Age 64, with flomax I experience no pleasure with my orgasms. Is this because of the retrograd ejac. or is it a side effect of the medication? I may need to have surgery to improve my urinary flow, but retrograde ejac is

My neurologist recently put me on a Detrol LA for a week, then had me add Flomax. I noticed a slight improvement with the Detrol, but when I added the Flomax things urinary got dramatically better. But, shortly after starting the Flomax, I discovered that I did not produce any ejaculate! Not that sex is a big thing with me (staying upright while standing takes precidence), but it is still an important part of life (if only rarely).
I am 77 years old and have been taking Flomax for about 2 years. I have had cool thermo therapy for enlarged prostrate about 2 years ago.
Unrination is really no problem anymore, but I have a problem with getting erections and now when I ejaculate I have no semon in me. Also have a runny nose mostly in the a.m.
What is your advice and opinion for this problem.

Thanks for writing in. Prostatitis is usually not a side effect of use of flomax, indeed it can happen due to BPH, for which flomax is used as treatment. It would be better to get prostrate examination done by a urologist and take opinion for surgery for resolving these symptoms.
Choice of antibiotics depends upon the kind of organism affecting the prostrate.

In my opinion, sounds like the flomax which he probably is taking for his prostate. Either the dosage should be decreased or the medication changed completely.
Does he have a heart issue, a bp issue or just this prostate issue?
He definitely needs to have this followed up with a physician; good luck with that.
Flomax can reduce the amouht of seman that you produce. It would be unusual though to have this production reduced down to zero unless the man was ejaculating very often. In general terms Flomax is a useful medication with very few side-effects..

About a week ago, I started experiencing frequent urination with urgency and waking at night to urinate. I visited my family doctor who did a simple test for blood in the urine, which was positive. He diagnosed prostatitis and prescribed 2 weeks of cipro. I tried it for two days but experienced anxiety and insomnia, although I must say by the second day the urinary symptoms were completely gone.
hey man, im only 24 and have gone through the same ****. they cant find anything right? so dont take there ****** drugs. i am on my way to curing this myself. research candida infection. im telling you it'll be your saving grace, and for some reason doctors always say that's a women thing, cause its basicallly a "yeast infection". just look at different sites for different symptoms, and dont be sceptical. if antibiotics dont work you gotta try an anti-candida diet.

s - as for the retrograde ejaculation which is scary and weird, it does not happen if you have sex right before its time to take a dose. For example I was taking Flomax after lunch mid day, and if I had sex that evening the retrograde issue would happen, but if I waited to have sex until the next morning or afternoon before taking another dose it does not happen and ejaculate exits out the way it is supposed to...
Should I take these meds even though the Flomax (tamsulosin) is not approved for women? Also considering my past medical history Im scared to take either meds, should I?
