Flomax urinary frequency

Common Questions and Answers about Flomax urinary frequency

flomax

It works abt. 90% of the time. The urinary frequency which comes and goes in me is taken care of by a med. I never take that med unless symptoms arise. Being on meds all the time is debilitating in and of itself so I try to limit things for my own good. I always find it very interesting that most of the people who have the hesitant diagnosis of MS - i.e. Poppy's statement that every thinks it's MS but noone will commit to - most of these people are women!
enlarged prostate regardless of biopsy outcome. Flomax does not seem to be making an improvement in frequency of urination--does this have an indication that cancer is more likely? In other words, if nodule were benign would the Flomax be likely to work better? Does progressive increase in frequency indicate a higher chance of cancer?
The urge frequency was sometimes unbearable!! Anyhow started on Flomax, and in just one day noticed the frequency (6-8x day to 4x) and urgency diminished. If no BPH...how is the Flomax working??? Thanks!
My symptoms seem to be worse--partial retention, frequency, bloating. How successful is this surgery? Should I demand Greenlight Laser Surgery which is more invasive and supposedly more effective?
I have always passed the voiding ultrasound, so I don't know how that could be. He prescribed flomax, and I have been on it ever since. Flomax helps a little, but I still have urgency. Also, like Jbrooks, my symptoms are amplified after a bowel movement. No one can explain what is going on. I also noticed that when my symptoms are the worst, my urine is almost clear like water and I pass a decent amount of urine. It has a peculiar smell as well. So, here I am with no answers.
I'm a 36-year old white male, and I've been diagnosed with polyneuropathy of unknown origin. (I have clear MRIs but have had mild symptoms for years). I've had urinary urgency and frequency issues for almost ten years. Sometimes having the sensation of a full bladder has made sex difficult, so a previous doctor prescribed me Urecholine PRN to ensure that my bladder was empty before sex.
, which I believe means the urethra and vagina opened into the same canal. I have always had some degree of urinary retention since birth, but I spent my first 25 years able to void on my own (although with frequency issues) and never had kidney infections etc. Due to frequency issues, I met with a uro for the first time since infancy (about 7 years ago) and he had me start to self-cath, which I do every time I need to urinate now.
I was once again prescribed SULFAMETHOXAZOLE TMP DS TABITP along with Flomax and Naproxen. After two months of being on these three medications, i still have the same symptoms! arrrrrghhhh! Is there anyone out there with helpful information? Anyone with similar problem who has been helped or a doctor/specialist who can diagnose my probelm and tell me what is wrong with me?
I have had a UTI for three weeks there wasn't burning just frequency and inside I was in pain good luck
If there is any craziness i believe thats not the cause of this urinary frequency, but a result of it. another symptom that i have is that sometimes i say myself ok i need to go as the pressure is intense, and after i go i actually feel a major relief, like i can breathe better, even though i was not aware of having any tension before urinating. then i feel very good and happy and imagine that might have been the last time i had to rush to the toilet, just to go through the same 2 hours later.
Enlarged prostrate needs continuous treatment if with medications or a one time surgical treatment. If left untreated BPH, causes increased urinary frequency, urgency, recurrent UTI’s etc. Consult a urologist before starting the medication. Best.
The good news is you have no pain. Urinary frequency without pain or infection could be overactive bladderContinue to follow with your urologist to help sort this out.
In June/July 2007 I started having testicle pain as well as penis pain and burning and increased urinary frequency with burning. My doctor diagnosed prostatitis and gave me antibiotics. About a week into taking the antibiotics I felt a tearing and gurgle feeling right at the sight/scar area of a previous(about3-4 yrs ago) hernia surgery.
After the return of the labs the Dr. put me on Flowmax which lessened some of my urinary frequency symptoms. Things seemed to be getting better until my wife and I had sex. After ejaculation I began to feel a slight pain in my penis and experienced the frequency in urinating symptoms for about a day. There was no pain upon ejaculation and my semen was darker than normal.
Typically, this medication will relieve an obstructive symptoms (such as urinary frequency, dribbling, or hesitency) caused by the enlarged prostate. 11) A cystoscopy should be considered to evaluate whether there is a lesion, stricture or mass that could be causing your urinary symptoms. If this cannot be performed an intravenous pyelography (IVP) can also be considered. 12) There have not been large studies examining many of the techniques found on the internet.
I am a 40-year-old male experiencing low urinary flow. I have seen a urologist and my bladder voiding is fine, but my flow is very low. It takes me between 50 seconds and as much as 2 minutes to urinate and the urologist has said it should take me 20 to 30 seconds. I have no stopping and starting, just a weak continuous flow, and usually only get up once if at all during the night to go. I usually experience some burning at the tip of the penis during urination.
