Flonase how to use

Common Questions and Answers about Flonase how to use

flovent

I was given flonase today for my nasal congestion. Is flonase good to be on also how long before it works I am told it won't work right away??
I was reading on the internet about this drug and the effects it may have on pediatric use or adolescent use. This drug is a steroid, and I don’t know if Flonase will effect my growth, how long should I be taking this drug? I only get allergies in the spring so I assume I won’t be taking this for long. A few years ago they gave me Flonase and I did fine. But was I really ok?
Hi, flonase is a synthetic corticosteroid and some people may have allergic reactions to this medication. It has an elimination half-life of approximately 7.8 hours. So, your symptoms may not occur after about one day. But it may take some time for the already existing rash to disappear. You can use OTC benadryl and consult your doctor if your symptoms worsen. Regards.
Has anyone experienced extreme headaches from flonase use after being on it for some time. How to I get off of the flonase so I can restore my sinuses?
3 days ago I began feeling a loss of appetite and discontinued use of the flonase as I suspect that the double dosing may be causing my stomach upset and loss of appetite. I believe that flonase contains a anti-inflamitory steriod that may be triggering the loss of appetite. Food still smells good and tastes good. I eat a fair portion at meal times, but am not snacking at all like I used to desire to. I have not noticed any weight loss.
I will be skipping tonight's dose (Saturday) as I am scared to continue and am unable to get in touch with the prescriber. Could Levaquin cause these symptoms? If so, is it necessary to discontinue the drug if these side effects occur? My second question is will the Levaquin help the tympanic membrane retraction or would Sudafed be the best bet for that?
So I'm terrified to use it because I don't want the infection to get even worse. How is it ok to use flonase for bacterial infection? Have any of you used flonase for infection. My infection is not allergy related, it came from a cold that was going around. Thanks so much for reading. and yes I have been using nasal irrigation along with all of the other home remedies I have found on the internet.
When i ask why he gets furious with me and says to get off his back and that i'm trying to find something to make a big deal about etc. Shoot me sttaight people...weigh in please with your take on this scenario. Thank you i really need some outside input.
) I know that telling the Dr that I use to use drugs made one just tell me to get out of his office and wouldn't help me.
Sometimes when they are really bad you can steam a few cabbage leaves in the water you use to make the tea. It dosn't taste really good but works great! Peppermint tea is also calming. Don't stop your cardio!! You don't have to run, brisk walking works good too. (This is from Bottom Line's Healing Remedies) This remedy is recommended for people who have a history of heart problems - right before going to bed, take a 10 minute footbath.
I'm trying the cold turkey thing but suffice it to say that is a struggle. So it really worked? If you're still on this board, I'd love to know how long it took you to wean yourself and what approach you took. Hope to hear from you soon.

I'm not sure how I'm going to deal with it. That's how it always restarts for me. I wish there was an answer, but I sure don't know what it is. You have many cohorts here, anyway. It's been helping me tons!
You are very kind to take the time to write, you must know how frustrating this is, thanks very much and I will keep you up to date I what's going on........... your info is very helpful and I'm just looking for some kind of relief.

