flovent

for sore throat, aches and couch/congestion. They diagnosed me with step throat, then called me a few days later to say the test came back negative. I finished the Z Pac they prescribed me, but was still sick with soar throat congestion, weezing and a cough. I went back to the Dr. for a second time, and they diagnosed me with allergies. They gave me Allegra, Flonaise, and a round of steroids. I finished the steroids and am taking what they gave me.
got flu shot on Dec 4, 2013 been sick ever since, started feelling little under the weather, then coughing with crazy unheard amounts of green mucus came up with the cough, lasted for almost a month, then my throat so sore it was almost making me cry, sore throat and ear pain mostly on right side, the pain was feeling like it went from throat to jawbone and jawbone made teeth feel very sore, looked like strings of green pus in very back of throat, pus also in the folds of my tonsils on the side
Then on tuesday my ear started crackling and felt like there might have been fluid in it. This morning(thursday), I woke up with a sore throat (post nasal drip). I have been getting sinus infections about every other month. My ENT told me that I should be on flonase all of the time, but my nose has been so dry, that when I blow it, there is a little bit of blood in the tissue. I have no allergies, but my nasal passageways seem to be inflamed. I havent taken the flonase in over a month now.
I have been taking the medicine (<span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>flonase</span>) for a month now but still have a sore throat on and off. He never swabbed my throat either. What could this be? The sore throat is there one day and the next day it's gone. The back of my throat is really red and looks swollen. Could this be a bacterial infection or something from giving oral? Thanks in advance!
I went to a new doctor, who told me that this was likely allergies (related to the new neighborhood or new apartment) and prescribed me <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>flonase</span>. I've been on <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>flonase</span> for about a week with no change. The sore throat and post-nasal drip are persistent and very painful. This has been going on for almost 3 months now, and I'm a grad student that really can't afford to be sick. If anyone could shed some light on what this might be, I'd really appreciate it!
I have not been feeling well for last 10-12 weeks. Specifically, started with a constant sore throat. Visited first Doctor who diagnosed me with Acute Respiratory infection as he said my throat was very red. I was put on antibiotics (Amoxycillin) for 10 days. Started to feel better but within a week the sore throat came back and I saw another Doctor who did not see a throat infection but thought lungs sounded a bit off so put me on antibiotics (Doxycycline?).
I notice that the ingredient that in <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>flonase</span> is the same (fluticasone propionate) as is found in Flovent.. It occurs to me that flonase might even work better because more of the stream of fluticasone propionate would hit the back of my throat and be swallowed, getting more to my esophagus and less to my mouth. The key point though is I can get flonase inexpensively, whereas the flovent is more than I can easily afford.
She mentioned 'cobblestoning' in my throat and said my ears were sore from sneezing. She prescribed me <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>flonase</span> and told me to take over the counter claritin. I've been on flonase for about a week with no change. The sore throat and post-nasal drip are persistent and very painful. It particularly worse in the morning, and I have been taking advil for the pain. This has been going on for so long, and I'm a grad student that really can't afford to be sick.
Hi Dr's, I've posted previously regarding protected vaginal sex and cunninlingus event that took place July 30th. Unfortunately I have had a sore throat that started two days later and has continued to this day. The pain is mild with swolleness near lymph nodes in neck. Following an article that I read this evening that is titled "Cervical cancer virus fuels oral cancer type, too" and the subsequent descriptions have escalated my concerns.
An estimated 20% to 60% of patients with GERD have atypical symptoms in the throat (hoarseness, sore throat) without any significant heartburn. A failure to diagnose and treat GERD may lead to persistent throat conditions such as chronic laryngitis, hoarseness, difficulty in speaking, sore throat, cough, constant throat clearing, and granulomas (soft, pink bumps) on the vocal cords." http://www.medhelp.
I did test for HIV and STD's at 4 weeks which was negative which I recall reading that 90% would seroconvert by that time. My sore throat started two days after performing cunnilingus, does the sore throat that has continued for so long change your opinion? ENT took a general swab and nothing grew, she said she would be able to see an HPV Cancer in throat but did not elaborate at all and she seemed uncomfortable discussing it. How long does it typically take for cancer to develop?
I'm a 23 year old male and I've had a chronic sore throat for over 5 months now. It's driving me out of my mind.. Please help me where my other Doctors have not.. I've been tested for allergies and I've had a few allergies to trees indiginous to my location. But upon use of Clarinex, Allegra, Zyrtec, etc. I received no relief. I had a Barium swallow which showed reflux.. I was treated with 40 mg Nexium, twice a day. This did not help.
I never had a dry scratchy throat last so long before, I read somewhere that a tumor in the throat can cause a mild sore throat. so now I'm thinking maybe it's not allergies how can I be sure?
I've been dealing with a persistent, mild sore throat for the last two months. 95% of the time it's a mild itch at the back of my throat that makes me feel like coughing, however over the course of the day I would get what I would describe as flare ups that produces a moderate burning pain that originates either in the larynx or trachea. I have no redness, my tonsils look fine, lymph nodes are good, no PND, no fever or any other symptoms whatsoever.
