Avatar f tn My question is do any of you see a pain management dr for pain related to kidney stones? Ive gotten stones for the last 18 years but they used to come about anywhere from once or twice a year with one 3 year gap of no stones which was heavenly. Now since novemeber they seem to forming rapidly. Is this any indication that this may continue to be a frequent problem or could this just be a flukish year? My urologist doesn't seem to have any real idea so i was looking for personal experiences.
Avatar n tn On Saturday I went to the emergency room for treatment of my 1st Kidney stone, it is now Tuesday and it has not yet passed. This is not an issue, yet.. The issue I have is that while I had an orgasm on Tuesday, I did not ejaculate any sperm. What could be the problem?
187666 tn?1331173345 In people who do not pass kidney stone lithotripsy is the treatment of choice. It is indicated for stones 1 cm or less in the kidney and upper ureter. Contact your doctor if the haematuria is persisting. Persistent haematuria can lead to weakness, dizziness and hypotension. A medical evaluation is important. Best wishes and regards!
Avatar n tn I can only tell you what I've been told over the years I've dealt with kidney stones. Drink plenty of water daily and make sure that your urine stays clear in color when you urinate. When you think you're drinking enough water, then drink another 8 oz glass of it. Additionally, recently I've started taking Flomax (generic version) on a daily basis.

Avatar f tn The treatment for kidney stones depends on their size and what they are made of and also if they are causing pain or obstructing the urinary tract. Small stones usually pass through the urinary tract without treatment. It is good advice to stay well hydrated as that should prevent the stones from getting any bigger or new ones from forming. For kidney pain you may take a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug such as ibuprofen or naproxen .
2143924 tn?1545284130 Hello, For kidney pain you may take a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug such as ibuprofen or naproxen .Few doctors also recommend Tamsulosin (Flomax)to speed the passage of stones. The size and location of ureter stones are the most important factors for predicting the spontaneous passage of the stone. Lithotripsy is a good option for stones 1 cm or less in the kidney and upper ureter. Consult a nephrologist for more queries and assistance. Hope it helped. Best luck and regards!
Avatar m tn This is the first time CT has been done laying on stomach. If part of this has been kidney stones all along, why might I be getting severe abdominal bloat with these episodes? I have not passed stone yet (week 3) but put on Flomax 3 days ago and bloat seems to be reducing. Thanks for your suggestions.
Avatar f tn Hello, Potassium citrate is used for the treatment of stones. I would suggest you to get an evaluation done from a urologist to determine the type of stone. Treatment modes include Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithrotripsy (ESWL), uteroscopic stone removal and percutaneoud nephrolithotomy but it depends on the size of the stone. If the size of the stone is small, it’s usually treated with ESWL in which shock waves are given from outside and stone breaks into small pieces.
Avatar m tn It showed one +4mm kidney stones in my kidney. All my bloodwork and urine were fine. Was put on Flomax and told to screen my urine. All through the next two weeks i had constant pain in my left groin area but also had bursts of travelling pain from my kidney to my groin. Passed two smaller stones and several fragments. pain was increasing in my groin and started having nausea.
Avatar f tn Some others in here could probably answer that question better than I can for you. I would imagine it might depend on what your stones are comprised of. Have you had any of your stones tested yet?
Avatar m tn Also i have been told the passage of my ureter has formed some sort of minor blockage due to inflammation?! What will be the treatment for the same? Extremely confused and scared any help would be great. Thanks.
Avatar f tn I have been drinking about a half of a glass of lemon juice a day(diluted), and am trying to cut back on my sodium, but want to know what kind of dirt I should follow to prevent more stones. I drink a good amount of water a day already and I am vegetarian(I eat eggs and dairy though). I am worried because it was horrible passing the stone.
Avatar m tn Most 3mm UVJ stones pass without surgery, and Flomax and fluids are all you can do. If it has not passed, the treatment of choice would probably be ureteroscopy, an endoscopic procedure to break up and remove the stone.
Avatar f tn In addition the therapy for renal stones depends on the size, the location and the kidney functions. Please consult your primary care physician who will do blood tests, x- rays and may ask for an ultrasonogram to find out the cause for stone formation. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar n tn Warning This Is Long: I was diagnosed on the 1st with Kidney Stones. Two days prior I went to urgent Care for severe left flank pain and nausea. After a clean x-ray they diagnosed me with a UTI and gave me a three day antibiotic. I go wishes the antibiotic and still had severe left flank pain and nausea so went to the ER. The ER doctor was upset they didn't do a CT scan so he ordered one and I find out I had two kidney stones a 3x2mm in my left kidney and a 5x3mm in my right kidneys.
Avatar f tn I've been having pain for 2 weeks that's been like my other kidney stones. I've had several surgerys to have them removed in the past so I know what I'm feeling. I went to my urologist today and he told me it's a 2mm stone in my kidney and shouldn't be causing pain. So why am I experiencing pain and was able to know it was a stone? Also I haven't been prescribed anything to help with it except narcotics for the pain. No flomax or anything. I don't know what to do.
Avatar n tn Kidney stones are mega painful!!!
Avatar n tn I have a 7mm calcium based (I believe) stone that after 5 years has moved from the kidney to the Ureter. (CT Scan last week). I had a lot of pain a week ago and moderate to no pain since. Currently just feel a mild stomach discomfort. He put me on Flomax on the off chance it might pass on it's own. My doctor wants to go in with a scope and laser it out.
Avatar f tn Thank you for your response. Yes I finally got some flomax about 2 weeks ago but I haven't noticed a difference. I just want the urge to go away it's miserable!!
Avatar f tn I'm 25 weeks and have history of kidney stones prior to pregnancy. I currently have them, yes plural. They're awful and no one should experience them, especially during pregnancy. I'm sure you're on flomax and an antibiotic? Also, the only thing that seems to remotely help are hot baths. My doctor informed me that if we can make it through this, labors a breeze.
Avatar m tn Common causes of urinary frequency include conditions such as urinary tract infections, diabetes, increased fluid consumption, urinary stones, prostate disorders, kidney disorders that affect the function of concentrating urine properly, and diseases of the urinary bladder. The most likely condition, based on your symptoms, appears to be prostatitis. It is an inflammation of the prostate gland which may be in response to infection or may be uninfective in origin.
Avatar m tn It could be kidney stones, a urinary tract infection, kidney infection, bladder infection, or tears/abrasions to any of the above (kidney, bladder or urinary tract.) Blood in the urine is the symptom of something that is likely much more serious.
Avatar f tn Of course assuming a stent would be affordable and effective. Neither of which I know yet. Ugh. I hate kidney stones. Sorry for the novel, just a little frustrated I guess. Thanks for asking :). It's nice to commiserate with others who understand.
