1939607 tn?1324289300 mild swelling (throat), sore throat, white sores/dry spots in the throat, nausea and vomiting, sinus irritation and congestion, pain in the lymph node area. I also experienced feeling difficulty swallowing, dry cough, dry throat/mouth -- all signs of a relatively severe allergy. Lots and lots of sufferers online have been asking about this.
Avatar n tn I've had a sore throat for three months with no other symptoms. In April, I went to Urgent Care, because it felt like my throat was on fire it was so unbelievably sore. After being tested I was told that I thankfully do not have strep throat. She prescribed me medication called Loratadine, which I began taking once a day and suggested taking a Benadryl every night before bed.
Avatar n tn The doc said it was a virus with Eustachian tube dysfunction . Sge put me on Flonase The sore throat went awar but was left with a persistent cough for a week . I would wake up and it was so hard to swallow because the Mucus in my throat was so sick. After the cough subside I started to have throat pain again when I wake up then it would proceed to get better during the day and then towards the end of the day it's uncomfortable to say the least .
504569 tn?1210454440 got flu shot on Dec 4, 2013 been sick ever since, started feelling little under the weather, then coughing with crazy unheard amounts of green mucus came up with the cough, lasted for almost a month, then my throat so sore it was almost making me cry, sore throat and ear pain mostly on right side, the pain was feeling like it went from throat to jawbone and jawbone made teeth feel very sore, looked like strings of green pus in very back of throat, pus also in the folds of my tonsils on the side
Avatar f tn I swear by zinc lozenges on the first onset of a sore throat. I'm only 5 Weeks pregnant and wouldn't you know it, I have the start of a sore throat. anyone know if it's ok to take the lozenges? I know, I know, I need to ask my OB but I don't even have one in place yet since I'm so early on.
Avatar f tn My symptoms were a slightly sore, but scratchy throat. I had some pain in my right tonsil and right ear. My throat was red but not that inflamed or swollen. Most of all, I suffered from a really bad breath. It would still persist no matter how much I flossed, brushed my teeth, did mouthwash, or chewed gum. Around a week ago, I began to develop a sickness. This time, my symptoms were a slightly scratchy throat, a very dry throat, and most noticeable, a very bad breath.
Avatar f tn I suggest you NEVER take Flonase (Fluticasone Propionate)! I never will again. Had a sore throat and the doctor at the clinic had me take Flonase saying it was an allergy and I did, against my better judgement. Developed a cough about10 days later and saw my regular physician (probably much later than I should have, about two more weeks) and she gave me an antibiotic that helped for a while and told me that if this continues, to have a chest x-ray.
Avatar m tn I have been taking the medicine (Flonase) for a month now but still have a sore throat on and off. He never swabbed my throat either. What could this be? The sore throat is there one day and the next day it's gone. The back of my throat is really red and looks swollen. Could this be a bacterial infection or something from giving oral? Thanks in advance!
Avatar m tn My 5yr old son has always been a good eater. Pretty much eats anything. For the last 2 weeks he has been eating very little, chewing it forever and then seems to have a problem swallowing it. He doesn't complain of a sore throat or stomach ache. We took him to the doctor to check and see if he had strep. He didn't. He was a little stuffy and the doctor gave him Flonase to help clear things out in the hopes this would help. She said to give it a week and then give her a call.
Avatar f tn Let me also add that I suffer from horrible allergies and take Zyrtec and Flonase daily. I have one tonsil that is much larger than the other and seem to get strep and sinus infections very easily. One visit I was diagnosed with an infection (most likely strep she said, although no white spots....just huge tonsil with an opaque surface) after being asked about tonsil stones. I never heard of them so I read up on it.
Avatar m tn I've had an upper respiratory infection for about a week. Went to the doctor this morning with severe ear pain, no infection, just inflammation due to the other infection. Was recommended Flonase, rest, and fluids. After I came home and took the Flonase I've had this really weird fizzing sensation off and on at the back of my throat all day. It feels like a handful of poprocks are at the top of my throat/back of my mouth. It's a really weird suggestion.
Avatar f tn I went to the ENT today. He told me I have a deviated septum, a narrow passage and a lot of congestion. He told me that Flonase and nasal sprays won't help me much. He wants me to do a sleep study. He asked if I feel tired during the day or have headaches in the morning. Which I do sometimes. I do not want to wear a C-pap. I was told there was a surgery. Anyone know about it?