It can happen due to routine urinary tract infections also. I would suggest to take amoxicillin with flomax, along with an anti-inflammatory drug to reduce pain. Get the investigations done and visit a urologist. Take care.
My dad has a 30 year hx of parkinsons. Over the last year has has been having period of urinary retention , frequency, urgency and incontinence for which he was tx with flomax (with relief). Over that last 2-3 months he has had a couple of falls which he described as different from his parkinsons related falls--there was no staggering or loss of balance-he just went down. We recorded his BP sitting and standing and noted a SBP in 40's when up.
Other medication for an enlarged prostate to minimize urinary frequency include tamsulosin. You can try Flomax or Urotel and see how you respond to these agents which work at the bladder level. It would be better, however, to consult your urologist regarding a change in prescription in view of the side effects caused by the finasteride.
Men, as they get older, can no longer knock a fly off 6 feet up a wall. • Frequency of urination. This is particularly bothersome at night. Suffers will complain that their sheep is being disturbed two or even three time during the night by the urge to go to the toilet. • Difficulty in starting urination. This is made worse if they are in a busy public toilet. Men with BPH will often seek a cubical for urinating rather than share a line of urinals where pressure may be put on them to hurry up.
I don't see any symptoms,as my urination frequency has reduced to half. What are the target values of Uroflowmetry? My prostate vol has changed from 55.7gms to 64 and then to 77gms on different machines. Please advise as I don't have any other health issue.
Is there anything that could have happened during my labor and delivery/c-section (malpractice by a nurse or doctor) that could have caused this? Does my doctor's diagnosis sound right...or should I seek a second opinion? Is there anything I should be concerned about with self-catheterizing long term (if I have to)? Should I push to have other tests done (cystoscopy, neurological, etc.)?
) Even though the inital, glaringly obvious problem has been worked through(sort of), many other symptoms still persist to this day-language issues with wrong word coming out, urinary hesitation(using Flomax), constant corset-like tightness around my entire ribcage with occasional, random spasms targeting specific focal points, unbearable fatigue, brain fog (I can't even think of the rest right now, LMAO!!).
Last December my 'infection' did not clear up. I had urinary frequency and the desparate urges 24/7. I was answering the call and sometimes voiding around 40 times a day. This was the only relief from the urgency feeling, but it only lasted minutes as the urge was right there again. The pain in my bladder kept me off my sleep for many weeks and I didn't know what to do. My bladder was on fire. My GP referred me to hospital as he did not know how to help me.
There is also another problem not related to MS but called Urinary Stenosis Meatus. basically it is a narrowing of the urethra. and may have to be streched. your symtoms sound similar to this. it could be caused by low hormones. its an in office procedure and its not that bad. but can offer great relief. All in all I hope you will got reffered to the specialist they will know best. do ask about the latter disorder I mentioned as well as the fact that you have been dx with MS.
I received oral and had vaginal intercourse, briefly without condom. The day after there was irritation at tip of penis. Urgency and frequency to urinate followed in next couple of days with occasional tiny but of clear discharge. I went to doctor 6 days after. There was no white blood cells in urine. Treated with zithro and cipro. urgency and frequency went away, but came back. gon/clam test came back negative. I got culture done which came back negative culture.
I went into urgentcare and told them about the low back pain and the frequency of urination during the night. They ordered a urinalysis and it came back negative. The doctor performed a DRE and said that due to my reaction that I had prostatitis and gave me Cipro 500mg twice a day for 14 days. I finished that medication and it seemed to help. About two weeks after that I had some perinium pain and still felt that I had not gotten over it.
Lulu asked me to post regarding the neurostimulator that I have recently had implanted to help with urinary issues. Quick background - Was dealing with urinary frequency issues for the last 3-4 years. Was too busy to see a Dr. until last Sept. 08. After BVR's, uro found that I was retaining around 200cc after each void (I never did feel empty). We danced around blockages and such and tried Vesicare and Flomax, with no relief.

I am a 22 year old suffering from a constant pressure that seems to be in the penis/urethra that may lead to the urinary urgency/frequency ive had for past 2 years. After a cystoscopy the urologist thought my bladder neck was a somewhat elevated but not dramatically, we did video urodynamics to see if bladder neck obstruction was the problem.
