464237 tn?1315670793 What a coincidence First week I used over the counter Flonase I caught a nasty cold. a few weeks later I used it again and caught another flu type illness. I just read these posts and have figured out that Flonase lowers the immune systems. Throwing this stuff out!
Avatar n tn Tough question. There are many reasons for post nasal drip and tinnitus. If your nose is still running, could it be sinusitis? Do notice any weird smells from your nose? Headaches? A chronic sinus infection will cause post nasal drip. But it could be that one month with Flonase isn't long enough to get your symptoms under control. I would say 2 months would be more reasonable to decide if there is something else. this type of therapy takes a while for things to set in.

Avatar f tn Anyone have experience with any over the counter depression medicine that works well?
Avatar n tn You can try over-the-counter medications like Claritin or Zyrtec. Steroid nasal sprays like Flonase are also helpful, but they require a prescription by a physician. If medical management fails, immunotherapy (allergy shots) might be required.
Avatar f tn I have a cold an taking no medicine is killing me. Is there Any over the counter meds I can take?
4371309 tn?1357956329 My Dr at Kaiser said that the OTC and the ones they prescribe are the same. I didn't argue with her since she has the degree and just bough some from the pharmacy. When ever your next visit is with your OB check with her/him.
5079728 tn?1365549989 So any medication that you can go in and buy without a prescription is considered an over the counter medication. This would include every single med lined up on the shelves ..... pain killers, cough meds, diarrhea meds, nausea meds, stomach meds, anti-itching meds, everything. If I recall correctly, you have cirrhosis, so you really do have to be careful not to take anything that the doctor does not approve first.
Avatar f tn An over the counter medication is any medication that can be purchased without a prescription "over the counter", but does not make the medication safer and needs to be taken according to the directions on the package and there is a need to be more vigilent and take into consideration individual health, the benefits versus the risks and potential interactions with any prescribed meidcations.
Avatar n tn But, I would like to know if there is an over the counter medicine. I only get the urgency after a little stress. It stops after 10 hours or so on it's own. But, a cheaper "as needed" OTC medicine would sure be something I am interested in.
765828 tn?1306263868 , there could be a serious reason why this is happening, i dont mean to scare you, it could be that you are constipated and pushing to much, but if the bowl is filled up, i would call your doctor right away, and this way, they can rule out different causes and hopefully get to the problem, i wouldnt take anything over the counter until i was seen by a doctor, good luck, let us know how you make out.
Avatar f tn yes yes, I am clean from Vicoden, Antidepresants but still am using a sleep aid, have been using over the counter meds for sleep since the 80's then went to prescription sleep aid and now I only sleep 3 or 4 hours using them. I am going to go off them soon. My Dr would like to see me wait until Jan just because I came off two meds this year and had surgery's but please don't go to prescription sleep aids I think it is harder to get off them than OCT.

Avatar m tn I've had an upper respiratory infection for about a week. Went to the doctor this morning with severe ear pain, no infection, just inflammation due to the other infection. Was recommended Flonase, rest, and fluids. After I came home and took the Flonase I've had this really weird fizzing sensation off and on at the back of my throat all day. It feels like a handful of poprocks are at the top of my throat/back of my mouth. It's a really weird suggestion.
612551 tn?1450022175 Thanks, none of the over the counter congestion medications I've used help at all .. and yes I've tried Flonase generic form and some other prescription nasal spry - too little help to be of value maybe no help. At first I thought the Flonase was helping after using for 10 days or so but if it did, it quit soon thereafter. As for the level of Coumadin/Warfarin, I get a coagulation blood test about every month and I am normally in range for an INR between 2 and 3.
Avatar n tn It feels where when the tube is like mine but you do it several times over and over. It clears the canal. You can also try an over the counter antihistamine or allergy pill like Claritin. I know this sounds crazy but this cleared my issue up that I suffered with for almost 3 years. Please try it and let me know what you think!
479419 tn?1208127685 hot shower, steam from boiling water, over the counter decongestion, wet warm towel over the head, humidifer, lots of water, leave window cracked in winter, clear dust, drink hot tea. I am pretty sure there are more but try those. Let me know how they go as I am struggling with the same thing.
Avatar n tn There shouldn't be any chemical reactions taking the two together. The combination will not give the methadone a boost or cause any kind of "high".