I also had pain with swallowing as if food was going over or around something in my throat. It wasn't a typical sore/red scratchy throat. It felt like something was pressing against the esophagus. No fever ever appeared. The doctor did a CAT scan and a scope and could not find anything except bumpy tissue on the back of my tongue and a small cyst that he felt was nothing. We watched this for 3 months. That was two weeks ago.
Even with the above mentioned measures, I produce quite a bit of phlegm, PND, I clear my throat constantly, and I have some throat pain (not like a sore throat, though.) What can I do to make this go away? Would Mucinex or antihistimes help?
//www.mayoclinic.com/health/chronic-sinusitis/DS00232 You should get a chest xray, CT scan of the sinuses done - do let us know the reports too. You should consult your doctor and start appropriate medications including antibiotics, nasal sprays, antihistamine medications and decongestants. You should try some steam inhalation, warm saline gargles and saline nasal drops to help with your symptoms till you see your doctor.
i dont believe that everyone in here could be suffering from allergies or sinus because if you have phlem in your throat but have a hard time clearing your throat then think about what you have ate or something that you are doing i have had my tonsils taken out and i have had a problem with stuff getting into my ears the sinuses all have but one pathway to drain and that it down the back of your throat thru the eustachian tube and your tonsils and adenoids make sure that everything is filtered b
We had his tonsils out in December and the throat clearing and noises stopped instantly. He then got sick and had a sore throat at the end of Feb and within a couple weeks started clearing his throat again and making noises when he eats (almost like a growling sound). This is not something he can control and I'm sure it is a tic behavior, but we have not been able to completely figure it out.
I been having a sore thoat for about a week and I been have the feeling that I have lumps in the back of my troat is that bad?
i had a white patch inside my nose and it wasnt sore - ive been using sterimar to try and increase the moisture in my nose as sometimes it seems dry in morning i have used nasal sprays in past - otrivine - beconase but decided to stop using them as sterimar is natural and kind enough for babies - so it hurts abit when i blow my nose on the side the sore it - the sore is on the inner side of my nose not outer is this going to heal ?
Not even a sore throat. And I do not smoke. A physician prescribed <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>flonase</span>, amoxicillin, and promethazine. I have been taking all three for the past 4 days with little or no improvement. I cannot figure out if the source of my problem is my sinuses or my throat, or something else. Any help would be appreciated.
I think this is because when I am it creates a severe retching which you can hear for miles! Leaves me with a terrible sore throat. Only been to the doctors approx 8 years ago where they diagnosed me with IBS. Never thought that was correct. This for me can be very frustrating.. but obviously for some people it can be severe enough to affect their quality of life. I hope there's some comfort in knowing that it seems more common than first thought.
It started with the overall malaise, fatigue, muscle soreness, stiff neck, and a tickle in my throat. Within the last three weeks I have progressed to having all those symptoms along with burning in my lungs, an ear ache, headaches, an irritated cough, Also I have had sores in my nose and mouth within the last three weeks. I cannot tell you how incredibly tired I am and the intensity of the pain in my neck and shoulders especially when I first wake up in the morning.
My throat at times feels really raw and sore at the back and I am always clearing my throat with a dry cough. I never get colds or the flu, maybe once every four to five years. I told my doctor and after checking me out she said it was allgeries and offered to prescribe me a throat spray..but I declined as I do not suffer from this all of the time. For me it is not unbearable.
I too woke up Christmas Eve with the Bridge of my nose being sore which moved also to the right side of my nose. By the 26th I could hardly touch it. It is red and swollen. I made an appointment with an ENT but cannot get in until Jan 3rd. Today the swelling seems to have gone down some. This is the most bizarre thing that has every happened to me. Should I go to another Doctor or is there something I could get in the meantime until I get there. It also feels like my nose is broke.
I too have suffered in the last 5 years from too much mucous in the throat. I am doing a good deal of research and I am now trying a holistic approach - Apple Cider Vinegar (must be unpasturized/raw/unfiltered/). The dosage is 2 tsp. before each meal or diluted with water and drank during the meal (you'd have to love vinegar to drink it during your meal - o-o-o-o-o no, not me). Anyway, I am giving it a try and will keep you all posted on how this works.
I'm a 21-year-old female who rarely smokes and drinks moderately (an average of 5 drinks per week). For the past year and a half, I've had an intermittent sore throat. Most of the time, it's very mild, but it does become painful every once in a while. I also developed thick green phlegm and occasional stuffy nose several months after my sore throat started. I now also have a stuffed feeling in my ears, a lump in the back of my throat feeling that comes and goes, and occasional jaw tightness.
Drinking plenty of fluids (hot water can be beneficial) and sucking sweets(candies, which prevents your throat and muscous from drying, can also help. i believe the sore throat is caused by the stuck muscous on your throat drying. If I look at my throat with a flashlight, I can see thin, frothy muscous running down my throat (I sometime feel like I got a piece of rope stuck on my throat), and when I spit it up, it is clear and frothy.
