Avatar m tn Afterwards my cough came back and I saw a doctor and he told me do not use flonase which makes me cough. I am confused?
464237 tn?1315670793 t want the infection to get even worse. How is it ok to use flonase for bacterial infection? Have any of you used flonase for infection. My infection is not allergy related, it came from a cold that was going around. Thanks so much for reading. and yes I have been using nasal irrigation along with all of the other home remedies I have found on the internet.
Avatar n tn s flonase spray and Astepro, spray ?? 15%.
Avatar m tn Dr. Prescribed Flonase for vertigo. The way to apply, he said, was to have head down and use the opposite hand for each nostril.
Avatar f tn t take really any allergy meds due to issues with tachycardia and palpitations. My doctor suggested Flonase, but I am allergic to sulfur (used a sulfur mask once and my whole face swelled huge, used to have to brush me teeth with sulfur water and my entire mouth would get blisters) and I noticed that Flonase contains sulfur in its makeup. Can I use it?

Avatar n tn I've had this for about 4 years. Dr. says to use Flonase daily, so just started it. I think it might be from sinus but I have no symptoms.
Avatar f tn Flonase...isn't that addictive?? Just use a netti pot. I think there are low dose zinc lozenges and supplements. I'd get a 2nd opinion r research more, but imho & recent experience: sore throat came on and went away on its own. So how about just trying a little extra water and orange juice, or squeeze fresh lemon into warm or hot water? Would you give your baby flonase for stuffy nose? If not, don't use it for yourself either. Think about the fact that you can have a baby...
Avatar f tn The folliculitis is limited to the scalp only. I am real curious about the Flonase use ,but also read of a connection toi high tryglycerides, which I do have a problem with. No test have been done, saw family physician, she only suggested a dandruff shampoo. I have been using T- Gel and Demerex.
Avatar f tn This time, my symptoms were a slightly scratchy throat, a very dry throat, and most noticeable, a very bad breath. I purchased Flonase and started using it 4 days ago. I use it every night and my sickness has seemed to get better. However, the breath is still slightly there. Starting today, a ticklish feeing in the back of my Thais has appeared and I continue to get the urge of wanting to cough.
Avatar f tn I was using it for my allergies my sinuses were so congested it was making my teeth and face hurt so bad and giving me a clogged ear with an ear ache. It did seem to help some but now she wants me to not use it for a couple of weeks to see if that was causing my nose irriation she said some people have that problem from using this product. So if it was the problem not sure what they will use for my allergies. It's always something lol.
Avatar n tn Your mouth "filled with blood"? Whoah. Assuming that this is related to the Flonase is exactly that -- an assumption. This should be taken seriously and examined.
Avatar n tn This type of treatment is newer than the shots and we are stuck on deciding what company/brand to use. Looking for the one with a great track record. Thank you in advance for your feedback and advice!
2114467 tn?1358210256 i'm curious if it is ok to use flonase. also, is benadryl ok to use. I just finished using my netti pot for nasal allergies. I'm trying to be careful about drug interaction; I haven't started the boc yet.
Avatar n tn I've had such a tough time with sinus headaches, allergies (watery eyes, plugged ears and tinnitus) and fatigue that I finally went to an ear-nost-throat doctor last week. He put me on Nasonex, a steroid nasal spray, to reduce the inflammation. I also hear my heartbeat in my ear at times, and he's hoping that a month on Nasonex will stop that. If not, he'll do a CT scan and other work to see what's going on.
Avatar f tn Sometimes an air purifier helps and dry air makes it worse so hopefully it helps for you to use a humidifier. There are a number of different medications indicated to treat this as well. https://www.medicinenet.com/chronic_rhinitis/article.htm Seeing an ENT would be really helpful for you and we hope you come back and let us know how it is going.
Avatar m tn Does anyone know of a medication that can shrink nasal polyps without the use of corticosteroids?? I currently take flonase, but need to discontinue usage due to the fact that I'm trying to fight off an infection. Thanks for any info that can be provided !!
1939607 tn?1324289300 I had a second round of antibiotics (Clarythromicin, Z-Pack) and the second one I was also given Magic Mouthwash (oral lidocane gargle). I was advised to use Flonase, and which I keep on hand but rarely use (OTC), and Claritin-D (ditto). Warning: Grossness ahead. The first night, I had a horrible "pull" on my palate, to bring the mucus down. It was two coagulated (clotted) lumps of dark yellow mucus, a little bloody, and I immediately felt a little better.
746512 tn?1388807580 My short answer is yes. There are other things that can cause asthma-like problems, too, which my own allergist is investigating with me. But, what you're describing sounds like what I'm going through myself. If your doctor decides that it's not asthma, you still need to find out what precautions you can take to prevent this coughing you're describing. Ask your doctor about something called "Vocal cord dysfunction".
Avatar f tn Flonase and zertec side effects in children.been taking both sense he was 7 and has stopped growing in height but is gaining weight and is having problems breathing.he is 11 now.
Avatar m tn This DOESN'T sound like anything "allergy-related." As far as testing for autoimmune disorders.....there are numerous labs that can be drawn; depends on what the physician is suspecting. This would be a job for your physician to figure out. Flonase....pffff......that's NOT going to do anything for you. Doesn't sound like this physician knows what he is doing or he isn't going to do much for you. I would ask to be referred out to a Specialty. Again......
Avatar m tn Told me not to use it every day, to try backing off to every couple of days and see if that helped. I still use it once in a while but I try not to swallow it, I try to spit it out when it starts running down my throat.
612551 tn?1450022175 About two months ago I had to go to ER for an early morning (3AM) nose bleed that I couldn't stop at home. I woke up with the condition from an otherwise sound sleep. I suffer from night time nasal congestion and frequently use an Afrin-type nose spray once at bedtime... I also use saline spray and try to get by using just that for a few nights - not sure what I used the night of the nose bleed. I also note I am on Coumadin (blood thinner) due to a heart condition.
Avatar m tn Call the pharmacist at your local pharmacy and ask him how to wean off of the nasal spray. My brother was addicted to it some years ago and the pharmacist helped him. I cannot stand to get a stuffy nose and do use the stuff when I have too but I always use only have the 2 spray dose, and also stop after about 3 days.
Avatar m tn Since you're only 22, my own advice is to tackle both the BP and the nasal problems naturally. There are good natural remedies that, combined with changes in diet and exercise, work very well with high BP and don't require you to use medication particularly at such a young age. The natural approach will actually try to solve your problem instead of tamp down the symptoms, causing other problems.
Avatar f tn Thank u so much! I just feel so bad when I don't use them I feel like I can't talk, eat and of course breath! But at the same time I get scared what if something happened to the baby. But thank god baby is healthy. :) and I'm not the only one.
