flomax

Avatar n tn The common side effects of Flomax are abnormal ejaculation patterns which include premature ejaculation, retrograde ejaculation etc. Withdrawal from Flomax can resume normal ejaculatory function. There are no studies supporting how much time it takes to resume normal ejaculatory function as it varies from patient to patient and is dose dependent. Consult a urologist for further assistance. Best.
Avatar m tn I'm having the same problems on Flomax with the retro. I'm also scared about the loss of strength stated on some forums. it says that Flomax relaxes the muscles of the prostate and bladder neck so it seems like it could improve blood flow to the prostate and help treat a prostate infection like I've had with shooting pains for months now.
Avatar m tn Hi I recently started having retrograde ejaculation. I am 61 pre diabetic and have an enlarged prostate. My psa has been 1.2. I have been taking flow max for the past 3 years and had noticed a decrease in the amount of sperm but I always ejaculated. Recently I have had several dry orgasms. I have also experimented while taking flow max I have also tried taking Viagra and other times Cialas. Would taking both Flowmax and Cialas or Viagra be causing the retrograde.
Avatar f tn I recently experienced retrograde ejaculation followed by discomfort. I started flomax 2 weeks ago for prostatitis and started taking detrol la 2 days ago. Thank goodness I found this website, as I don't feel so embarrased now, but I am still very concerned.
Avatar m tn Flomax was added the following year, which again worked for awhile, but the symptoms returned after 6 months or so. The Flomax caused retrograde ejaculation, which bothered me because in the past, I had always shot a fairly substantial load when I ***. However, I did discover that if I masturbated in the sauna at my gym (always alone), I sometimes could produce some *** if I leaned back and pressed my thumb against the base of my penis prior to the point of ejaculation.
Avatar m tn Flomax (tamsulosin) is a selective alpha blocker used for treating BPH. One of the side effects of this drug is retrograde ejaculation. Normally, the sphincter of the bladder contracts and the ejaculate goes to the urethra. But in retrograde ejaculation the sphincter does not function properly. Once you stop using this drug it’s effect on the sphincter also fades off. I would suggest that you visit your urologist and discuss the above mentioned possibility and follow his advise. Best.

Avatar m tn p.s - as for the retrograde ejaculation which is scary and weird, it does not happen if you have sex right before its time to take a dose. For example I was taking Flomax after lunch mid day, and if I had sex that evening the retrograde issue would happen, but if I waited to have sex until the next morning or afternoon before taking another dose it does not happen and ejaculate exits out the way it is supposed to...

Avatar n tn Age 64, with flomax I experience no pleasure with my orgasms. Is this because of the retrograd ejac. or is it a side effect of the medication? I may need to have surgery to improve my urinary flow, but retrograde ejac is a common outcome of these surgeries, and I need to know if I am at risk for losing my orgasm pleasure . I do see an occasional posting of men who have lost their pleasure after these surgeries, with no recourse.
Avatar m tn Hi there, It could be you had an episode of retrograde ejaculation. Retrograde ejaculation occurs when semen goes into the bladder instead of leaving the penis during ejaculation. During normal ejaculation, internal muscles, called spincters, close off the opening of the bladder to prevent semen from entering as it passes through the urethra.

Avatar m tn Hello, No release of semen can be due to aspermia or retrograde ejaculation. It may be due to inadequate production of semen or retrograde ejaculation when the semen goes into the bladder instead of out through the penis. Common cause of such symptoms are ejaculatory duct obstruction, diabetes, medications for treating high blood pressure, prostate enlargement and mood disorders, retrograde ejaculation, multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injury or seminal vesicle obstruction.
Avatar n tn On a different note, the other day I masturbated and almost nothing came out. The urologist told me that the flomax causes retrograde ejaculation, but this was in the morning after my flomax has usually worn off (this was at a time of day when I have masturbated and ejaculated before, but no more than a little dribble oozed out. Usually when the flomax is in effect, absolutely nothing comes out).

Avatar f tn Retrograde ejaculation, turp, and BPH MAY affect fertility, but it may not. https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/retrograde-ejaculation/diagnosis-treatment/drc-20354896 https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/transurethral-resection-of-the-prostate-turp/risks/ https://www.healthline.com/health/mens-health/retrograde-ejaculation The only way to know is to have your doctor check. Avatar m tn "This is completely normal ..there is no such thing like retrograde ejaculation as per my knowledge.." Wrong. http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/retrograde-ejaculation/basics/definition/con-20030795 Noah, it's unlikely that you are experiencing retrograde ejaculation, it's pretty uncommon, and usually isn't seen too much in young men, especially young men without some kind of history of a medical issue or surgery that would put you at risk for it.

Avatar m tn Diabetes can cause neuropathy of the bladder sphincter and hence retrogarde ejaculation. Retrograde ejaculation caused by diabetes or surgery may be improved with a medication that improves the muscle tone of the bladder neck. In addition he should control his blood sugar levels and do some kegel exercises to tone up the muscles.
Avatar m tn I'm 24 years old and I have what I believe is retrograde ejaculation. There has never been any ejaculation from me ever but sometimes after my urine is cloudy. Avatar n tn Hi there, “Sudsy” often indicates proteinuria. Urinary tract infections (UTIs) and retrograde ejaculation are commonest causes of this condition. During sexual arousal the prostate gland manufactures fluid that accounts for about 2/3 of the volume of ejaculate. The seminal vesicles are paired structures located behind the prostate gland that also manufacture fluid.
Avatar n tn What happened to your sperm is called Retrograde Ejaculation. The seminal fluid passes from the posterior part of the urethra and into the bladder. I would definitely see a urologist, quit drinking as much, and get tested for diabetes. Hope this helps.
