Avatar m tn I have a esophagus condition and was told to take flonase and spray 2 shots in my mouth twice a day. Flonase is a steroid and it helps with the inflammation. I had difficulty swallowing to the point of choking and passing out and this has helped me tremendously.
Avatar n tn He put me on Nasonex, a steroid nasal spray, to reduce the inflammation. I also hear my heartbeat in my ear at times, and he's hoping that a month on Nasonex will stop that. If not, he'll do a CT scan and other work to see what's going on. Here's my question: Are any of you using something like Nasonex or Flonase? I do have a headache behind my eyes and feel tired a lot, but I had that before too.
Avatar m tn I have bee taking Beconase hayfever spray (a steroid nasal spray) for a month and began feeling the sensation of skipped heartbeats which tend to increase around my monthly cycle. I experienced them a few years ago, also at the time of taking the Beconase spray. It took several months after discontinuing the spray before they eventually disappeared. I am having the same symptoms this time.
Avatar f tn It depends on the type of nasal spray too. Saline and Flonase can be used every day. And if your doctor cleared you for those, that's fine. Try to avoid Afrin type nasal sprays, I cannot confirm if they are safe during pregnancy or not, but the issue with this type of spray is that you can only use it for a few days at a time.
464237 tn?1315670793 The pain went away within two hours yesterday after shots buit woke up this morning and pain is back as well as the post nasal drip. The doctor also prescribed me Flonase nasal spray for the infection but I read the info on it and it says do not take if you have an infection because it is a steroid and it lowers the immune systom. So I'm terrified to use it because I don't want the infection to get even worse. How is it ok to use flonase for bacterial infection?
612551 tn?1450022175 I suffer from night time nasal congestion and frequently use an Afrin-type nose spray once at bedtime... I also use saline spray and try to get by using just that for a few nights - not sure what I used the night of the nose bleed. I also note I am on Coumadin (blood thinner) due to a heart condition. I have no history of nose bleed problems, and have no previous occasions that I sought medical help to stop.
579469 tn?1311705550 s absolutely no high when using nose spray. What you get is clear wide-open nasal passages. Nasal spray is a God-send when you have a bad cold or allergies and you can't breathe. The directions say only use 3-4 days or so. Beyond that you start to develop a physical addiction. This means that abrupt cessation results in your nasal passages swelling shut for up to 4 - 8 days or so with virtually no relief until they open back up naturally again, i.e.
Avatar n tn A good initial treatment is a nasal steroid spray, like Flonase. Zyrtec or Claritin might also be effective. If medical management does not work, immunotherapy (allergy shots) might be required to desensitize you to the things to which you are allergic.
Avatar m tn Mix saltwater and get it into one of your empty bottles(im sure you have one laying around) and use it as if it was 4way nasal spray, within 24 hrs your nasal path will return to normal and you wont need anything,i know it sounds hard to believe but trust me,I was using about 2 bottles a week until an elder man told me this, I havent used anything in 2 weeks now,I wouldnt have never believed it either but he knew what he was talking about, I think I just had to use the saltwater 2 or 3 times, and
Avatar f tn Can nasal spray make your blood pressure go high?i really think i have a problem with this stuff i never did up until 2 years ago i just don't know what to do for the first time i started bleeding from my nose.im going to try and stop useing it but whenever i do the right side of my nose get's stuff up what should i do?
Avatar n tn Some doctor suggested me a drug Fluticasone propionate. It is generic drug called Flonase. With 30 days of regular spray, I could get away from addiction of Otrivin.
Avatar m tn I know exactly what you are going through, I have many of the same symptoms. The increasing pressure in the ears - sometimes it feels like it unclogs for awhile then builds back up - I even get pressure and tingling in the nose and sinus area for over a month. I get the same advice about it being an Eustachian tube dysfunction and try to be patient as it will likely resolve itself. Meanwhile we're suffering needlessly.
Avatar f tn I was wondering if any of you on the site who have Hep C, who have ever had experience with using a prescription allergy medicine that is a nasal spray? I had taken Flonase in the past, never really cared for the backwash it has. But, I've been seeing an allergist because my allergies have really bothered me this year. He prescribed a medicine that is a nasal spray called Astelin.
