm thinking back to myself is this TMJ? which has been causing all my symptoms? I do have tightness/stiff neck feeling for at least a month now. Let me know what you think.
TIAs usually present with loss of vision in an eye or in one field of vision, weakness or loss of sensation or clumsiness on one side of the body, or inability to speak properly. These signs could be warning signs for a stroke and shouldbe evaluated promptly.
