Flomax frequent urination

Common Questions and Answers about Flomax frequent urination

flomax

Hi there! Increased frequency of urination could occur secondary to GU infections/ inflammations, excessive fluid intake, hormonal/ endocrine issues such as diabetes etc. Prostatic enlargement would rather decrease urination. I would suggest considering a detailed evaluation by an internist initially and depending on the cause diagnosed/ suspected, it can be managed accordingly or specialist acre may be sought. Hope this is helpful. Take care!
Hi, I am a 22 year old male with frequent urination problems. I use to urinate about 4 times a day. now i urinate almost every 2 hours. i have been seeing a urologist for the past 5 months and have had little accomplished. He did a uroflowmetry test and said my speed and everything was good. He has put me on a month's worth of cyproflaxin, i have also taken detrol LA, and flomax, none of which have helped me. I have a urine stream that is always split.
I have frequent problems with urination. Difficulty in getting the muscles to relax, urgency (when it's time to go, I gotta go - or I'm going to have an accident.) And today I coughed and wet my pants! I think that's known as stress incontinence - but I haven't had any kids, so I'm blaming it on muscle weakness. Some of my symptoms have stuck around, some have gone away... so it's really just a case of wait and see. I'd say wait a while and see if it's still a problem in a month.
Just curious, if the ultrasound for an ovarian cyst comes back positive do you know if there is anything that they can do to stop the bladder pressure/frequent urination? Have you talked with your GYN or urologist about what (if any) treatments exist for the cysts? Thanks.
pain just before and during urination, sometimes persistent minor pain in the penis, dull pain at the front above the penis, slower than ever start to flow, more slow dribbling at the end, and reduced volume, so even more incomplete bladder emptying, and so of course more frequent urination, though not nocturia. He has never had urinary infections in the past, and has not changed his lifestyle/eating/drinking habits lately.
I’m a 22-year old male. I have been having frequent urination for the past four years. I urinate about twelve times a day and four times at night, always in very small amounts. After having voided I feel satisfied, but a half an hour later I have the urge to go again. I exprience no pain or urgency. For four years I was able to deal with it for the most part, but recently I've become aware of the need to fix the problem. So I've been to two urologists.

I was given a course of vantin 200mg (2x2daily) the fever is gone but my frequent urination (sometimes as much as 4 times an hour ) continues. It seems like the urethera stays irritated and the dull pain in the perinium surfaces sometimes. My Dr did a urine culture which came up negative. He has discontinued the antibiotic and has put me on flomax and ibuprofin. I still have a irritating sensation during and after urination and a constant sensation under the glans of my penis.
I'm at my witts end. I'm a 36 year old male. I have had frequent urination for about 2 years. I have been to both my G.P. and 2 urolgists. I have had bladder dissension, urodynamic studies, x-rays, and endless tests. My condition from my urolgist at first was an infected prostate. He first did the antibotic thing for 4 weeks. No progress. Then flomax with no real improvment. I have tried supplements along with the flomax and achieve much better flow but no decrease in freqency.
I did not take pain relievers (during this period until 9/24 (again dose of Ibuprefen then was far less than what I took on the day in which I had frequent urination that evening. I have been on flo-max for over six weeks (still have problem). Also have been prescribed clonazepam if cause is stress related. I'm certainly under stress now with this problem. If stress related, how should this be treated? Give me some success stories if possible.
Since 3 days I am having burning sensation while peeing and frequent urination. Is it normal for a 29year old to have a prostate like that or am I misdiagnosed. Can I take levaquin or any antibiotics to stop the burning.
I am 34 years old man. Its been almost a year I am having frequent urination problem. I need to go to urinate like every 20-30 minutes. I have just has my first son and my life should revolve around him, instead it revolves around the washroom and making sure I am close to one and comfortable as possible. I saw my local urologist and he said I might had prostatitis and he put me on bactrim and flomax for about 6 weeks, but It didn't help. Eventually I was sent to a specialist at Stanford and after doing a rectal exam he said he didn't believe I had a prostate problem (I hadn't told him about my masturbation habits). i did a flow study for a week, a urodynamics test with an x-ray type machine, and last september I had a cytscopy, all of which came back fine.
I have constant severe pain when urinating, during and after ejaculation, and have painful stinging and itching in the end of my penis at all times. Frequent urination and occasional slight leaking. I've been dealing with this since 2002. I went to several urologists and did the usual long term antibiotics, Flomax etc. I don't drink alchohol. Had swabs put in the ned of my penis to check for infrctions, all is clean.

I need go to the bathroom sometimes twice an hour and wake up, with urgency, 2-3 times per night. Flomax is prescribed for frequent urination due to enlarged prostate, but is not appropriate for kidney problems. Do you know of a treatment for frequent urination due to kidney dysfuntion?
He ordered the RPR and gave me Flomax to lesson the frequent urination and anaprox for the swelling...I know he's gonna come back and tell me I have Syphilis. Here's a good question...if he tells me I have it and I test negative for the FTA-ABS can I tell him to go jump in the lake?
After few months all the discomforts and pain would come back. Discomforts start by first frequent urination. Sometimes I had to urine every 1.5 – 2 hrs. I would wake up 3-4 times in the middle of night to urine. Afterwards I would feel pressure from inside of my lower abdominal area, just like you would have gas and not being able to release gas. Eventually I would get shooting pain from my anus to my lower abdomen, right above my pelvic bone.

I have spoken to my specialist's sectretary and she has managed to get no advice on what I should do about taking Tamsulosin and why should I, as I had already passed the stone? My pains have continued, with frequent urination until today where things seem to be getting a "little" better. I really don't see why I need to be on tamsulosin for so long, why if I have passed the stone? Could there be a prostate problem here?

Hello, Without examination confirmation of a diagnosis is tough but urge of frequent urination can be due to increased intake of fluids or diabetes mellitus.Other possibilities are glomerulonephritis, pyelonephritis(inflammation of the kidneys),urinary tract infection, hypercalcemia, hypokalemia(low potassium),hyperthyroidism, hyperparathyroidism and diuretic drugs.
I was officially diagnosed with MS a week ago. For about the last 3 years I was experiencing frequent urination. Went to my PCP who put me on Vesicare for spastic bladder. During this time I was in nursing school full-time, working part-time, and being a single Mom as my hubby was working out of state, so quite frankly I never did any further follow-up..just dealt with the constant peeing. I finally had enough of the urination in August so I got a referral to a urologist.
I have delt with frequent urination also. I have found soy milk unsweetened 1-2 cup a day helps, also saw palmetto pills. Ejaculation should only happen 3 times per week no more than that. If you ejaculate more than this it could possibly cause prostate inflammation. Take a break for a few days. As for your other pains in abdomin and back if you are a smoker quit as smoking is known to cause abdominal and back pain.
I am a 25 year old male. My symptoms are as follows: (1) Cloudy urine; (2) Frequent feeling of urgency; (3) Occasional burning on urination and ejaculation; (4) Weak urine flow. I am very frustrated, as I have seen two urologists (one for about a year) and neither have made any significant headway. First they hypothesized that I had a prostate infection and put me on all kinds of antibiotics -- to no avail.