Avatar f tn You mentioned dryness so you know a little moisture is needed. You will probably get a lot until your system gets over the Afrin. Do not use any other nasal spray. If your nose starts running excessively move to an OTC non-drowsy tablet for nasal congestion and take only one tablet a day.
612551 tn?1450022175 My question applies to competing brands, including stuff that is a copy like Equate, which I don't seem to currently offer the "Moisture" version. So, is the "Afrin No Drip 12 Hour Pump Mist, Extra Moisturizing" better than the "regular Afrin"? Same for any other competitors. For reference, I have ongoing trouble with nasal congestion when lying down, sleep time. Afrin and generic work great, but if I use for a week or more I start have sneezing problems.
Avatar n tn I will be making an appointment with my family physician to get this checked out. I use nasal steroid spray Flonase besides the nasal saline. No BP problems...they actually stay pretty low. My septum is not deviated. I will ask that my bloodwork be done and clotting factors checked.
Avatar f tn I'm also taking Fluticasone Propionate and have the very same issue. I think it's because the nasal spray dries out the nasal cavity. At first, I started having bloody noses, but then that stopped and this current symptom started. My doctor had said it may make the nose very dry and to try saline solution once daily after the Flonase. I have yet to do that, but it's supposed to help. Hope that helps.
Avatar n tn Tough question. There are many reasons for post nasal drip and tinnitus. If your nose is still running, could it be sinusitis? Do notice any weird smells from your nose? Headaches? A chronic sinus infection will cause post nasal drip. But it could be that one month with Flonase isn't long enough to get your symptoms under control. I would say 2 months would be more reasonable to decide if there is something else. this type of therapy takes a while for things to set in.
Avatar m tn I have had asthma my whole life and when I got it (maybe a few times a month max) i'd use my inhaler and I would get that instant relief us asthmatics feel. A few years ago I had an odd experience with my asthma, my chest was tight and I was very short of breath. My inhaler didn't do anything and nebulizer treatments didn't seem to help either. After an hour I felt better but from that day on my breathing/asthma has never been the same.
Avatar m tn I'm 22 male, active and have real high Bp (i guess heriditary) but I'm hoping to get this under control soon with my meds(hydrochloric thiazides, amlodipine) but this started before treatment ... I've had pressure above my nose for over a month now and a weird feeling in the back of my head (spaced out/dizzy kinda feeling) its stronger sometimes then others but is constantly around I recently had a brain/head ct scan and they said all was normal...
Avatar n tn I remember with DS #2 I was on claritan (I think) and flonase nasal spray. I would talk with your doctor to get a better idea of whats safe or not.
Avatar m tn You can also use nasal corticosteroid sprays like nasocort or flonase. Decongestants may also be helpful in reducing symptoms such as nasal congestion, but they should not be used for long periods.Steam inhalation can be used instead of nasal holding. Cromolyn sodium is a nasal spray (Nasalcrom) for treating hay fever. Eye drop versions of cromolyn sodium and antihistamines are available for itchy, bloodshot eyes. If the symptoms are intense then you can go in for immunotherapy.
Avatar f tn I checked with my doctor and they agreed. She did give me a prescription for a nasal spray to help with breathing. It is called Flonase.
1939607 tn?1324289300 yeast infections of the throat and sinus problems (also Flonase side-effects). Almost all mentioned taking Flonase or similar nasal sprays for the initial illness (cold or sinus infection). I believe that people start taking the flonase to help cold/flu/sinus infection, and then it gives us this traveling, achy sore in the Eustachian tubes. I often cough up these dry little patches after a cold, like tiny white scabs.
Avatar m tn Did the doc suggest trying occasional antihistamines. He can also give you a prescription for cortisone nose spray like flonase. You could get some allergy tests, could be allergic to something, like pet hair. Keep yourself from breathing in cold air also, could make it worse. Try vicks rub on your throat also and get those tests and talk more to the doc for more referrals for allergist and prescriptions if it doesn't get better soon. If you have pets, might be pet dander.