These medications include fexofenadine (Allegra), and cetirizine (Zyrtec). You can also use nasal corticosteroid sprays like nasocort or flonase. Decongestants may also be helpful in reducing symptoms such as nasal congestion, but they should not be used for long periods. Cromolyn sodium is a nasal spray (Nasalcrom) for treating hay fever. If the symptoms are intense then you can go in for immunotherapy Hope it helps.
I am happy to see all of us trying to quite taking these pills because each time I come here and read what you guys wrote makes me stronger to never take these pills again
} also you need a mucinex 1 every 4 to 6 hours. and before you go to sleep you take a qu-tip and put triple antibiotic, like neosporin, up both sides of the nose. this keeps the infection from spreading. all 5 of these items work amazing. within 1 day the smell is gone and the bacterial infection is going away. but it takes ten days and your back to normal. if you don't take care of this it could spread very rapidly to lungs and other parts of your body.
It is very difficult for me to be around people indoors, due to reactions to perfumes. It is embarrasing when the person tells me they don't have perfume on. Thus it could be in the lotion they have on. Does anybody have this problem? What do you do to keep it under control? I have changed my diet to include more vegetables. Gone to chiropractor, homoeopathic, acupuncturist, MD, Allergist, Pulmonary specialist.
I told her and she took it out. She didn't use it to clean out the ear after that. Ear still felt stopped up. She looked in it and said it looked a little red. Told her and the Dr. it still felt stopped up. He told me to try Clartin or something like that. Don't like Clartin cause it reves me up. Yesterday 9 days later my ear has started hurting. Still can't hear out of it good and it feels like there's still water in it. Took Sudafed today for the first time.
No, you don't have to have a prescription to use the mask. Anyone can use the masks, regardless of health status, including healthy young ladies, such as yourself. They even have one that is meant just for the cold air. They also have a really good dust mask, although I just use my filtration mask, since it is very good for dust as well. No sense in spending money I don't have.
But there was also a trick to making the Flonase work - to use the OTC nasal spray Afrin - a vasoconstrictor - to open up the sinusues about 5 minutes before using the Flonase. He said that if you didn't use the Afrin, the steroid would just sit there in your mucus and ultimately be worthless. My mom didn't like his treatment plan simply because she doesn't like nasal sprays but IT WORKED.
I dont know how to get my baby to eat. She eats very little. She is allergic to milk. She has Vital JR but she wont drink it anymore. She did at first and now refuses. Her doct wants to send her to a GI but I dont think that is her problem. She was born with a severe deviated nasal septum. Im wondering if this is bothering her and if this is why she wont eat. She was on Flonase for 3m then off and she started not eating.
Call the pharmacist at your local pharmacy and ask him how to wean off of the nasal spray. My brother was addicted to it some years ago and the pharmacist helped him. I cannot stand to get a stuffy nose and do use the stuff when I have too but I always use only have the 2 spray dose, and also stop after about 3 days.
I appreciate your honesty about your addiction. I was once an opiate addict and in Dec. will be clean and sober for 3 years. I just wanted to tell you that I hope the tapering method works for you. It never did for me. People use to tell me that addicts end up in three places, jail, instituions, or the ground. I didn't ever believe it but, it is true. I landed in two of them. I also could not tell me husband, who had also been unfaithful, or anyone else for that matter.
Does anyone know of a medication that can shrink nasal polyps without the use of corticosteroids?? I currently take flonase, but need to discontinue usage due to the fact that I'm trying to fight off an infection. Thanks for any info that can be provided !!
I seen a cardiologist today for about two minutes after an hour an a half wait in his 90 degree office, to have him tell me that my six months of occasional dizziness when I sit up in the mornings is the result of drinking too much tea and that I'm dehydrated, while he was taking a call from his wife wanting to know how long until he's finished.
What can I do for this?? I'm so stuffy sometimes I have to breath through my mouth. If I try to go to sleep, (which is hard enough already), I can't breath. I'm blowing my nose way to much, I'm going through 1-2 boxes of tissue a week! What can I do, or what will help? Should I try Benadryl? Anyone else dealing with this??
If it were me looking at your MRI - I'd move to a new Neuro first. I'm not sure how they can explain those areas without thinking 'something' is going on. I dunno Lisa, p*ss poor care IMO. Really. I'm not just saying that. I don't have any obvious lesions like that but I've not heard a word about this being pyschological. They have indicated early on that some of it may be stress (the paresthesias, etc.) I tend to cover my bases.
Just a word of caution with Echinacea - if you find that you are allergic to various flowers you would be best to avoid Echinacea as it is derived from a flower and people have been known to have allergies to it. Did you know that use of some nasal sprays for more than 3-5 days actually makes the problem worse? Okay I'll get off my pharmacy assistant podium now.
