Flomax prostate cancer

Common Questions and Answers about Flomax prostate cancer

flomax

Avatar m tn Had radiation for prostate cancer which worked. PSA virtually undetectable. Does Flomax interfere with Viagra?
Avatar m tn 78,which is below 10,nothing serious, beyond, with 4/5times urination at night. With treatment I am alarmed of infection, possibility of cancer and what not.Sometimes no knowledge is blessing! Since PSA is 3.6now and postviod vol is fairly ok with lower frequency of 2/3times,i must thank the physician/urologist,as cancer possibility is ruled out. I am only concern as Duprost side reaction indicates induced cancer(Drugs.com),low bp & blurred vision.
Avatar m tn I did not associate it with flomax until recently. Is it harmful if I stop taking the flomax and is this the cause of my retro? This discussion is related to Retrograde Ejaculation from Flomax......permanent or not?.
Avatar n tn In my opinion, sounds like the flomax which he probably is taking for his prostate. Either the dosage should be decreased or the medication changed completely. Does he have a heart issue, a bp issue or just this prostate issue? He definitely needs to have this followed up with a physician; good luck with that.
1580703 tn?1651904887 the pain was through the whole pelvis and also individual veins or spermatic cord. does Flomax permanently shrink your prostate or reduce testosterone levels? I read one forum where people where saying they had a permanent loss of strength, could not throw the discus as far? I'm still not cured of the pelvic pain on Flomax+cipro after a few days it is labeled as relaxing the bladder neck and prostate muscles but it has these strength loss problems.
Avatar m tn Decisions to stay on flomax should be based on whether it is helping your prostate symptoms. Stopping flomax is not felt to eliminate the risk of FIS.
Avatar m tn Hi, Thanks for writing in. Prostatitis is usually not a side effect of use of flomax, indeed it can happen due to BPH, for which flomax is used as treatment. It would be better to get prostrate examination done by a urologist and take opinion for surgery for resolving these symptoms. Choice of antibiotics depends upon the kind of organism affecting the prostrate. Best.
Avatar n tn 2 years ago I was going to have my prostate removed because of a cancer problem and with the new procedures available. A doctor I was going to use stuck a camera up my penis and later that day I had to go to the emergency room because I could not urinate. They stuck a catheter in to releve the problem and ever since I've had to use a catheter to urinate. I did not have my prostate removed. I had a problem some 7 years a doctor found out from a biopsy I had cancer in one area of the prostate.
Avatar m tn this is a test to determine if the prostate is overactive and will help rule out other problems. this test was helpful for me because it help my doctor diagnose my prostate cancer before it spreaded. not intended to alarm you!
Avatar n tn Are you taking Flomax for prostate issues? Flomax works by relaxing the muscles in the bladder and prostate, which leads to improved flow of urine and fewer symptoms of BPH. It indeed can have side effects like you describe. https://www.healthline.com/health/enlarged-prostate/flomax-side-effects#side-effects It's a relatively low percentage of patients, less than 4% that have these types of side effects but none the less, that could be going on for you.
Avatar m tn The urge frequency was sometimes unbearable!! Anyhow started on Flomax, and in just one day noticed the frequency (6-8x day to 4x) and urgency diminished. If no BPH...how is the Flomax working??? Thanks!
Avatar m tn For me it started around the age of 24 and I still have it at 44 now. If the prostate is obstructed than FloMax dialates the prostate. When you stop the FloMax your symptoms of weak urine flow and penis, scrotum and rectal pain will return. You might want to discuss the permanent use of FloMax with your doctor or a urologist. Trust me it is better to be on FloMax than to have the TURP to deal with the prostate.
Avatar n tn Yes, prostatitis is an inflammation of the prostate gland. It seems to be getting easier to urinate, and I've noticed that flomax is sometimes proscribed for prostate issues, so perhaps doubling my dosage on that was a good idea.
Avatar n tn 2018 started having pelvic discomfort, thigh discomfort, back discomfort, frequent urinating. Age 52. Doctor put me on Flomax and things subsided. I had CT scan and nothing abnormal. PSA’s are low .4 and .5. Rectal exam, slightly larger than normal but no other abnormalities. As of today I am having back and thigh pain.
Avatar m tn Update. Had a cystoscopy/cystography done yesterday, with a machine that did not record the results, but ony view. I viewed the display too. The Dr said my prostate is enormous, and there's no way I'd be able to urinate without surgery. I tried to urinate on my own for a few hours after that procedure, after my catheter was removed, and while I could at first, later I couldn't.
Avatar n tn Hi, July 2007 I have the horrible burning at tip of penis and full blown testicle pain. I see my PCP exam prostate inflamed and tender. Bactrim for 10 days - 5 days I am worse I call PCP office and get the doctor that I prefer. She examines me says prostate is inflamed, bactrim is weak prescribes Levaquin for 30d. 5 days on the Levaquin the penis tip burning went away but testicle pain remained.
233622 tn?1279334905 flomax is great if you have touble with urine retention. It is approved for prostate problems,,,,I have not prostate, but it is also used in women with MS who have urinary problems.
Avatar n tn An ultrasound of the prostate can also be done to check for inflammation within the prostate and to pick up prostate enlargement. Slight changes in diet, such as avoiding caffeine and alcohol and citrus foods can help reduce symptoms. Pain medication such as elmiron have been described as having good results in this condition.
Avatar m tn I have been on this medicine (together with a double dose of Flomax) for the past two years. I have noticed a definite improvement in urinary symptoms (fewer trips to the bathroom, better flow), but it has wreaked havoc with my sex life (no erections, no ejaculation). I would like to quit, but am afraid that the effects of quitting might be worse than the ones I am currently experiencing. I am 69 years old.
Avatar m tn Two years ago I did a Cystoscopy and last year flow measurement test (Not Urodynamics) and blood test for any cancer and prostate issues. They found nothing. Again I went to a different doctor thinking to find the cause of this last week. He wanted me to do the Cystoscopy again and UroDynatics test. My question is is it necessary to perform a cystoscopy again since they did not find any issues when performed last. This test makes me nervous since I suffer for months after this.
