Over the past 6-7 years, I've had FESS 4 times, including turbinate reduction and deviated septum correction the first time, and in-office microdebridement of polyps 4 times. Polyps always return. Nasal steriod sprays ineffective. Antifungal rinses ineffective. Daily saline nasal rinse ineffective. I prefer to avoid further surgeries since they treat the polyps instead of the underlying cause of the polyps. Only effective long term treatment has been prednisone.

gave me clyndimycin, nasal steroid and nasal saline spray, took all , still symptoms exist. in oct. 05 saw an ENT sent me for a BA swallow, it was normal, said he thinks it's my allergies, NO HELP. In nov. went to urg. care w/ pulled muscle, and pain in upper back, dr. said pulled muscle and plurisy, another chest x ray, said it looked good, gave me flexeril and decadron shot for plurisy, felt a lot better as far as back goes, but still have other symptoms, and upper back still has pain. dec.

Doc says CT clearly shows blockages in my left sinus in the cheekbone location, and he will treat that with nasal spray, Amox/Augmentin and prednisone...what I was prescribed by my reg doc but not in combination and not at this dosage. And he's doing 10 days instead of 7. But ENT doc says my lightheadedness may not be related to the sinus issues I have. That is not a sinus/allergy type issue he says. A little trick you can try for the allergic reaction is to ask your doctor for a steroid nasal spray like Flonase. Squirt a bit on the area you'll be placing the patch, let dry then apply the patch. Sorry to hear you're allergic to the adhesive on the fentanyl patch. Did you ever try spraying your skin with a cortisone-based nasal spray first? I've spoken to hospital nurses who tell me that usually takes care of it unless the allergy is severe. Spray on some Flonase or Nasacort; let it dry, then apply the patch. Their patients reported no difference in absorbtion rates so it may be worth a try for people with adhesive allergies.

About two weeks ago, I got sick, and it's the first time I had these coughing fits. It feels like you are choking, and sometimes even coughing violently doesn't help. It happens maybe 4-5 times a day, and when I saw some of the other posts people post here, I knew I wasn't alone with this problem.

I have tried ENT's, CAT's, nasal sprays, antibiotics, antacids, fiber cleansing, diet changes, allergy tests, etc. All of these traditional methods have not helped. I am thinking of trying vinegar. Let me know if this has worked for anyone and if so it what regard. Thanks. Good luck to all.

I take it one day at a time. I was sick to my stomach from my face hurting. None of the nasal sprays or meds helped me. The only thing that helped is Prednisone (steroid) which they only give you for a limited time because they are dangerous and your immune system can't find colds and other things when you're on it. So I felt normal for a week or so...and now I've been off of them for a week and getting back to feeling bad and the facial pain and pressure.

It sounds like the fentanyl patch isn't going to be a good fit for you. I can't understand why your doctor is so vehement about not using a cover (like tegaderm or other medical tape). it was soooooo bad that after aI saw my PCP he wanted to test it for CSF.....but I was givien a nasal spray and it cleared it up... Call the facility that did the testing and ask for copies of the report and the MRI's ....they will prepare a disk for u...going forward, ask when u sing in for the tests for the copies and u get the disk b4 u leave...reports get mailed.

Due to nissen, of course I no longer take meds for gerd (yea ! ) I have stopped any otc NSAIDS, etc in an attempt to help the problem. I have also been taking Konsyl packets to add some bulk to stools, no luck. One gastro that I saw gave me script for OPIUM TINCURE, what is this ????? I have been almost afraid to take it , the pharm at the store that filled it said that it is never prescribed that much anymore.
