Common Questions and Answers about Flomax frequent urination

flomax

Avatar f tn Yes, when I have a stone or stones, I'll have a much more frequent urge to urinate than when I don't have a stone. I've also experienced a very slight burning sensation at times with a stone too. Are you on anything like Flomax? I've noticed a more frequent urge since I've been taking Flomax too. Not sure if that's the Flomax, or just my age coming into play.LOL!
Avatar n tn Also I was taking some over the counter medication for frequent urination problems when I took the Chlamydia and Ghonorea test, would this affect the test?
Avatar m tn I am a 52 year old male, have had a major stroke about 10 years ago, am disabled on my RH side. I have had this hyper frequent urination problem even before the stroke. Finally I asked the Dr. about it and he prescribed Flomax. Now it is even worse, it goes away for about three hours of taking the pill and is worse than before. When I say frequent I mean frequent, once a hour for 3-5 hours, if I don't get to the bathroom in time I wet myself.
721523 tn?1331581802 I have frequent problems with urination. Difficulty in getting the muscles to relax, urgency (when it's time to go, I gotta go - or I'm going to have an accident.) And today I coughed and wet my pants! I think that's known as stress incontinence - but I haven't had any kids, so I'm blaming it on muscle weakness. Some of my symptoms have stuck around, some have gone away... so it's really just a case of wait and see.
Avatar n tn I have been on a cather off and on for about 3 to 4 weeks now also I have been on flomax for a week. I have problems urinateing on my own sense surgery. I go to my urologist he takes out cather try to urinate but can't. My question is am I to anxious?
Avatar m tn Several years ago, I began having frequent/urgent urinations associated with enlarged prostate. My urologist prescribed Ditropan, which I took for about a year, which helped at first. Flomax was added the following year, which again worked for awhile, but the symptoms returned after 6 months or so. The Flomax caused retrograde ejaculation, which bothered me because in the past, I had always shot a fairly substantial load when I ***.
Avatar m tn Good afternoon. I'll try to make this brief. In Nov'15 I had a bout w/frequent urination and was prescribed Levaquin &  phenazopyridine. The very next day I broke out in hives/rashes/welts  all over my body (neck, waistline, back, arms, wrists, legs, ankles). I went back to the dr a few days later and was prescribed Bactrim & Flomax. The frequent urination went away but the rashes have persisted and are recurring.

Avatar m tn I have been on this medicine (together with a double dose of Flomax) for the past two years. I have noticed a definite improvement in urinary symptoms (fewer trips to the bathroom, better flow), but it has wreaked havoc with my sex life (no erections, no ejaculation). I would like to quit, but am afraid that the effects of quitting might be worse than the ones I am currently experiencing. I am 69 years old.
Avatar m tn Initial symptoms were painful urination, frequent, and difficulty going. STDs test were negative for HIV, Ghonneria, and chlamydia. Doctor gave me doxycyclene without improvement and then gave me Azithromycin. After this the frequency and difficulty going went away. I still have the pain at the tip or penis whole. No rash or visible sores at any point on my genitals or bloody urine. Problem started after unprotected sex with a semi frequent partner roughly 8 weeks ago.

Avatar f tn He ordered the RPR and gave me Flomax to lesson the frequent urination and anaprox for the swelling...I know he's gonna come back and tell me I have Syphilis. Here's a good question...if he tells me I have it and I test negative for the FTA-ABS can I tell him to go jump in the lake?
Avatar f tn enlarged prostate regardless of biopsy outcome. Flomax does not seem to be making an improvement in frequency of urination--does this have an indication that cancer is more likely? In other words, if nodule were benign would the Flomax be likely to work better? Does progressive increase in frequency indicate a higher chance of cancer?
Avatar m tn Hello, Without examination confirmation of a diagnosis is tough but urge of frequent urination can be due to increased intake of fluids or diabetes mellitus.Other possibilities are glomerulonephritis, pyelonephritis(inflammation of the kidneys),urinary tract infection, hypercalcemia, hypokalemia(low potassium),hyperthyroidism, hyperparathyroidism and diuretic drugs.
Avatar n tn In general, the decision to initiate medication for the enlarged prostate (BPH) is guided by the severity of their symptoms consistent with an enlarged prostate such as frequent urination, difficulty initiating urination, weak stream, and frequent nighttime urination. Often these are evaluated by a patient’s response to a standardized set of questions that help to establish a threshold of symptoms that warrant treatment with medication.
Avatar m tn Its seems that the testicle pain which is in the base of the penis and down the spermatic cord a bit is always happening in sync with the prostate pain. The doctor said to take the flomax/alpha blockers I think because he is out of options. Been taking that and a once a day anti inflammitory. I am 34 and was healthy before this so I Dont think its BPH. I have seen a urologist and he is a little baffled.
Avatar f tn Back on June 11th I felt like I needed to pee all the time, no burning or hurting, but a frequent need to pee so I started taking azo pills for a few days and felt better within 2 days and for the next 2 days I felt great then my husband and I had sex and a few hours later we went to Lowes to shop and all of a sudden I felt like I needed to pee again so I went to the bathroom and I couldn't go and for the next 15 to 20 minutes I went to the bathroom a few more times and just could not go har
Avatar n tn I am a 50-year-old man. About a week ago, I started experiencing frequent urination with urgency and waking at night to urinate. I visited my family doctor who did a simple test for blood in the urine, which was positive. He diagnosed prostatitis and prescribed 2 weeks of cipro. I tried it for two days but experienced anxiety and insomnia, although I must say by the second day the urinary symptoms were completely gone.
Avatar f tn Since doctors don't seem to want to help me figure out what's wrong, I'm trying to investigate my various symptoms to find potential diseases to rule out. For the past two and a half years, I've had a problem with frequent urination. No incontinence of any kind, but I tend to pee on average 12-20 times a day. Sometimes I'll be up one or two times at night, sometimes more and sometimes not at all. I DO drink quite a bit of fluid.