Avatar m tn It occurs to me that flonase might even work better because more of the stream of fluticasone propionate would hit the back of my throat and be swallowed, getting more to my esophagus and less to my mouth. The key point though is I can get flonase inexpensively, whereas the flovent is more than I can easily afford. My question is this, is there some sound medical reason why I shouldn't try to use flonase as I would the flovent (spray and swallow to coat the esophagus)?
Avatar m tn Also there is a feeling of dryness in my throat and mouth!!! Nothing gives me relief!!! I saw 3 ENT doctors and they all said my throat looks normal. They had me take antibiotics and even some kind of steroid but that didn't help!! I went to 2 gastroenterologists thinking it might be acid reflux causing the pain....They had me take about 3 months worth of Dexilant and Nexium treatment but it didn't help.
Avatar n tn Took amoxicillan for 10 days, along with Zantac and Flonase but sore throat still present. Referred to ENT, scoped and found sinus infection which I've never had before (in early 40's now) now taking Amox & Cav combo, Rhinocort Aqua, Zantac and nasal irrigation.
Avatar f tn I went to my doctor for a routine exam and had him look at my right ear and throat as I had woken up that morning with slight pain. He said I had an ear and throat infection and e-prescribed me an antibiotic. Well, that evening I went to pick my prescription up but the pharmacy didn't receive it. I was leaving the next morning for a business trip and didn't have time to deal with it. Since my symptoms weren't too bothersome I wasn't too concerned.
867954 tn?1356900863 I've had chronic sinus infections pretty much for years. I got a new doctor lately, who is a lot faster at seeing me, etc. Anyway, long story short lately I hear at times a thumping noise in my right ear mainly, it's only happened in the left a handful of times. When it happens in the right, it usually goes on for 24 hours at a time, obviously annoying enough to cause me some loss of sleep, aggravation, etc.
Avatar n tn s unfortunate when medication costs so much sometimes that we have to find an alternative. Flonase and Astepro are likely the right names. Flonase is a corticosteroid spray and Astepro is an antihistamine spray. Dymista is a combination medication so it makes sense that the doctor is suggesting the two medications will work as the Dymista did. Let us know how it goes.
Avatar n tn I have had a red and burning throat for about a month now! I get small white lesions on my inside cheeks and it feel like a scratch on the right side of my throat when I swallow. All started after using Flonase for several nights. Oral Thrush maybe! Any Ideas.
Avatar m tn I have a esophagus condition and was told to take flonase and spray 2 shots in my mouth twice a day. Flonase is a steroid and it helps with the inflammation. I had difficulty swallowing to the point of choking and passing out and this has helped me tremendously.
Avatar n tn He told me to take Claritin D and he prescribed Flonase. I started taking/using both, and the pressure eased up a little bit, but it was still there. At that time, I was also experiencing some sinus pressure. That seems to have lessened. Fast forward to now - I went to the doctor because my neck was swollen on the left side and I could feel a large lump. She kind of brushed it off, but I asked for an ultrasound, which showed that I have 3 "cystic nodules" in the submandibular region.
Avatar f tn I had this and they said it may have started for me with a virus. Anyway, what helped was a ear nose and throat doctor recommending backward ear popping. Hold nose, blow out and your ears will pop. I had eustacian tube dysfunction and this helped the situation. I did the reverse popping often. See if that works at all for you.
Avatar f tn ve done/taken, the symptoms have only mildly improved - maybe 30% with the zyrtec, flonase, and filter combined. I never stop feeling the drainage down the back of my throat. It just never stops, ever. What should I do? What CAN I do?!
Avatar m tn About this time, I sometimes get a slightly sore throat, some nasal discharge, loose stools, pressure in my ears, neck and throat. What can be done for this? I read holding your nose sometimes helps to loosen up mucous. Any ideas? Please appreciate your suggestions.
Avatar f tn Now my jaws top and bottom get achy at times and It sometimes travels down my neck. My throat feels irritated and when I eat it feels like a lump or tight. The thyroid is not causing this. I started Flonase a few days ago and Allegra. My question is should I be worried that it's throat cancer or something serious. I would think having 2 thyroid ultrasounds something would be seen. Also no swollen glands or lymph nodes. I'm scared to death. Any help or support would mean the world.
Avatar n tn Any suggestions. I woke up one day and felt like their was a constant lump in my throat as well as a weird feeling like the back of my tongue is dry or burning(hard to explain). my doctor said it was nasal drip, gave my Flonase but this made my tongue feel more "dry". I went to an ENT and he said it's lpr and gave me omeprazole twice a day.
Avatar n tn I went to the doctor and they put me on Amoxicylin, Afrin, Flonase, and some ear ache relief drops, but nothing is getting better (except my right ear). What in the world is going on with me?
